    Great to see a you tuber like Chris delivering the actual offroad content and answering the questions that we have been waiting for.
    As the vehicle is stock standard it takes balls to do it alone without a winch. Great content, keep it coming.

      No stress, great fun, had a reason.. needed 2000km down which we’ve done now in 5 days hehe, now we can start tow tests, and have highway fuel economy down. Heads up… tow fuel figures my guess are going to be very well in the 5-6kms to the litre though!

    Would love to know the long drive fuel economy , say a melbourne to Sydney or Brisbane with refueling and recharge on the way up . I’m very interested in the shark but BYD’s reputation on warranty issues isn’t great , the infotainment system and instrument cluster/ screen have a 60000km warranty so replacement $ would be interesting to know

    • @AllTerrainActionEV
      @AllTerrainActionEV  2 часа назад

      I can attest to warranty issues are been handled slow, unsure why it seems due to limited service centres and access to stock. Asked for full set of CVs as spares to order, am told 3-6 month wait. Unacceptable to me as a person who intends to go remote with this soon, no spares for the common failures - not a good start but it’s fixable by the manufacture if they act soon.

    Lower pressures increase puncture resistance; no need to fear sticks any more than you would with higher PSI.

    • @f1aziz

    • @AllTerrainActionEV
      @AllTerrainActionEV  2 часа назад +2

      Stock suspension at 40psi corrugated rippled gravel tracks, shark absorbs well!! We dropped to 30psi to see how much difference and not a lot, then we hit sand tracks down to 18psi. The biggest thing is about managing shock temps, more movement more heat build up, suspension can take it and make it a nice ride but don’t go hard prolonged periods, probably would prematurley kill the shocks. Lower pressure will help, 9/10 for the Shark suspension from me as factory for 2,000 of driving distance done in all sorts of conditions.

      This is an interesting ask because clearance is sealions worst issue, I did some trial and error in NSW and the smallest step give it front end body contact. Real sand could be an issue if clearance than traction capability, I will eventually test this but not at big dune.

    back in the day everybody has concerns about EVs range.but now ,i bet everyone must wondering about the batteries degradation on heavy usage.does it gives more mileage than normal i.c.e vehicle upon needing to replace the new batteries vs major engine overhaul. they (byd should sent some units to timber company to collect some data.

    • @AllTerrainActionEV
      @AllTerrainActionEV  2 часа назад

      Approx $25-30k for a battery change, 8 years 150km 70% degradation warranty but even then as long as you had 50% car would run entirely fine on hybrid the battery acts as a buffer more than anything for normal operation, you’d be just losing EV only range over time.

      That I am not sure of yet, low amp 12v system, the low voltage battery on board small as.. considering a 12v 100ah system to ac dc charger and connect to fridge as that’ll then switch to dc when 240 turns off, and back to ac when Shark is on which will also recharge the 100ah, then could run winch run back to the front but a lot of messing around for this - only preliminary thoughts I am unsure what BYD have considered offically I’m watching Ironman for this info.
