he was there for about 1/2 hour and all of this is for the audience, and he's not a boxer, he's an MMA fighter, he's not lame because he's the champ, you don't to talk shit about him for no reason
Dos Santos would make an excellent boxer with some dedicated training, but he's first and foremost an MMA fighter. His striking game is excellent for his current profession, especially with a more diverse range of strikes (Muay Thai, Kickboxing etc.) as well as the threat of takedowns and submissions.
Well you did repeat some of what I said but yeah I agree. Sadly there are so many who still haven't figured this out yet. I will say though if JDS had say 3-4 years of just boxing training (maybe started a couple of years ago) he could possibly do well. To be honest I bet the power isn't as big a difference as you think. JDS can take a good shot with 4 oz gloves. I really don't think that's what would be the difference, it would just be the skill level, certain tactics and mainly defence
It's no longer as black and white as "jiu jitsu guy" or "boxer". Now you have to be able to stuff takedowns from Division 1 wrestlers, roll with ADCC champions, and go toe to toe with world-class strikers. To be considered a "dominant" fighter these days, you have to be a complete athlete. The days of the Tank Abbotts and bar room brawlers are over. If Junior can improve his wrestling he can be considered amongst the true greats.
@@motorcitycobra8875 wow u really replied to a comment from like 10years ago. yeah i liked MMA fighers who boxed. thanks for the comment and Hearns the GOAT lol
Boxing wishes JDS came over, HW division is dead in boxing and it's finally a good competitive division in MMA. He has great hands, very accurate and fast for a big man but hopefully most have finally figured it out at this point, MMA boxing and regular boxing are completely different.
Junior has the most fluid hands and MMA style boxing that the Heavyweight Division's ever seen by far. His headmovement is limited to zero though (though his iron jaw covers his mistakes.) However he makes up with it with great movement and footwork similar to what Machida does. He's great at ripping off a genius combination and then leaping out of range before he gets countered. If he could crossover to pro boxing is debatable. He would definitely have to make some adjustments
Well he got dominated by Cain Velasquez who is a wrestler. He's never had a pro or amateur boxing fight. So you can't really say boxers can dominate MMA but their striking would be high level comapred to the average MMA fighter no doubt.
No he can't his style is great for mma but if there's one who can it's Dominick Cruz cause he has all the requirements for a great boxer: hand and foot speed, great head movement, footwork and timing, excellent defense and counter punching and good jabs and also he's a volume guy with no power which works well in the lower weights
JDS FOR SURE CAN'T TAKE OUT ANY BOXER IN THE HEAVY WEIGHT DIVISION BECAUSE ITS A WAY DIFFERENT TYPE OF FIGHT WITH HEAVER GLOVES: BUT IF THE TOP HEAVY WIGHT IN BOXING CAME TO THE UFC TO FIGHT HIM HE WOULD GET DESTROYED, BECAUSE MOST BOXERS DONT GOT TAKE DOWN DEFENSE AND JDS IS A BEAST AT BEING AN ALL AROUND FIGHTER
Junior dos Santos may be a good investment to bring boxing to Brazil. He will have weaker opponents fist to help his boxing career but if or when he wants to face a top ten let alone a champion, that's where the problem will be. In my opinion if he does go to boxing he'll have to do it now because no promoter will let him fight any top opposition with his skills that aren't really technical and kinda sloppy, find a good boxing coach to tweak his boxing and fight mainly in Brazil. If he does that than he'll make bank and be the face of boxing in Brazil, but if he gets to cocky and wants to fight klitscho he'll get ko easily. But he will be marketable, but his doing well in the ufc
Way more money if you're name is Mayweather and Pacquaio. Alot of boxers including champions don't make alot. JDS after all said and done probably makes about a million a fight. Not bad for a guy who has under 20 fights. Compare to #3 P4P Sergio Martinez who seen his biggest payday last fight at 1.4 million after more then 50 fights.
he would never have a chance in boxing, professional boxers train since 10 years he can go there to sparr and improve for competing in MMA MMA is a new sport and boxing is mutch more competitive than MMA,MMA sell good because the masses are asses,i dont mean to ofend but its my opinion and i think i am right
If he can translate these pad skills to sparring with some fringe level contenders, I would think JDS could debut against a guy like Chris Arreola and do very well. No disrespect to Arreola an excellent boxer and "tough as nails fighter". Or, give JDS a 6, then 8 rounder against the guys that Kimbo boxed just to get his feet wet. He ko's those guys and gets his first 10 rounder against Arreola.
Dos Santos would be eaten alive by the Klitschkos or by anyone notable. Dos Santos vs Kimbo would be cool to see but Dos Santos doesnt have the speed or power to compete in boxing. There is a reason he is in mma and not in boxing. Its harder to be a boxer.
he was there for about 1/2 hour and all of this is for the audience, and he's not a boxer, he's an MMA fighter, he's not lame because he's the champ, you don't to talk shit about him for no reason
he didn't make him quit he knocked him out

hes got a unique style thats for sure....
in a boxing match? the Klitchskos wold ko him as a warm up for a real fight later that day

Boxers hit way harder. Guess you wouldn't know from sitting on your couch.
I think he said once that he would be open to boxing, as crazy as that sounds. I'd rather see him in boxing than Kimbo that is for sure.
I want to see any boxer of any division wins any mma fighter.
Boxe is the past. MMA is now.
Ok dope. Why do mmgay keep climbing in the ring? And getting embarrassed? Money. Lesson over sonny.
Hes got a really good chin. Very explosive fighter. Its far easier for a MMA fighter to transition into Boxing than vice versa.

Cain has a chance to redeem himself gotta go for the takedown early and watch out for the uppercut. Shit Roy Nelson went all three rounds with him.
a boxer with great takedown defence
Far from a boxer
hes a really good boxer i saw that ages ago
With all of his amatuer and pro boxing matches, you saw that?
@@motorcitycobra8875 wow u really replied to a comment from like 10years ago.

He'd get knocked out you couch potato.

then he met Cain Valasquez. Just goes to show you they CANT. got em!
cain will have his hands full again. if he cant take JDS down and G&P or submit him, then it will be a boxing seminar for Cain. JDS FTW!!!!
Well he got dominated by Cain Velasquez who is a wrestler. He's never had a pro or amateur boxing fight. So you can't really say boxers can dominate MMA but their striking would be high level comapred to the average MMA fighter no doubt.

Ok legendary boxing trainer, from your couch. Where do you clowns come from?
Ok Mr fight expert. Mmgay dummy.
I want to see him fight in K-1.
Should be awsome to watch him try, to bad hes not in his prime tho. Then again, who is in heavyweights now adays?
The ones that would destroy him.

Cain was not at he's best in the first fight. He fought hurt just cuz he probably needed the money. This guys don't get paid that much
dos santos started as a boxer, just goes to show you that boxers can dominate mma!
Why would he consider boxing? Well, there is WAY more money first of all. That's not an easy question, I don't know if he'd be a good boxer.
no its not, a base is a base.
why the dislikes, stop hating couch potatoes
yea idk why he made the title that when hes gunna stay MMA and wont ever cross
i dont get it
the klitchskos used to be kick boxers
if he threw kicks he would be way more successful cuz hes such a good athlete dont know why he wont throw kicks and knees
who cares cause he wont be....he is ufc heavyweight champion so why would he even consider go to pro boxing
Actually he started out as a BJJ practitioner, besides, a pure boxer would never dominate in MMA.
As mma would never dominate in boxing. Too slow, no defense/footwork, arm punchers and glass jaws
he would never have a chance in boxing, professional boxers train since 10 years
he can go there to sparr and improve for competing in MMA
MMA is a new sport and boxing is mutch more competitive than MMA,MMA sell good because the masses are asses,i dont mean to ofend but its my opinion and i think i am right

Lmao. Stick with your cookies and your couch.
his technique sucks, klitchko would put him KO with one hand
Boxing star? Ummmmm, no.
Junior han't dominated anything and he's a mixed martial artist not a boxer.
completely irrelevant
lol
