That’s so amazing that they release them back into the wild with a little group of seals their age- so they’re not venturing off all alone. Those baby seals are able to experience the world for the first time together and hopefully stay together as they get older. That’s really sweet.

I'm 53 and it absolutely horrifies me how many species have disappeared forever during my lifetime. Needless to say, I'm sincerely hoping these seals will prosper in spite of us. To the wonderful people of Seal Rescue Ireland, you have our deepest appreciation and admiration.

(Just checked, Jesus Christ 467 species perished in the last decade alone according to "Vox - The species the world lost this decade")

As for your challenge, the Black Rhino, Giant Tortoise, and an Ibex are all that come to mind. Scientists are saying the drop in wildlife populations is so severe we're creating another mass extinction. Helluva legacy, eh?

The only thing I worry for these orphaned baby seals are they don't have moms and other adults to teach them what to watch for, to eat, to hunt, to stay away, to run far away from. Hope they all do well once released! ❤
Part of releasing them to nature means releasing them to dangers as well and if they are well rehibilitated, they'll know how to be able to compete. That of course means some of them will perish. Some of them, however, will thrive, and that's part of life. I completely understand the feeling, but the idea that we can provide permanent ''safe care'' to these creatures, especially these sea ones, is wrong. Our attempts at creating permanent safe enclosures have only amounted to animal suffering and enviromental damage.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend two of Seal Rescue Ireland's live streams (organized by my employer). The staff and the volunteers are doing amazing work and cannot be thanked enough!
Thankyou for everything you and all the team does for these seals declining in numbers in the wild is just awful and there are so many animals declining in numbers on land and in the sea but I often think it's mankind that causes most of the declines in all kinds of species of animals thankyou for the work you do you are a true hero please always know that ❤️ I'm saying that to you as a voice for the animals because that's what they would say if they could speak ♥️
They are so amazing. I wonder if the skin on their stomach is thicker since they have to go on Rocky parts of the land or small pebbles versus the skin elsewhere on their body. They glide so elegantly in the water.
Seeing those opening cages, the morning sun, the endless horizon behind the sea leading to the unknown... I felt freedom, fear and excitement for a second. It's a good thing the seals are released in group ;-)
