Because most people in the U.S. did not take Slade seriously. Their songs from the earlier '70s were great rocking stompers! When l hear Slade, l can smell keg beer, tire smoke and cheap weed! 😎✌❤

Somehow I remembered some of the lyrics and found the song years later when the internet allowed me to search music titles. Thinking back, I should have stopped and introduced myself. No. I was avoiding relationships.

I've listened to it off and on over several days now and I'm finally starting to think in the correct words. But wouldn't it be funny if in a live performance somewhere they switched in "Far, Far, Away" on a couple of the verses. I wonder how many in the audience would realize they'd changed it, or what they'd think of the change. edit: Imagine if at the 3 repeats of Run Run Away, the middle one was instead Far Far Away. Go on, sing it to yourself with the music.

I have good understanding, but this song is baffling. Just remember that not all songs have meanings. Sometimes, words are just thrown together. Honestly, at this point...if these lyrics actually have meaning, I don't want to know. It's more fun that way.
