- One of the early deliveries of the BYD Shark 6 PHEV in Melbourne! It definitely offers much more than we initially expected! Consumer level testing incoming, stay tuned and.. WOW! #EVAWD #ALLTERRAINACTIONEV
Great to see a Melbourne based example to view. Will you tow ?
Yes, I have a bit of fun in unconventional off-road vehicles. The AWD classification caught my attention of the Shark more than anything, given our focus on exploring non-traditional setups one of the objectives will be to tow this camper behind the Shark 6 soon and conducting articulated pull tests similar to the one in this video, which we'll feature on our off-road channel (and some here, where its EV based related content) ruclips.net/video/SRRjbzogXd0/видео.html
Congratulations. Ive done 2000km in mine. By far the best ute i've driven. The big surprises are how solid the build quality is and how good the software is. Once you tweak a few settings it is very mild and unobtrusive but i still turn off driver monitoring which is pretty simple.
tell us all if it can climb a hill!
@@davidbarnard9740 😂
@johnno1979 What fuel economy are you getting on HEV mode?
byd software😂. the worst among other Chinese cars.
@@davidbarnard9740it's been proven it can. You need to change hands ffs
Woohoo congratulations mate, pick mine up today so excited 🛻❤👏
@@ferraltech wahooo, happy Shark day for you too!!
Congrats. Do share the experience!
Congratulations 🎉 So glad you got one 😊 as we are going to learn so much from you. Enjoy
Thanks!
Congrats excited to see what you do with it, I have one coming in the third shipment arriving end of March.
Hey, just wondering how you know what shipment yours is arriving in? I’ve had no update since I ordered.
@ on the BYD site, member portal in messages has break down of dates when ordered to approximate delivery
Congrats!
Im catching my great white tomorrow 😊
Congrats for tomorrow David!
Nicely put! Congrats. :)
Awesome mate, congratulations, look fwd to sharks chapter 🚙🚙🚙🚙
Congratulations mate!!! 👏👏👏
Congrats mate looks great looking forward to all the videos that you are going to make with
Congrats mate
Thanks Christo! You’ll love yours no doubt.
@AllTerrainActionEV look forward to off road times.
Congratulations mate!
AWSOME. BRO. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
Interested in seeing videos on freeways and around town fuel consumption are the figures released by BYD accurate!!
Would also love to see a video on the break down of how to use the display screens and functions
Give me some time with this, have to nut it all out myself. Some is similar to Sealion 6 while the new system has many more settings and it seems to offer more saftey features, once I' have a good idea I'll share what I know - my guess by around this time next week as we're taking many afternoons for the next week to make videos and work things out!
@ awesome thanks
Great video
Looking forward to seeing how you fit it up in connection with your 'corporate' location
I don’t understand this comment 😅 please rephrase.
@@AllTerrainActionEV Sorry, your factory - with all your gizmos
@ ah I see haha. 🤣 the shark plays a vital role 😜🤳
Yeah if i end up with one i will keep it stock as a rock except for the rear bed slide cover.
70% SOC HEV for first 2000km is recommended to run in the ICE engine. Plus normal running in norms for petrol engines.
Just tried to book in my service end of Feb for my 3,5000km ahead of time as I will be around that by then easily. Gotta get to that 2k so we can start doing tow tests with the TVAN.
Great video. Where are you getting your checker plate cover from?
I am unsure yet, this is what we want. MAC utes makes one I want, but I may just get one made as I’ve got laser and bender contacts. Hydraulic arm lift etc, may be possible to make it water tight too, but all comes down to R&D - if it can be done for around a $2k budget you’ll see it eventually.
Looks great
Drives great!!
@AllTerrainActionEV excellent. Jealous here in the usa
@@onetwothreefour-s1n ohh a US watcher! These things just are something else, although I’m sure as I drive it more I’ll accustom to it more… but for Aussie price and what you get it feels value for money - as long as it lasts what an average tradie ownership would be like which is around 5-7years (120k kms (75k miles) to 140k kms (87k miles) then I think it’s a fair contender in the market - all signs point to yes but only time will tell.
Where did you order the hard lid cover from? thanks
Luv your vids mate. Do as many urban vids as you can before u turn it into an off roader.
I will do my best, I’m curious as to why one would be interested in this as an urban vehicle for its size. Initially off the bat the difference of running the Sealion 6 vs Shark 6 in urban conditions is almost double in power usage, and maybe 30-40% more fuel.
@@AllTerrainActionEV currently have a v6 ranger and do trailer dump runs, use for my business with place large items in the tray and taking the vehicle on road trips. Ute sits u up higher for those road trips and larger for the family.
@@jasonk6352 I'm curious why you think sitting up higher is good for road trips? Maybe for seeing over things at junctions in cities, but doesn't it just make it burn more fuel/energy at higher speeds?
We need more competition.
As in people making videos or, PHEV utes/offroaders in general?
11:55 what's the height of this dude? Just trying to gauge the size of the Shark. It looks massive. Saw one in the wild for the first time a few days ago here in Wellington, as it flew past me on the motorway. It's a lot sleeker looking in the flesh.
It’s around 2.1 tall including antenna.
@@AllTerrainActionEV Thanks!
Nice video. It would be great if you could do a tow test with fuel economy before you modify it.
@@michaelfink64 yeah I’m struggling to not want to test some off road capability in this, early on - so I’m trying to organise a second set of wheels so can switch between them for videos hehe!
@@AllTerrainActionEV Good idea
If i could would have one too, same colour, but with electric rear and maybe a bull bar
cant wait for mine too(trade for my 4n15)
2:35 to summarize this video with one phrase...
@@goforitkesong 😂😂
What camera did you use to film this video? The quality is so good
We're using a mix of footage from the iPhone 16 in 0.5x view with AWB, alongside shots from the Sony ZV-E10 paired with an 11mm f/1.8 lens and software-based video stabilisation. The Sony camera is a recent addition, thanks to feedback from previous videos and yes for those who keep mentioning the audio quality issue I hear you! I'll try to use clip-on mics whenever possible, but since these videos are often filmed on the go, while im on client jobs I don’t always have the opportunity to set up all the gear. Do try our best!
Looks the goods im keen to see a wagon version.
Did it also come with a full tank of electricity?
@@jasonfields2793 I shouldn’t be saying this, but when the BYD Denza B5 launch night comes I’ll be there… and maybe we may also get one of those here 😂
@@AllTerrainActionEV i do prefer a wagon
Are you to bringing it on the big desert trip
In Easter with ATA? Yes.
The only problem with these very intelligent cars is eventually insurance companies will be able to download absolutely everything including your eyes not being on the road. It’s not an issue now, but makes me think it won’t be long before it happens, and they can decline claims because you were not paying attention. Nice car though.
Indeed true and not to mention, if something goes wrong - where do you start! Tow truck and service centre the only way, in the hands of a dealer… still I’m a fan of electric first vehicles so hopefully we can see some reliability soon.
Laughed so hard when the Indian music started playing , I thought it was the welcome tone 😂
Nothing wrong with that at all! I’m just not familiar with their music, that’s all. Definitely a great culture with amazing people!
Does the suspension feel more dialed in ?
Without any doubt. I am very happy from my initial highway run lastnight and cornerning tests at speed. More tests need to happen off road and in the wet but initial feedback knowing what the Sealion 6 has (previous to the manufacture fixes) I think most will be very happy.
@ did you see that the Sealion 6 for 2025 has its suspension re tuned? Also please do a fuel consumption for both the sealion and shark
@@misterjay4347 I did see the 2025 update note for SL6 yes. I am yet to drive one with the update though to give feedback on.
Had an extensive drive today in the updated suspension on the SEALION.
I felt it was a very good compromise for comfort vs handling.
Sport mode felt good for steering weight (still lightish) and accelerator response.
Looking forward for mine in around 4 weeks.🎉
Thanks for doing this mate.
Any chance you could shed some light on the average fuel consumption when cruising at 110kph on, say, the Sydney to Melbourne highway?
Also, I’m a bit stumped on when should the engine kick in and what the best SOC setting would be for that kind of drive to get the most out of the fuel efficiency. Any tips?
Ta!
Possibly I'll have this result after this weekend as we are doing quite a bit of driving over the weekend for the purpose of some consumer testing videos for you guys!

Bro next month will come to Philippine Shore... i think worth 2.3 Million Pesos and 3Million Pesos
GOOD. VIDEO. B Y D. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This weirdo has commented 3 times on this video. Wtf
Is the AVAS sound the same as BYD Sealion 6?
Yes, most sounds are the same.
What rim and tyre size are you going to run?
I'll get back to you although the feeling is I will stick with stock alloys for now and go to 32.6 rolling which is around 1" larger (I think) but dont quote me, I have a contact from Bridgestone Select Hampon Park helping me out with working out a middle ground for now and then perhaps after Simpson Desert crossing in June, when we get back if all is well - we will try to go up another size. Lots to learn, cant default to biggest that will fit.
Yeah, naaaaaaaaa
数年後、BYDを購入したことを後悔している動画を観たい😂
When you're so sour, you'll only get less and less wanting to live.
