I really wish it was an option on the main-line ecoboost/GT models. Making it available on the models ABOVE the Darkhorse is going to really limit the buyers. There are alot of Mustang buyers who would love an AWD option so they can safely drive their cars year round.
Did you not see where I said it would be a great OPTION. I hate convertibles, but I don't care if Ford makes a convertible Mustang. Options are a good thing, and will only extend the life of the Mustang.

Unfortunately, due to ever more restrictive CAFE standards, they can't afford to release a new car to their lineup, so if they want to get back into the passenger sedan market, the mustang is their only option.
I wish Ford would give us a cheap bare bones v8 Mustang, like the 90s Mustang LX 5.0. .. instead of me paying 60 grand how about a $39,000 bare bones Corvette killer, remember the 90s LX 5.0 could keep with the vettes for half the price...

Id love to see a new Cobra and Cobra R. They'll definitely be expensive though. Id expect a new Boss is probably down the line once Ford discontinues the Dark Horse. The Dark Horse is a letdown to me personally. A lot more money for not all that much more than a GT. I also hope the coupe loses some weight in the future. It's getting way too heavy.
@TurboquandoGaming the dark horse lap times are all with the handling pack which adds 305 wide tires. The regular dark horse isn't setting much better lap times than a PP GT and a PP GT with aftermarket 305 width tires is going to do really well against a dark horse. It's all tires. There isn't any major difference with the dark horse.
A new Cobra 🐍 would be Awesome!!! Either way Ford goes with that or the BOSS….It’s good to hear that Mustang is still coming in strong!!! I remember at the 🐎 60th celebration in Charlotte. There was a silhouette of a teaser, that left us all wondering!
Just my opinion personally I think they should leave the Mustang name alone there is no need to build five different vehicles and put the Mustang name on all of them the Mustang is a front engine rear wheel drive sports cars / muscle car and should be left that way. I realize technology moves on and that's fine for ford to expand but you can create new vehicles and not have to use the Mustang name on them.

I think its a little more complex then that. The mustang sales but not in huge or high volume numbers and nowhere near compared to trucks and SUVs and crossovers. In order to keep the name plate alive I think they need to expand the mustang line up to attract more and new buyers otherwise it will die like the camaro and challenger.
They definitely should have just brought back the Taurus, gave it some aggressive body panels and 5.2 supercharged it. Same with the explorer and then Shelby the Mach E to compete with the plaid etc. If they had done this there would never be a reason to keep messing with the mustang. Beef up the existing cars instead of trying make the mustang a sedan. Next it will be a truck. Then a small ev version like Chevy volt size lol.

If you have ev and hybride models it allows Mustang to build gas guzzling models and still stay within CAFE regulations . If it was under Ford the Mustang will have a limited future due to the trucks and suv leaving little room in the CAFE limit for performance vehicles . Watch for a ev/ hybrid Bronco soon .

This is what I feel about the situation Ford needs to leave the Mustang alone because it's already perfect! Now yes please come out with a four-door performance vehicle different design different name of course with the 5.0 V8 option! I think the new performance model is going to be called the Cobra and not the Boss because the previous s197 Boss was on the same level as the Mach 1 and the Dark Horse. With the Dark Horse currently in production, that's why I'm thinking it'll be called the Cobra and it will be boosted.
I think Ford needs to distinguish between its Mustang nameplates better, too. What distinguishes a Cobra from a Boss and what distinguishes a Mach 1 from a Dark Horse or a PP2? Do all models have a distinctive purpose like the Boss and GT350 and R versions seem to, or are they models that just house the latest street technologies, like the Cobra, PP2, Mach 1 and Dark Horse seem to be?

If the s650 mustang can accommodate four doors, a resurrection of the Ford Falcon, 2.3 and 5.0, with a manual option, would be all the things BMW just can't build with their blind insistence on turning Bimmers into fragile Swiss watches. Four door V8 means 'government fleet vehicle', it means one-for-all sport/family sedan, I'm hoping they call it 'Falcon' and not test the idea of diluting Mustang into a sub-brand.
Ford has to stop with naming every new car a Mustang, just like the Mach-E should have just been called a Mach-E, not a mustang. I traded my 2022 Mustang GT for a 2023 Mach-E GT Performance and love it, its 480hp and 610tq, I added an Aero Kit all around and Bigger and Wider Wheels and Tires. While I miss my gas guzzler I really do save a lot of money on gas that's for sure, it was a tough decision, but I can't see going back to gasoline anytime soon.

That said, I love Ford's, and have been disappointed in the lack of support for all things Mustang. The Mustang II, the Mustang SVO, the EcoBoost Mustang, and the Mustang Mach-E, ARE all Mustangs, full stop, 'Nuff Said! Disagree, as you like, we all have that right, but without the Mustang II, there would not have been a continuous Mustang, Ford might not have been as successful, and you might be "Subaru WRX-Mode"😅 Seriously, as Jay Leno said, paraphrasing, we should learn to appreciate the cars for what they are, learn how to drive them, and pull out their highest capabilities! I would love a new Cobra, if they do them like the 2003-2004 Cobra Terminators. And since it sounds like Ford is at least parterning with RTR, RTR has now offered a Mystichrome paint option. And they have the Ford Performance Whipple supercharger. Let’s put it all together now: 2025 Mustang Cobra with supercharger and an optional Mystichrome paint. 700+HP, 650+ torque. (They prob wouldn’t drop something with more HP than the GT500 for now) If that is truly what happens - SIGN ME UP!
I'm not against all of these vehicles existing, but they really need to stop using the Mustang name for everything. They have a Bronco and the Mustang has never been for off road lmao.
If the new "Cobra" isn't making over 900+hp or 1000+hp factory stock then just f-off, and don't make it a track car, we already have the Darkhorse for that job, we want straight line top speed monster

Because the GTD is much, MUCH more than its powerplant. Honestly its suspension and overall drivetrain components are so insane that the powerplant isnt even the most interesting thing about it. Obviously the Cobra wont be anywhere near the track monster that the GTD is.

Horsepower isn't everything nor does it always warrant a six figured price tag. When you buy a Porsche you're buying the quintessential performance car experience. Which is exactly what Ford aimed to do with the GTD. You're buying the ultimate track monster from Ford, and I guarantee whatever this next variant is isn't gonna touch the GTD in overall performance, which is what Ford intends.

04 Cobra Owner here, if they do bring a 2025 Cobra, the best way for it to sale, THE MOTOR has to be different, I am sure I am speaking to all 0304 Cobra owners, if they just throw a 5.0 motor in this car, it will not sell, that is one main reason the 0304 Cobra is the LEGEND it is today

I remember reading something 10 years ago on how ford wanted to turn the “Mustang” into a brand instead of a model. I can see ford releasing mid to large suvs, sedans, and budget friendly mustang. It’s just a matter of will they be combustion engines or EVs
The 4-door Mustang must be large enough to be classified as a full-size sedan. Otherwise it won’t exactly fill the Charger’s void. Assuming it’ll be an American full-size RWD sedan, it would become an ideal commercial vehicle which has historically been a vehicle with such features for decades. As a result, the GT would be an ideal police car and the EcoBoost would be an ideal taxi. This means it could be a spiritual successor to the Crown Vic.

I think it’s great that Ford is trying to give us new and innovative variants of the mustang. I think it would be cool if on top of the Cobra, they brought back some of GT350 heritage with a lesser version of the GTD. I still don’t think Mustang really has line a track focused mustang that the GT350 used to fill.
The CT4 blackwing has been found testing along side a mustang on the Ford proving grounds. The new sedan could be targeting that for American mid range performance sedan
There is nothing wrong with making a new 4 door car or a "Raptor inspired" offroad car but don't call it a Mustang. There are lots of names out there and let the Mustang remain a 2 door 2+2 sporty coupe. It's great all these high-end, high-priced Mustangs are being built. If you're rich or you want to be in dept and car-poor. Sure wish Ford would offer a more budget HP Mustang - think the 80's LX 5.0s. No frills, just analog gauges, no wings and aero stuff, decent brakes, a strong 5.0 and 6-speed manual option, priced in the $40Ks.

Guys, the mustang name survived the mustang 2 era, and the rest of the 70s to the 90s just fine, and almost every mustang from that era is a slow, hideous piece of garbage compared to what we have today. If the mustang can survive being based on a 4 cyl pinto chassis with like 80 hp, I highly doubt having some badass, rip snorting 500 hp monster is gonna hurt the mustang brand just because it has two extra doors. Lap times explain why the dark horse is superior than gt , it has it's purpose.

Had Ford not built the Mach E we would be in the similar situation as GM & Dodge and no Mustang V8 5.0 engine. It doesn’t take much brilliance to understand this. They tell us this at all the Car Shows!!!! I don’t care for any EV vehicle; however, I am very happy to have our Mustang GT V8!!!!!

My name is Roy, I live in Metro Detroit, and in spite of rain today and tomorrow, the DreamCruise, which you have attended before, is off and running! In 4 days, I celebrate my 70th birthday, so I have been around as a car enthusiast a little longer than a lot of you, grew up in a GM Family because my Dad worked in a Chevrolet plant. That said, I love Ford's, and have been disappointed in the lack of support for all things Mustang. The Mustang II, the Mustang SVO, the EcoBoost Mustang, and the Mustang Mach-E, ARE all Mustangs, full stop, 'Nuff Said! Disagree, as you like, we all have that right, but without the Mustang II, there would not have been a continuous Mustang, Ford might not have been as successful, and you might be "Subaru WRX-Mode"😅 Seriously, as Jay Leno said, paraphrasing, we should learn to appreciate the cars for what they are, learn how to drive them, and pull out their highest capabilities! That's your challenge as a Driver, whether you are a Drag Racer, Drifter, Auto-Crosser, Rally Driver.....whatever you love doing, because Ford has made these Mustang variations, we still have our beloved Original Pony Car(the pretenders are all gone, 'Nuff said, and don't get me wrong, because I miss Pontiac GTO, Grand Prix, and the awesome Firebird, and its Trans Am form), and there is only one True Pony Car, hell, the name says it all, "Mustang", grab your Pony and ride! I would love a new Cobra, if they do them like the 2003-2004 Cobra Terminators. And since it sounds like Ford is at least parterning with RTR, RTR has now offered a Mystichrome paint option. And they have the Ford Performance Whipple supercharger. Let’s put it all together now:
2025 Mustang Cobra with supercharger and an optional Mystichrome paint. 700+HP, 650+ torque. (They prob wouldn’t drop something with more HP than the GT500 for now)

It seems odd the the Cobra would have the same HP as the GTD
Because the GTD is much, MUCH more than its powerplant. Honestly its suspension and overall drivetrain components are so insane that the powerplant isnt even the most interesting thing about it. Obviously the Cobra wont be anywhere near the track monster that the GTD is.

My point is why would Ford use the same engine and HP rating for cars of the same MY that will most likely be $200,000+ difference in MSRP? Multimatic builds the GTD and will make it next level but there should still be a difference in HP ratings like there is in every other car built.

Horsepower isn't everything nor does it always warrant a six figured price tag. When you buy a Porsche you're buying the quintessential performance car experience. Which is exactly what Ford aimed to do with the GTD. You're buying the ultimate track monster from Ford, and I guarantee whatever this next variant is isn't gonna touch the GTD in overall performance, which is what Ford intends.

04 Cobra Owner here, if they do bring a 2025 Cobra, the best way for it to sale, THE MOTOR has to be different, I am sure I am speaking to all 0304 Cobra owners, if they just throw a 5.0 motor in this car, it will not sell, that is one main reason the 0304 Cobra is the LEGEND it is today

I remember reading something 10 years ago on how ford wanted to turn the “Mustang” into a brand instead of a model.
I can see ford releasing mid to large suvs, sedans, and budget friendly mustang.

The 4-door Mustang must be large enough to be classified as a full-size sedan. Otherwise it won’t exactly fill the Charger’s void. Assuming it’ll be an American full-size RWD sedan, it would become an ideal commercial vehicle which has historically been a vehicle with such features for decades. As a result, the GT would be an ideal police car and the EcoBoost would be an ideal taxi. This means it could be a spiritual successor to the Crown Vic.

There is nothing wrong with making a new 4 door car or a "Raptor inspired" offroad car but don't call it a Mustang. There are lots of names out there and let the Mustang remain a 2 door 2+2 sporty coupe. It's great all these high-end, high-priced Mustangs are being built. If you're rich or you want to be in dept and car-poor. Sure wish Ford would offer a more budget HP Mustang - think the 80's LX 5.0s. No frills, just analog gauges, no wings and aero stuff, decent brakes, a strong 5.0 and 6-speed manual option, priced in the $40Ks.

People bitching about a new V8 RWD sedan is insane. Guys, the mustang name survived the mustang 2 era, and the rest of the 70s to the 90s just fine, and almost every mustang from that era is a slow, hideous piece of garbage compared to what we have today.
If the mustang can survive being based on a 4 cyl pinto chassis with like 80 hp, I highly doubt having some badass, rip snorting 500 hp monster is gonna hurt the mustang brand just because it has two extra doors. Like WTF.
