Instead of spending money on this, you should do a competition and see how well your fans can edit one of your raw photos. I'm sure you'd get thousands of good and/or interesting edits!

Fiverr added the watermark.... literally says at the top: "the watermark will disappear once you accept the delivery". So you don't just take the pic and cancel order.

The watermark will be removed once you accept the delivery ^^ It's the site that does it, not the seller :)
Generally when you’re asking for retouching, hopefully the person looked at your website so they can see what your style is like. I also agree that you’ve got to be more specific With your retouching request. If you want color grading tell them you want color grading. Send them a sample image as a “Polaroid” or guide. I know this is all done online, communication is always the key If you want to establish consistency in professional relationship. Who knows, You might be able Collaborate with that retoucher outside of that website.

Yes, like pro retouchers charge 5$ and spend 1 hour to edit a picture without specific notes.

tomy tatto I start in a site call workana, doing small jobs for random photographers, until i find a photograph that need help often and now i work for her mostly.
tomy tatto but you can also talk to other photographers in your town and try to find freelancer jobs, I do it sometimes too. I don’t know about you country, but in Brazil ppl dont care much about websites so I’m starting a instagram account to show ppl my work

I would love to see your work layout on editing a picture like this.
I once gave two Fiverr video editors my recordings and six time stamps where to trim and combine, and both times gave the worse results imaginable. Scenes had me putting the phone down, moving positions, scenes I didn’t want, footage froze while audio continued, etc. Fiverr, sigh.
You're so critical for paying practically nothing. I get that's the whole schtick of this video but you'd think as a professional yourself you'd have more respect for other people in your profession and the time and effort involved in this work for such a low price. If you're gonna go in on them so hard I feel like you should at least have a disclaimer about how you've paid practically nothing, given them very little direction, and deliberately picked ones that you think will give you the most dramatic and controversial results.
I think it's a little messed up that you are posting this for the world to see. You could have at least blurred out their usernames. This should be titled "Hiring artists and ruining their reputation by putting them on blast online without telling them for 15 minutes straight". Not very professional of you I would say...

I know that it's not popular opinion, but this photo doesn't look professional to me. I've seen your work and compared to other photos you do, this look like a usual snapshot, maybe taken with "professional" camera, sharp and stuff, but doesn't have a professional look. The background distracts, the shadow on her face next to the lip looks weird, and I have a feeling it's not balanced. Maybe it was your intention to see what the best people can turn this picture into, but then don't call it "My proffesional fotography" when you post the picture is a bit chaotic and looks like taken during a break from actual photo session. Sorry if that may upset you but I like your work and this movie feels like a clickbait to me. Cheers

but this is how all of her pictures are, I am confussed because she admits she doesn't know about using strobes or flashes or even how to bounce light so dont be too harsh. this is how new photographers work, no one care about lighting or posing, it is all about make up, hair and selecting a weird outfit and call it fashion and then social media. am I wrong?

I’ve thought about making a photo retouch account on there but I was always like “ehhhhhhh I’m just ‘okay’ at it” but then after watching this I can see that I really wouldn’t have any competition 💀
Whole video I thought to myself, "sweet jesus these are freakin AWFUL. I could do a better retouch in my sleep on a bad day." then I saw they were a bunch of $7 retouches. lol, oh ok then. Yeah, If I was gonna do this on fiver for a living, I'd be doing $20 as a starting price for my lowest end work.

It's like they've never heard of frequency seperation before.... but also.... like... the photo itself is shot pretty flat, and I feel (as a total contast whore myself) that all the retouches could have benefitted from a better contrast in the highlights and shadows, imo.

This is one of the reason why people don't pay REAL PHOTOGRAPHERS as much as they should. Because of editors like these people who are just doing crappy work, wasting their time and others time who is receiving the work. Just get another hobby or passion please. If you offer services, BE PROFESSIONAL & PASSIONATE. I recently did a job, a gig, and I "overworked" and didn't get PAID as MUCH as I should have! I learned. and this here is totally the opposite! underworked and waste of time! like if you do work like this, like seriously I don't know where you will get in life, I'm so triggered, get FULL REFUND. My editing skills are not at Jessica level, but that's my goal and I would never offer service if I did work like this. period. shameful.

You definitely did the best Job they were all pretty disappointing... from the Makeup artist perspective I would be very disappointed with any of the images that they submitted "edited" I will take your editing hands down... these people should not be out here charging for this level of work...

comments say that Jessica is being judgmental when literally that is the point of the video. Like what did you expect when you read the title and saw the thumbnail of the video. I understand if your a fan and you think that this video is not really what you want to see from Jessica. However, so many of the comments come off very judgmental which is fun for what they are complaining about.

Lolz the retouches were not the best but not the worst either.
The problem in some seller is they don't apply exactly what is on their sample result. If they wanna be specific they can put a short video or simply photo/photos of their work differences in each plan so that buyer knows what to expect. More specific and accurate about offer details much better.
Japan is perfect country maybe that's why the purikura effects looks like the girl doesn't have any pours any problems

the picture at first place on the first guys portfolio is actually a mugshot from a before and after meth addiction campaign! So the only thing actually edited in it is that he removed the lines in the background that indecate they guys height :D
