  • @larrywheels762
    @larrywheels762 10 лет назад +19

    perfect technique rolling shoulder into punch, power comes from the pivot. if you could see feet, you'd notice a slight foot pivot all in perfect synch with punch. it becomes muscle memory for these guys. it's amazing how short the punches really are yet so much power. and that turning the fist to be horizontal flat at impact, this dudes a puncher.

    • @angelgariaparra8452
      @angelgariaparra8452 10 лет назад

      very true ...if you look in the mirror you can see the pivot back foot

    • @larrywheels762
      @larrywheels762 10 лет назад +1

      thanks angel, I got so focused on his perfect form, I just knew he was using pivots to get that added power into his punches. his pivots are in synch with his punching- so cool to see.

    • @laswap1
      @laswap1 9 лет назад +1

      For the most part his power is natural, people like to talk about form but it only maximizes what you were endowed with at birth. Paulie Mallinaggi can perfect the same technique but he still won't be a massive puncher.

    • @larrywheels762
      @larrywheels762 9 лет назад

      Rowan Williams you are correct in that. GGG has the technique to go with the power. without the right pivot for leverage the power will be lessoned. I learned the pivot and turning into my punches ,so I notice this technique and I saw this with GGG. BUT YOU ARE SPOT ON .

      ***** ye but what does that mean, anyone landed a free shot could, what makes ggg good is his footwork, balance and ring iq which is underrated, but lets not get out of hand, ggg is an all time great amateur fighter, and has proven to be a very good pro fighter, but he has a god test in lemieux coming up and then hopefully we will get a good match when a guy moves up like winner of cotto canelo and then ggg can do the same and face either ward or kovalev or winner of beterbiev kovalev, if he gets those wins then we can start calling him pound for pound best, the way hes winning fights says a lot about his talent but he needs to do it to top level guys at 160 168 and eventually 175 ot be great, but he def has the talent to do it, but i dont see him getting past ward as of now

    • @TimmyTurner421
      @TimmyTurner421 9 лет назад +1

      +brad harris Kovalev said that GGG hits as hard as a light-heavyweight. Could Andre Ward take those power punches? It's not like he's been very active in the past 2 years. He needs to face some proper boxers to become somewhat relevant again. At the moment, Ward is not very interesting for big money fights.

    His technique is amazing; watch the footwork that goes into the uppercuts. Eastern european fighters learn the basics well and are then amateurs for years, getting experience, then hey turn pro and are already great fighters. American fighters are after $$$ and turn pro too quickly, and when they run into this guy - who had over 350 amateur fights they dont have the fortitude or experience to compete.

    • @toopkarcher4941
      @toopkarcher4941 10 лет назад

      Amateur boxing isn't like pro boxing. Amateurs count punches and it's all about punch and not be hit. Plus, they don't need to become pro as fast. A guy can have all the amateur fights he wants but if he hasn't become a pro yet you can't really say he's experienced.

      ***** I box at a USA amateur gym. I'm at 140lb and my coach has reminded me time and time again that my punches feel like a 180lber. Believe me, if you have great technique and stamina which Gennady does. Immense "natural" core strength and Power goes along way in a fight while chipping away at your already bruised opponent. Especially if its as hard hitting as this man's in the ring. He has 378 fights under his belt, thats the most in boxing today. I can guarantee you GGG has the best left hook in boxing.

    • @GeorgeOu
      @GeorgeOu 10 лет назад +1

      Michael Scott Kozma I just watched his fight with a very game Grzegorz Proksa. He does not telegraph his punches like he does in this video. He seems to be able to eat punches like nothing and he can connect with a stationary or moving target. Since his punches come with consequences, that explains why he's running over top level opponents.

    Yeah, and Chavez was quite adept at parrying punches. What we don't know, because Golovkin hasn't been challenged yet, is if he will have Chavez' single greatest asset - his determination. Chavez was a very determined fighter. His fight with Rosario, a stronger, better fighter, really demonstrated that. He simply imposed his will on Rosario. Rosario has faded from memory now, but before they fought, a lot of people thought Rosario was too much for Chavez.

    Agree. But GGG has skills&power. That's why he's avoided. Only those who have nothing to lose agree to fight him.

    Damn, some of the straight rights were so close to Able's head. He must be a brave man.

    scary,ward said his chin is exposed and that is his weakness,that might be true to some extend but how exactly are you going to attack when he throws these beheading punches

    To my eyes GGG's mannerisms when he punches look like JC Chavez Sr. He's very relaxed but pinpoint and heavy-handed!

    When he throws his right he brings out his left a bit to catch any incoming rights. Smart

    Martinez will outclass him even now with all his injuries and stuff...but still Gennady and Quillin are the next thing to happen for middleweights...2 more years

    The problem is, except with professionals like Klitschko, how is Liddell going to know he's fighting a superior boxer? MMA fighters often throw hands in real fights because, well, they are trained stand-up fighters... You can see pro MMA fighters in street brawls here on RUclips, they throw hands. This has led to certain MMA style fighters getting KO'd in the streets such as Don Frye.
    .
    I have been watching MMA for a long time, Fedor is my fighting hero. I only watch Golovkin fights in boxing.

    Idk what the guy below me is talking about. His distance, balance,and footwork all allow him the ability to land and get the most out of his power shots. His defense is suddle and he doesn't take alot of punishment because of how he positions himself in the ring. To you, whoever you are, you're lost homie.
