People get awards for acting in films, which is literally just pretending to be someone else, while making millions of dollars for doing so. And we treat them like Gods for it too. It's absolutely insane. So I entirely agree with you. There should be awards and ceremonies for the best people among us; for the ones who care for others and behave in a selfless manner; for the people who go above and beyond for the ones who need help; for the regular, every day people who actually do something to help, even when it's not their responsibility to help. Those are the people I want to see getting awards.

You should go to their channel they have lots of videos of the caretakers giving love and showing them what they can eat as well as their milk feedings which can be fun to see.

I've been to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya and it's incredible! We arrived later in the day when the young elephants were coming back from being out all day. It's such an amazing place!
My dream would be to have a farm where I foster animals and rescue as many senior dogs as possible. It’d be big enough that all human “kids” aging out of foster care would also have a home and a safe space to land. They’d all help each other heal. I’m in awe of all you that do this for animals.

Thanks to the work the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has been doing for decades they have managed to keep this keystone species viable in Kenya. They also work with authorities on anti-poaching & do mobile vet services for these magnificent animals (as well as helping snared giraffes, zebras, injured big cats). Really exemplary work. Bravo!

It was so precious to see the other orphans, who are older than him, comforting him and welcoming him into their family group. Near the end, you can see how one of the others is stroking his back gently with her trunk to make him feel better.
