  • Three-division world champion Miguel Cotto demonstrated his current form with new trainer Freddie Roach during a workout in the very hot Don Miguel Boxing Gym in Orlando, Florida. Cotto faces two-time world title challenger Delvin Rodriguez in an HBO-televised 12-round super welterweight battle on Saturday at the Amway Center in Orlando.

I love watching Freddie Roach hold the mitts, nothing flashy but he makes it look easy.

The punches of Freddie's fighters makes his Parkinsons afraid to show up. :)

Cotto is really technical. I like that. He is an all time great and God bless him.

Well that's when he stopped throwing the left hook to the body and started running around and got hammered by Trout. Roach brought back the 'Bull' Cotto as Kellerman calls him. The hard left hook to the body and vicious combinations.

I am happy to see Miguel back to his roots. He was a monster in his early fights. This Cotto could give anyone a hard fight. Freddie know boxing, and he knows enough not to try and change the fighter. he gets the most out of what a fighter has. Miguel has a lot.

MARAVILLA is going to feel those hits. You can hear the power as he connects with the pads.

cotto really does look very good. roach was def right when he said he needed a trainer who he would listen to instead of running his own camp

He said on a radio station here in Puerto Rico that he has 3 fights left(Rodriguez was the first).
Now that Cotto looked so great with Roach and seems to want bigger things in boxing, who knows, he might change his mind.

Now we know why Roach said he was pissing blood after doing the mitts and body work with Cotto.. Those shots will kill Delvin.. If a C level fighter like Jesse Feliciano could break down Delvin, Cotto is going to seriously break him down. Those are some HARD SHOTS!!! You could see Roach flinching when he lands and he's not even going all out

i hate to say it but shouldnt freddie use someone else for pads, im not even referring to his illness slowing him down because he's doing a fantastic job managing that but he is in his 50's now and cotto is an elite fighter... surely use the fastest person available ...does a slow trainer not effect fight prep?

I've seen videos over the years he can still do what he has done for years greatly I think because of Parkinson he prefers to do the mitts himself since it allows him to get his points across without using many words.

The are working on being deliberate not speed . Delvin has long arms once inside theres plenty of real estate to place the well timed counter to the body .

The Cuban trainer was all wrong for Cotto, nice guy but all wrong. He tried to make Cotto a finesse Boxer instead of focusing on Cottos strengths like Freddy is doing..
    Looks like a good matchup.

nah. More like Cotto didn't have a real training camp or trainer for that fight. The Cotto after Emmanuel Steward would annihilate Pacquiao. Real trainers, with real gameplans.
