I just love seeing how different ya'lls styles of shooting are. It goes to show that every photographer can make the same area look different through their own personal perspectives. Love the video concept, can't wait for more!
I am a fan of film photography too.. Somehow the results are much more natural and have more real dynamic range like he said.. Great work Jessica n Vuhlandes.. Brings back the memory 😍😍
Crazy to see the difference in creative styles. Jessica is more hands on and tries a lot of different angles and Vuhlandes takes one or two in each spot. Photos for both came out amazing! great collab
You’re definitely my favorite photographer creator on this platform for 2 reasons: your creativity and your laidback style when it comes to your collabs. You make friends with everyone you collaborate with and it makes me feel more like I could go out there and collaborate with people just by being myself and friendly like you are. I don’t know. It’s just super authentic and it inspires me
Miguel Barreto this def makes sense tho. If the state has bought the property, it should’ve been a public facility that everyone is basically allowed to do whatever, right? I understand if it were a private owned land..
It was someone driving around, like a park ranger-type. They don't just hang out and yell at certain people, or she would have stopped him the moment he started. There are real issues going on. There's no need to make up issues that aren't actually there.
0:49 that picture of the guy.. made me pause the picture just to admire it and write this comment. It actually made me say "dammmmmmn" Really sick man! Defo will be checking his work out!
We need you to do this kind of content with Vuhlandes again but with one more member, please ask @kingjvpes to doing this stuff again with both of you! Love this type of content!
I love film and appreciate those who do it, but the amount of elitism I’ve seen lately about it “being more accurate” or “digital isn’t real photography” in the comments comes from a lot of casuals. No, film is not more accurate. Film has a wide array of color it can produce and many times blues and reds especially look horribly inaccurate. Beyond that, film would be impossible for many jobs with the standards that are forced onto photographers now. Yes weddings, sports, etc. were all once shot on film, but the expectation that it would be perfectly sharp, with no noise, perfectly capturing a moment was not there. Digital and film have a place. If you want to make money and do photography as both a passion and a job, digital has more advantages, and let’s not forget, far less waste. And film has its advantages for making you slow down more, and having “superior colors” to some. Although that’s a load of crap to me. I have shot both, and I far prefer digital, especially when I’m working but film is more “fun” if you know exactly what you want, and aren’t trying to experiment with new techniques.
Woo Hoo....I get so excited when you have new video content! I wish I still lived in Ann Arbor, I would be so thrilled to go on a shoot challenge with you around the city of Detroit.
Wouldn’t doubt it if he was stopped because he was Black. Smh that guard didn’t stop the first photographer.....or say anything to the camera person who was filming him shoot...
She said u can't shoot here. They both can't. Vulhandes or whatever was obligated to respond because it's his project. He's responsible for his content and his team. ITS NOT ABOUT RACE
I have never shot film professionally. I belong to Northern Virginia Photographic Society and many professionals who shot film for years telingl us about carrying many camera bodies loaded with different speed films. With digital, we can change our shutter speed etc with the flick of a dial but not so with film. It is an art to be sure but you either have to be willing to carry many camera bodies or hire folks to do it for you. I loved seeing this challenge though, thanks Jessica and Vuhlandes!
Basically they need a gimbal or steady cam. They have used a warp stabiliser and kept perspective in Premier Pro, hence the Jello effect. Also the lens choice was not the best because they kept having a shallow depth of field rather than a deeper one. Example, the shot on the porch, the model is out of focus. Or, they need a camera with in body stabilisation or a phone that can apply stabilisation,
Fun challenge! He totally nailed the shot with her throwing the hat. Hope you don't get in trouble for shooting without a permit! I've just gotten a 60s Diana Camera -- looking forward to seeing what type of funky, 60's shots I can take!
I had the same conversation about film and digital, with film you really have to think about your shot because you have limited shots. Unlike digital you have a lot more shots depending on your memory card. I have done both, the darkroom is something that I miss.
Both are very cool sets of photos. I don't think there's any difference because one is digital and one is film, I just think it's down to the photographers style. I shoot with both mediums but I prefer film and in this particular instance, I prefer the digital photos. It's a close call though. 🙂
If the state bought the land, its public property which means you're free to take picture of anything you can see in public from a public place. Even if it was private property you could STILL take pictures of it FROM A PUBLIC PLACE (from the street for instance). People kill me with that "You can't take pictures here." And since most photographers don't know, they just comply and take it as fact, its not.
Was super fun. Thanks for having me on here
Loved this
I watched the one on your channel the other day
love your spirit! you and Jess vibe well together
You gave off such a fun vibe! I hope you come back for more videos soon! You're great!
My fav film photographer numba wan
No one's talking about how he nailed that hat throw shot first time with film??
That was hella impressive ngl
Good photographers don’t need autofocus, just use the zone system
@@tangyorange6509 Film for the win
sooo sick!!
Love the difference in perspective of each! She’s selling a editorial campaign. He’s selling a story with each photo. Great work both of you!
"I understand..but we gon finish these shots tho" 😂💀 as he should!!
Please have him on here more, I absolutely loved him! Also can you do more film vs digital photographers? Because I loved this video.
His photos omg

Great work Jessica n Vuhlandes.. Brings back the memory 😍😍
also it was medium format...
Same film has that 80s/90s vibe and feel to them and it looks so natural and organic compare to digital camera.
Crazy to see the difference in creative styles. Jessica is more hands on and tries a lot of different angles and Vuhlandes takes one or two in each spot. Photos for both came out amazing! great collab
Glad to see you feature a black photographer, more plz🥰
@Green Giant hush
Wow that shot with her hair over the balcony!! Looking like Rapunzel!
that one was my fav!!
I love jessica’s personality SO MUCH I wish I could have her in my pocket to cheer me up on my bad days
Yo I was anxious to see the hat throw picture when Vuhlandes said he got it, it turned out fire 🔥 I was like please tell me he got it

“Can u cuss on this channel?” Lol
I really love film aesthetic there's something nice about spontaneous shots and nostalgic colors 😍
“Permits” are the ones that hinder artists being creative. So annoying 🙄
Like they gonna sell them photos to some foreign government or some 🤦♂️
@@aaronmoiche330 right! They're not taking pictures of the govt officials anyway so..
@@ahmaddihsann7724 Wellcome to USA.
I bet the permit doesn't even exist, is just a typical Karen lying to annoy people left and right, I have seen plenty of that
Miguel Barreto this def makes sense tho. If the state has bought the property, it should’ve been a public facility that everyone is basically allowed to do whatever, right? I understand if it were a private owned land..
Loved Vuhlandes's video as well. Cheers to more photographers working and connecting together
THOSE FILM PICTURES WOT SO BEAUTIFUL AND DREAMY
Those film shots were EVERYTHING
You guys are hilarious together😂🤣
Karen didn't tell Jessica she needs a permit buuuttttt... ooookkk 🙄😒
It was someone driving around, like a park ranger-type. They don't just hang out and yell at certain people, or she would have stopped him the moment he started.

Woowww a collab i was not expecting but therally enjoyed. Big van of Vuhlandes!
Love the images of film photographer😍♥️
I saw Vuhlandes' video and was so shook that you guys did a collab!! Love you two! Stay hydrated!
I need to follow him his energy is dope lol
Yeah he’s a very humble and rad dude
I love Vuhlandes! You've gotta do another challenge with him! Bibi was great too 😊
Jess might start becoming a full time film photographer soon 🤣🤣
"Can I curse on this channel?" 😂😂 So glad y'all collabed! My fav RUclips photographers
0:49 that picture of the guy.. made me pause the picture just to admire it and write this comment. It actually made me say "dammmmmmn" Really sick man! Defo will be checking his work out!
The film pictures were amazing!
Omg Vuhlandes! I love his channel!! A dream collab
I absolutely love watching your challenge videos !! They’re so much fun !
The last time I was this early we could go outside without wearing a mask.
We need you to do this kind of content with Vuhlandes again but with one more member, please ask @kingjvpes to doing this stuff again with both of you! Love this type of content!
Kingjvpes' style is more focused on street photography. Would love to see him in a portraiture challenge like this. I'm sure he'll be killing it.
@@mylesdlm yeah! Must be epic to seeing them all challenging themselves, and make us inspired to pump up our creativity! Cant wait this happen
Kingjvpes is kind of overrated, tho. For film/portrait better having Samuel Elkins, Jonathan Notely, Matt Day or George from Negative Feedback.

I started with a film camera. I love how beautiful and natural the pictures are. I just thought it got a little to expensive for me.
In the first 90 seconds, Jessica shot a whole roll's worth on the RB. Next challenge up the ante and turn off your screen.
It depends on if the part of the "vs" is to show the pros and cons. Being able to check your exposure in real time is a definite advantage to digital.
His photos were so good
I don't Jessica but Vuhlandes images were on point. But I still know you take amazing images Jessica! Great video!
Woo Hoo....I get so excited when you have new video content! I wish I still lived in Ann Arbor, I would be so thrilled to go on a shoot challenge with you around the city of Detroit.
Always ready for Jessica’s videos bruh

Just when I am starting to be interested in film photography, jess uploads this which is exactly what i’m looking for!
my boy vuhlandes !!
Omg! Im so happy you two teamed up for this video since both of you are Detroit natives. I enjoy his channel.
Nice to see you smiling and having fun again Jess - Great vid.
these two killed it.
Vuhlandes wow 😳🔥

Your best video by far
The composition and color palette on the duo portrait at 0:53 is everything
Both personalities are fun to see together! Dope stuff guys!
WHOA!! NO WAY VUHLANDES HERE!?!?!?!? AWESOME!!!!
ayo what a coincidence, Twitter just recommended me to Vuhlandes and I saw you made this video with him on his IG.
Film, film, film!!!!
Jessica, thank you! You are one of the reasons why I am doing Photography. Much love from Philippines!
This was super cool, the photos turnt out beautiful and the model is gorgeous
Don't mean to sound strange. But what's up with the stabilisation in this video? So much jello effect.

the vibes of this video was really summer-y and fun
Jessica those portraits are perfect 😍
I respect film photographers - they compose the photo before they push the shutter rather than digital shutterbugs who rely on post processing.
Love the collab
Love this! Love both of y’all work
He did so good and of course you too Jessica 💯
he is so funny! I loved this vid!
Awesome video love both of you guys channel
You should do cinematographer vs photographer for a photoshoot. I’m from Detroit like those two and I’d love to challenge you 😊

wow his photos, beautiful!
Nice comparison.. I never had a chance to learn film photography. Thanks for sharing. Photographer support ❤️📸
I love film photography!
I really like his vibe
This girl deserves more attention than she has now like no offense but i think she's freaking great😍
Film looked a lot better!
This video came at the perfect time, I just ordered my first film camera
35mm?
Niiice. I shoot both, but I prefer film just because I suck at post processing.
Doing something and you see Jessica's video notification. Oh yes I am free😊
His pictures were so good!
I really liked this one
I was thinking an hour ago how I was ready for a new one of your videos
I'd like to see a digital vs film vs DSLR photograph challenge
Interesting takes! sometimes it's better to try different things - keeps your imagination flowing!
YESSSS so excited for this!
Cathartic, such fancy vocabulary

That karen spoiled this video🙄
Can you do natural light photographer vs flash photographer?
Such a good challenge!
Sure he wasn’t stopped for his skin colour?
Doubtful, 90% of the people on Belle Isle are black. lol
He got that last shot in first try with film camera..Thats amazing
right as i’m debating on whether to get a film camera and switch from my digital
Do it.
