I've been following them individually and with their respective bands for several years and had seen each of them live and finally got to see them together at the Ryman last year. Of the 3 Aoife is my favorite. Check out her Paste session.
This is the second video I've seen with these fantastic 4. I'm hooked. They are all so talented and love performing. Once they start playing it's like a light ignites not only in their being but mine as well. Hope to hear more and more and more. And Billy Strings is totally enjoying himself, loving their voices an they way they perfectly harmonize with each other, content to at least try to stay in the background and humbly play his guitar. I would love to hear him play live someday either by himself or with other musical artists. He's a legend in the making.
Wow. Billy is so classy. So understated and stays completely in the supporting role. How does he hold himself back? That is amazing musicianship. My opinion of him just went even higher than it already was. I didn’t know that was possible. How does someone like that end the whole set with a gentle feathering of a D chord. It reminds me of a scene in “Schindler’s List”. He says “real POWER is not the ability to blow someone away, it is having the ability to blow someone away and choosing not to.” (Not a direct quote). I think that may be the definition of meekness. It’s a beautiful thing. I witnessed it graphically just now. And the vocals are all amazing too, obviously. Thank you for sharing it with us.
My goodness that harmony was amazing ! Great job Always enjoy Ya ....Billy Strings ... delighted to see this generation playing this genre . Gosh fun to listen 👂 can’t sit still lol 😆
Does Billy Strings ever have a bad or even average "guest appearance" with anyone? Amazing job EVERY time. Just a great musician with great musical sense, he never steps all over anyone or the song. How any of these 4 musicians and their contemporaries are not mainstream superstars, but lil nas x is shows what a sad state country music is in at the moment.
He was born with a guitar in his hands. At least that's what I think happened. How else could someone play any genre of music so perfectly every time. He never tries to steal the show and he definitely could. Totally in sync with whoever he plays with. Refined, thoughtful, and considerate are three adjectives I would use to describe him when he plays.
The young talent in Bluegrass is amazing. It's like there's a breeding ground pumping these kids out. It may be the most exciting time in music since the late sixties/early seventies.
@reality check, that all bluegrass doesn't sound alike. If it doesn't to you, you're not connected. That's fine, music is extremely subjective. But instead of dismissing an entire genre, just say it isn't your cup of tea.
Wait a minute. There's a woman who's a Massachusetts-born folkie, a Texan Americana artist and a bluegrass artist from California (the fiddler, who was the one that actually brought me to tears.) They're seasoned performers who more or less drifted into bluegrass, all in the age range of about 40, and they're all at least as well known as Billy. This isn't exactly Glee Goes to Appalachia.
they make this look so easy.....but I know it's a lot of hard work and talent. My Dad would be so proud to know I'm still listening to music i grew up with!! There's hope for music of the future!!!
Aoife singing lead with strength and purpose. Sarah and Sara follow suit. Great harmonies and solid playing, Billy assists ably too. Individual talents working together.
Didn’t know Sarah Palin could play the fiddle like that!! Just kidding-Fantastic and reminds me of my grandparents house in the backwoods of Louisiana. MORE PLEASE
Let the rest of the world have Cardi B and Shawn Mendez, I’ll stay right here, been following these girls careers for many years, not sure how Billy slipped past me. Catching up on his back catalogue now.
I Went to THE 1ST NIGHT OF THE TOUR 2/13/19 THE NIGHT BEFORE VALENTINES DAY 💞WQW IT WAS ON THE SPOT🎯IT WAS SO HOT🔥🎶 LEFT EVERY ONE WITH PEP IN THEIR STEP😆
no - he re-tunes ........ drops the low E to a D......... very few people would even think of this.... much less doing it live, in the middle of a song ............. he is so good!!
It's an effect Earl Scruggs is credited with. It takes a really good ear to slide a note with a peg. Most people use "Scruggs pegs" which do the same thing without the guesswork.
Must be nice to feel like you can be critical when you didn't pay anything to support the artist or spend a day traveling to get to the show but you still get to see it.
awesome recording, you can hear the singers inhale on the last song at the last - if this recording sounds bad to you get your ears or sound equipment checked
Pardon me ladies, while I take an extra chorus on this solo, and OH, I'm going to drop my low E down to drop D in between choruses real quick...like I'm Earl Scruggs playing a banjo, but I'm not, it's a guitar, and that's incredibly difficult to do in one pass on a guiar without needing to adjust...but I did it flawlessly because...? I'm Billy Strings.
Young folk breathing new life into old tyme and bluegrass wasn't on my bingo card when I began to love the genres.
I've never heard of these ladies, but they just blew me away. So great.
Billy is the man.
Billy brought me here but WOW I'm blown away by the talent of these 3 ladies.
I've been following them individually and with their respective bands for several years and had seen each of them live and finally got to see them together at the Ryman last year. Of the 3 Aoife is my favorite. Check out her Paste session.
I am blown away by the Mandalin player. She looks and sounds like an angel

Same here.
So profound and philosophical of a comment,, yet I was thinking "if she pokes Billy with that stick I will find her"........
I love watching him interact w other musicians. Just fabulous.
David Peightal Right on. Let the truth be spoken!
Lol. Thats exactly what was said to SS KZ Leader Armin Goetz in the Movie "Schindlers Liste". I doubt that quote
blue grass's future is in very capable hands. These talented ladies are amazing
My goodness that harmony was amazing ! Great job

@reality check, I don't think you're listening properly.
@reality check, just defending all the other Bluegrass artists that sound nothing alike.
@reality check, same thing my parents said about rock & roll in the sixties.

I went to this concert in Wilmington. I was so pleased that they came to our town. I’m a big Billy Strings fan. But the lady’s rocked the house too !
they make this look so easy.....but I know it's a lot of hard work and talent. My Dad would be so proud to know I'm still listening to music i grew up with!! There's hope for music of the future!!!
What can You Say that Vibe Made my Day
They are all fantastic but Sara gives me chills!
Four very good artists.... From France.
Aoife singing lead with strength and purpose. Sarah and Sara follow suit. Great harmonies and solid playing, Billy assists ably too. Individual talents working together.
Heavenly harmonies again from these ladies!! And Billie’s guitar... what can you say?
I love their cover of Dolly's Marry Me. I've been watching all the versions I can find online. They do a great job with it.
I'm not a religious man but 3 girls singing harmonic bluegrass/folk.is heaven to me. Like a blanket for the soul.
I agree 100%! Beautifully described❤️
Didn’t know Sarah Palin could play the fiddle like that!! Just kidding-Fantastic and reminds me of my grandparents house in the backwoods of Louisiana. MORE PLEASE
Sarah P. is pretty go on her 'snow machine' and 30.06, but not the fiddle so much.
There is hope for humans and these 4 kids prove it❤️🙏

The outro on his solo there back to the 1 is 🔥....those extra pull offs
Awesome.
So honest so real so true......love them all......wish the recording was of better quality.....

What is the name of the actual song?
Pardon me ladies, while I take an extra chorus on this solo, and OH, I'm going to drop my low E down to drop D in between choruses real quick...like I'm Earl Scruggs playing a banjo, but I'm not, it's a guitar, and that's incredibly difficult to do in one pass on a guiar without needing to adjust...but I did it flawlessly because...? Billy Strings is one note-bending impressario
Not as good as BlackPink :[) LoL ''''''''''
I think Billy has more class those those 3 put together
Class? No one has more class than "those 3" as you refer to I'm With Her.
@@MojoMusicMedia Jesus no kidding wtf, class? Who says that? Fing douche baggage! Brings new meaning to huh? Butch thunk?
