So with the latest update in GT7 (May 2022), they slightly adjusted the performance characteristics. As a result the car PP climbed. Make the following adjustments to get it back under 600: Downforce: Rear to 297 ECU Output: 95% Ballast: 6 lbs @48 Power Restrictor: 97 Leave everything else, it'll handle as good if not better than before, have slightly better traction and you just lose about 10hp.
I used your tuning guide to gold this event on my first try. I used 3 kg of ballast and my pp was still slightly too high so I had to add 1 unit more downforce at the rear (298). Maybe this is because of the conversion between lbs and kg? Anyways the tune worked well and the car was very easy to control. My strategy was to start with the RH tires and the fuel consumption at 1 (max) the whole race. This will let you do about 14-15 laps between each pit stop. I changed to IM tires at the first pit stop and kept changing to new IM tires at pit stop 2 and 3. It might be a good idea to not change tires at the first stop since the RH tires are not that worn after 15 laps and the rain wont arrive until lap 25-30. It may even be possible to keep the RH tires until the second tank is empty if you are willing to run them in the rain before the tarmac is completely soaked. I ran the IM tires on dry tarmac for a while after the first pit stop. The IM tires will wear out way faster so they will have to be changed each time you stop for fuel. Anyways I changed to new IM tires at the second pit stop (lap 29 I think). If you prefer you could change to W tires here since the rain will get heavier but IM will work fine if you are careful with the accelerator. I was considering to change to RH for the last pit stop at lap 44 or so, but the tarmac was still a little wet so I just changed to new IM tires. You could also fill less than full tank at the last pit stop since the race will be over at around 53 laps before you have used up the whole tank. Just make sure to not run out of gas... My laptimes were about 1:00 - 1:02 seconds with the RH tires on dry tarmac and 1:03 - 1:05 with the IM tires on dry tarmac. In the rain I did anything between 1:06 to 1:12 depending on how wet the track was. The AI cheats. They are running RS tires and still they are faster than you on the straights. The only reason this race is winnable is because they will pit to change tires way too often. I won by about 35 seconds even after running off the track once just before the finish line in heavy rain and also after the AI pit manouvered my car off the track twice. I didn`t take the lead until the last 10 or 15 minutes of the race. I don`t know how randomized the weather is but from what I`ve read it should change at roughly the same time for everyone. Light rain after about 25 minutes then dry for a little while and then heavier rain until 50 min. in or so.
Short version: Start with RH tires and fuel at 1 (max). Pit every time the tank is almost empty. Change to IM tires at every pit stop. Consider changing back to RH if the tarmac is dry at the third pit stop. The AI will be slightly faster because they are cheating (their cars probably exceed the 600 pp limit). You can beat them because they will stop way to many times to change tires. You probably wont take the lead until the final 15 minutes or so.
@@janthom91 I've seen some pretty big swings in weather. Glad the tune worked. I noticed the PP changes after the patch in May so that might have also accounted for the difference. Thanks for the summary above, that's a great recap! And the AI definitely appears to "slingshot". Not sure how else to describe it. I had a similar experience where I didn't take the lead until near the end.
Fantastic review. I tried the praisano tune like I usually do for the first 20 min and had to quit. I kept thinking the rain was coming so I stopped too early, also the car was all over the road. I’m so glad I watched this before trying again, the car as smoother and way better in the turns, and the heads up for rain on lap 20 was just what I needed. Thanks so much
Thanks a lot bro, very efficient 👌. But i kept turbo and add bit of ballast. The car behaviour is very clean and grip amazing. The weather is a real nightmare during this race… most of the time i ran with intermediar tires. You rock and your advices are ones of an expert that’s sure. Thanks
So this was interesting! I beat this race in a couple of re-tries with a stock setup. The key is as you said, don't get caught on the wrong tires. For fun I tried your setup and it was just so much more fun to drive not having to adjust to the car's shortcomings. Nice tune, Voss :)
So I ran this twice now, once on easy, once on hard. I pitted three times, AI pitted 5-6 times. On easy, I ended up 9th, 3 mins behind the leader who was racing sub 1 mins in rain. Absolutely broken. On hard, their record was 1:00 just like me but in rain the leader was still not losing any time whatsoever, while everyone else ran 6 sec slower . I ended 3rd with 40sec behind the leader. Still an incredibly hard race. I have no idea why there is such a spike in difficulty from all other races in this game to the endurance races. Either way, easy difficulty is clearly broken and must be fixed ASAP.
I've been running on hard and honestly, this race does kind of suck. There isn't much track to make up time so cornering is key. I did read that difficulty was buggy on a few of these races. I might have been lucky with the pit timing as well. This one was one of the trickier endurance races I've run.
@@Voss44 The game difficulty is definitely still bugged for the mission races. I did this race twice with it set to Easy and couldn't do better than 8th with 55 laps and finished 2 or 3 laps behind the leader. When I changed it to Hard, I won the race 15 seconds clear of 2nd with 55 laps and the exact same 2 stop strategy.
ohhh. The video was too late for me hehehe. After several attempts trying various types of setup and lines, I managed to get the gold. It was gratifying, finding a strategy that suits my lap times, as I am far from topten. Another thing that improved on me was the times, lowered by 2-3s. And I know I have several more seconds to improve. I also keep the setup to test it.
why no turbo? i noticed very low spooling even after a tune... would it be better off going without for low speed acceleration? i know this car doesnt have anti lag option... edit: just noticed youre going for under 600
Could add a turbo and dial back the ECU a bit to compensate. I beat it with this build twice so just shared what worked for me. PIT timing seems to be more important than car specs, but the turbo could give you a bit more of a breather.
Honestly, I wasn't a fan of this one either. You'll get it, I ran it a few times and noticed I typically take the lead near the end of the race due to pit timing etc.
i dont have any chance at all. even with your setup i am very fast far behind the pack. and they overlap me every 11. lap. i got lap times around 1.03(average). i run max fuel to have the second pitstop right when the rain starts and change to wet tires. i also timed it perfectly to match the other weather changes. the rest of the game was way too easy, even on hard difficulty. and now i play on easy and got no chance at all.
@@Voss44 i will try that, thank you! abs is on default. other things are all of. braking pressure a bit more in the front. i was able to get my average times to 1.02 now. i feel like coming a bit closer(if the ai doesnt make a police pit maneuver again :)

I don't think the game difficulty setting has any effect on the mission races, it only changes the world circuit races.

My car enda up with 606.37 PP. Is it because of the update?
I’m assuming so. I’ll check it out and post an update once I tune it.

You definitely should be pitting less then the AI, and that's where you'll make your gains. What assist settings do you use by chance?
Easy is bugged. They lap at around 57 secs which is impossible for us mere mortals. Change to hard and it becomes much easier!
