- It's day 3 of our Alaskan Disney Cruise Line vacation and today is glacier day! We have a busy morning on board the Disney Wonder taking outdoor pictures with Disney characters and then we hop on a tender boat to do the $300 glacier explorer tour where we get up close and personal with Sawyer Glacier!

We loved the video, and the boys lost their minds when you showed the note and gifts. They think they are famous now.
A tip for photos with the characters in their glacier day outfits: if you don’t mind the photos being taken inside, the characters do come out a couple of times in the atrium in those outfits. We thought we missed them because of our glacier excursion but we saw them out around first dinner seating and again later that night. So there are a few chances to catch them thankfully. And the lines were so short inside.

Oh my word, how AMAZING! I found myself with tears in my eyes as I watched the glacier beauty, and then the WHALE! We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Magic a couple weeks ago, and we just KNOW that an Alaska cruise is next!
I laughed so hard when you came to the Asian breakfast section of the buffet. Those are the things we Asians like to eat for breakfast … a bowl of rice congee followed by rice with corned beef hash with an over easy egg on top. That’s the section I hit up when we go up for breakfast.

I live in Juneau and have taken tours out to the Tracy Arm many times. Worst sunburn of my life, I did have blisters. Because it's cold people often forget to use sunscreen, also the sun reflects off the water and reflects even more off water that is has glacier silt!! If you are lucky enough to have sun while visiting don't make my mistake and turn your skin to looking like a king crab.

Beautiful scenery! We have a Alaska Disney cruise booked for next summer, our cruise says Stikine Icecap on glacier day. Would this be the same kind of day, characters on deck? Excursions on a tender boat? Just a different glacier?

The Wonder doesn't sail to Alaska in the winter, only in the Spring/Summer. This year, for the first time ever, after the North American Spring/Summer season is over, the Wonder is heading Down Under to sail the Australian Pacific region Spring/Summer season before heading back to do the North American Spring/Summer season again. 😊
I was on the Wonder last Christmas down to Mexico. The ship is gorgeous, especially factoring in their atrium chandelier which definitely ties in to the poinsettias they had in the atrium and the Christmas decor. I love their Christmas cruises.
Unfortunately the frozen characters weren’t available during Christmas outside of the show. Some of the other princesses were in Christmas outfits though.

I have a question about characters for my 5 year old-do the characters and princesses sign books or just do pictures? (Which we are happy to take pics too!) Also, what time would you recommend getting in line on glacier day to see the first viewing of Mickey? Do the lines clear out later on or are they consistently long all day?

I have questions about glacier day. If you stood in line at 8:30am could you get pictures with all 6 characters in the morning? To get as many characters as possible you have to book the later in the day glacier tour? I want the picture of the ship in the water as well.
Correct you have to book the later tour if you want to get all the characters
