    Wrestling is underrated when it comes to training boxers. It helps with your strength and endurance. Thanks for the footage.

    They do that up at Abel's alot... All boxers are different with their training.. some just spar, box, and run miles.. some have conditoning coaches who put them through drills, some guys focus on strength, etc...

    MMA fighters and some boxers do this frequently as part of their strength training. It definitely helps. I'm sure he does this regularly. Try it and see for yourself. To know through application is the best education one can have.

  • @Mikelovision

    Boxers do a lot of strength training, for the exception of wrestling exercises so no that is not new. You say Alvarado, Canelo and Berto have much more Core strength. Aren't you ruling out boxers like Matthysse, Rigondeaux, Nonito, and other big punchers that do have core strength? It's actually more common than you seem to know. But I do agree that videos like these will bring awareness to the type of training these big punchers in boxing use to more people; which is a great thing.

  • @bigaback
    @bigaback 11 лет назад +1

    I know they use it in mma cause core strength is essential in that sport. But it's not nearly as important in boxing, in fact out of the top 20 p4p easily 15 of them don't have much core strength. I know Alvarado, Canelo and Berto have it but I don't think it's a requirement to be a top boxer. However it very inserting to see the results if GGG does it regularly and maybe it opens doors for more fighters to do so

      I think it was to simulate the rough housing clinching that goes on in the sport. To help him build endurance and stamina if he is every in such a fight. Rough clinching has the ability to drain your energy if your not pre conditioned for it. Its a great workout and idea i think.

      +Helios601 it was basically replicating the first exercise they were doing except replacing the machine with a human. Make it a more real world experience I guess making it more transferable to the boxing ring i.e. clinching fighting strong off the back foot etc
