The Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall is what my wife carries, it was the first gun that she shopped for and picked out herself.
Her small hands made it difficult for her to reach the controls on bigger guns without shifting her grip. For reference she's 5ft nothing with size 4 shoes and hands to match lol so she really loves this little gun.
She can shoot the 44 mag but anything big is slower for her to manipulate

This looks like an awesome gun for my wife as well. She has the same issue..shes tiny, and has tiny hands. She's an experienced shooter, so she can shoot bigger, heavier caliber guns like my 1911, and .44 Colt Python..but they are simply too big for her to handle comfortably. Right now she carries a Glock 26, which is a tiny little piece thats perfect for her tiny little hands, but she complains that the slide is too difficult to rack.

Really this comment just makes it clear that you have no clue what you're talking about and are probably a paid plant, anyone who knows anything about firearms will tell you that small people do much better with larger firearms, because the extra weight helps them compensate for the recoil. But hey, thanks for confirming that this channel is mostly astroturfed, I appreciate you clearing that up

I wish more people would try this gun. I own several firearms micro and full size. Straight out of the box this gun is unbelievable its super accurate and has hardly any snap at all. I've put over 500 rounds in mine no problems at all. I got used to it right away. You must use 147 grain ammo with this gun that's the only draw back. I've hit bulls eye at 40ft all day long. Spend the money you won't be sorry. It's a great edc gun. If you want get the 8+1 mag. I just can't believe how accurate this gun is. Lots of people knock it because they can't afford it so dumb. When I was shopping for my EDC I went into the local store and told the guy I was looking for something styled after the 1911 but small, concealable and in 9mm. He pulled the Kimber Micro 9 Nightfall with Hogue grips. It felt really good in my hand and it definitely is based on the 1911. It came with 2 magazines, a soft pouch and an IWB holster. The problem for me is that I'm already cramming too much in this waistband but I was able to repurpose it as a pocket holster and it's fabulous for that. It feels comfortable and is still very easily concealable. When i go to the range I make it a point to put a box of rounds through it to stay in practice. I would recommend this gun.

I was concerned about buying a Kimber after hearing about some of their quality control issues I have heard lately and mine was made in the Alabama plant versus the Yonkers NY plant, but so far mine has been prefect and I feel comfortable using this as my daily EDC. I purchased a spring kit from Mcarbo for my Kimber micro9. It comes with the hammer spring, trigger spring, and the sear speing. Their video is very thorough and concise. It shows you how to change out the springs step-by-step very easily. If you don’t feel comfortable with it they can do it for you or you can have your gunsmith do it. It significantly reduces the trigger pull.

The Kiber Micro 9 is a beautiful pieces of machinery. But's it is not trustworthy as an everyday carry handgun IMHO. I also have the Kimber Stainless II .45acp. That gun is a different story. It is extremely accurate and reliable in both 8 round and the extra 10 round capacity when using ball .45acp. at the range. I've never had a hangup on the .45ac when using FMJ ammo. But when I use hollow points, there is an occasional misfeed from the custom magazine that come with the gun.
But when I use the Kimber Micro 9 with hollow point bullets at he practice range, there are certainly multiple jams. When I switch back to FMJ 9MM ammo for the Micro 9, there seems to be "less" jamms, but there still are some. Thus I have concluded that my Kimber Micro 9 (1911) will NOT be my carry gun, no matter how small and how convenient it may seem. When it's very hot outside like it is today in the Southwest, I will carry my 9mm Canick Elite micro 9 that holds 15 rounds with a red-dot display. I will only use it if I hear fireworks going off in my Cathlic Church. Only then will I assume that there is a culpret and assessed the situation very carefully behind one of the limestone walls and carefully watch who might be the culpret. I might even watch to see i a few members are attacked before I begin to fire. Why, because I don't wish to be the person who is accused to be the original culpret, before I fire. I have no idea if my church has a police policy in plan, but I know that when the police are only a few minutes away, the terrerist is already shooting. I carry softly, but carry a big stick. Unfortunately, if a culprit invades my church, I'm going to take a few seconds to see who he is shooting at before I decide I have a right to take evasive action. That delay will undoubly cost a few lives. But I'm not going to be the guy who starts shooting as soon as I hear "firecrackers" only to have shot innocent people. My church has an obligation to set up a protective program. I'm going to ask my priest if he has a gameplan. I don't think he does. I don't wish to be excommunicated from my church, so I wonder if I should even approach my priest. I'm afraid they are not protective enough to think that an invasion of our church is even a possibility. As a pilot, I carry a checklist in case of an engine failure. I believe my priest believes his church will never have and engine failure. Poor people in my church, they are sitting ducks. But you terriorist bastards out there, there are plenty of us with .45acps who are ready to unload on you as soon as you make a sound in my church. Are you ready to become a matter? I am, but you guys can go to Hell as far as I'm concerned.

I have a Micro 9 in stainless, the cheapest, plainest of the bunch. I had some feed issues when I first got it, and the trigger seemed a little heavy. I installed the mcarbo trigger spring kit. The trigger now breaks at 3.5 lbs, which is what I expect on a SA pistol with a safety. Also I found that a little synthetic grease between the trigger transfer bar and the inside of the left grip smoothed things out a bit. Then I replaced the recoil spring with the Galloway heavy spring. The long Galloway spring is a bear to get in, but easier with practice after a little break in.
Now the gun is perfect. It's accurate, shoots every time, and conceals easy. I like, too, that the slide can be cycled with the safety on. The trigger reset is really good, and the little pistol can be fired really fast. It's fun to shoot!
Some people say you shouldn't have to modify a pistol, but I've changed something on every pistol I own.

I carry my canik tp9 sub compact as my compact sized gun and my 4.5" xdm 9mm or 45ACP when I just regularly carry everyday . I found that a comfortable holster will let you carry anything big or small . I feel just as comfortable carrying a 45ACP double stack as my hellcat but I can shoot my 45acp way better , so I like carrying the better shooting gun . Sure I can hit with a tiny micro 9 but why bother if I'm comfortable with the larger gun . Lol sometimes I carry the larger guns and even forget I'm carrying. Holster choice and quality belt make a huge difference.

I carry according to the season. In the winter which is full coat season, I often carry a Glock 36 in .45 acp. As the weather warms up, I switch to either a hammerless J frame, or one of my Glock model 42s in .380 acp. On Sundays I carry a Micro 9 Bel Aire or a Sig P938 in Robin Egg blue. Had all kinds of issues at first and cost me a good penny for different mags, but after about 300 rounds, it shoots like a dream and punches the red out of a silhouette at 10-15 yards like clockwork. And I can finally use the actual Kimber brand mags.

The micro 9 has it's issues, but with a simple fix and a few boxes downrange, it's a pretty good gun. Personally it gets demerits from me for capacity, but it does shoot well and shoots accurately. I've run multiple brands of brass through the wife's without much issue. Mag drop problem was a quick fix by replacing the stock spring with a shortened full size 1911 spring. If she ever actually starts carrying, I think it will serve her well.

After an RMA, it runs better, but fails to return to battery once a magazine even after another 100 rounds. My only complaint about the Micro 9 involves range ammo with aluminum casing. 1st mag is fine, but then the gun starts to warm up. Follow up mags will send that first round down range, but the casing from the next round will expand and stick in the barrel. I then have to wait for it to cool a bit and then I can rack out the casing. So I no longer shoot aluminum case ammo in that gun.

1911 designs are beautiful guns and forgiving to shoot with sliding trigger instead of hinged trigger. However, I feel a limitation for EDC is the fact they are single-action only. I agree with instructors who say a concealed pistol should always be carried "ready to fire" with safety-off and a round chambered (If you are attacked, you may only have milli-seconds to react). I prefer a double action capable semi-auto or a striker fired option--rather than a "cocked" 1911 with hair-trigger. A cocked 1911 with safety off in a nylon or flexible leather holster is potentially dangerous to the wearer (It can potentially fire when sitting down, because bent holster can depress the extremely light trigger). A rigid Kydex holster is best. Also, it is easy to inadvertently switch the safety "off" on a holstered 1911 by bumping against something. One alternative is to leave hammer in down position with safety off and then "thumb cock" it after drawing. However, this poses the same time wasting risk as disengaging a safety. For concealed EDC, my favorites are M&P Shield Plus, Springfield Hellcat Pro, Sig 365, Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact, or Glock Subcompact. If you train well, any gun can work effectively though. Up to personal preference and training of course. 1911 is an old, beloved design by John Moses Browning, but I feel better technology exists today. Browning never intended a manual safety switch to be added on his 1911 design (originals only had beaver-tail grip safety).

If I'm fighting for my life I'm afraid I won't think about cocking it or a safety no matter how much I practice. I carry hot in a kydex holster from pj holster. You made a great choice. My mom got the Kimber as her first gun without knowing anything about the spotty track record Kimber has on reliability. The thing is a nightmare for carry, her gun jammed once a magazine out of the box, the magazine would fall out while shooting sometimes and any jhp round would get stuck on the bottom of the feed ramp. After an RMA through Kimber, it can use jhps now, but it now fails to return to battery about once a magazine. It’s had about 300 rounds through it and according to the user manual, you need at least 500-600 rounds before it’s fully broken in. Not something I’d trust my life on. I carry a P365XL (have 1,000 rounds with minimal issues) and a VP9sk (have 300 rounds through it, needed some hot loads to have it run 115 grain but is flawless now), love both and I trust them with my life.

@@fixitrod4969 Totally agree, good news is, you can actually buy the xl grip module to modify your regular 365 and make it a P365X (XL grip with 365 slide). Sig sells it between $60-100 depending on color and what texture you want (stippled, aggressive or oem grip style). I personally got the Wilson combat P365XL grip module and I like the aggressive feel but it makes it a necessity for me to carry with an undershirt because of the aggressive texture. It’s also easy to swap the grip module (you push out a roll pin with a punch then place the fire control unit in the new grip, push the pin in and you’re done) but be warned that you will need a different magazine foot for it to fit the xl variant. So you may need to buy new magazines if you want to do the upgrade as well but it is still cheaper than a new gun regardless.
