The bare schurzen rail is just that - so you can model tanks with just the rails and no schurzen; or, you can cut the rail off the schurzen, clip some of them off and stick the remainder to the bare rails so have tanks which have lost some of the plates as can be seen in some period photos. It's not hard to do and adds some nice variety to your units. Oh, and metal infantry are best. Fact. 😉
regarding the difficult sprue gates eg the bow machine gun, one little trick you can do if you dont have or are concerned using an blade or clippers, is an hot needle, heat it in an flame/on your stove for an bit and VERY carefully(its hot after all) use the needle to melt the sprue gate connecter off. has worked for me an couple times, ideally an sharp hobby knife works best, but if you want an alternative xd.
Came for the review, stayed for the history, it’s definitely a unique and very welcomed twist, always nice to understand the background information and history behind a set , great review and great video, also the Pz.IV J and Panther D were the late war “budget” Versions

@@ModellingforAdvantage funnily enough I only found that out through playing flames of war! I found it in the old Earth and Steel sourcebook and did a bit of digging of my own afterwards!
@@rich_john Probably, maybe even different suspension. I can't remember the differences, but I remember them being noticeably different look at side by side.
The only thing the luchs had in common wlwith the earlier panzer 2s was the armament. Basically everything else was different. Different Hull, different suspension, different engine and drive train, different turret, different track links, etc.
Perhaps the Panzer IIs were vehicles from the training school's tank pool to train crews. A small, reliable tank to train new drivers makes sense to me. They'd suffice for reconnaissance work, and, let's face it, a third rate tank is better than no tank.
Has the restless Kaiser considered doing a series on the evolution of each factions tanks, artillery, etc...? I am sure that you would get many views. just out of curiosity what subject do you teach?
Flammpanzer 38 is what the "laser" barrel is for, its a Flamethrower variant, about 50 were made.
nice, thanks for the info.

Thanks for the tip!
Really enjoyed it guys, especially the "rambling bs"... my favourite bit :)
Thanks mate, appreciate the support.
Really enjoy watching the show because I always come away learning a bunch of stuff!
Most kind sir, thank you.

Hmm, might have to try this.

Great review. Continue the discussion around the miniature its the main attraction ^^
Thanks for the endorsement mate, we want to offer something different to the usual 10 minute sprue check that everyone else does.
I'm still slowly assembling my FoW stuff along with 40k during my school semester. I love these videos.
Glad you like them!
@@ModellingforAdvantageThe interspersed history parts are great, really adds to it.
in the battle of Berlin there was a mysterious variant of the panzer 1 with the 75mm cannon
Interesting
Surely it was turretless? No way a panzer 1 would work with a 75 in a turret!

Awesome presentation. I didn’t know the Luchs had low production numbers. Warm wishes, kev
About 100.
Great review of the new starter set :)
Thanks mate.
Tiger II’s first saw combat in Normandy, around Caen, opposing the British during operation Goodwood
Yeah, after the video I had a quick look - seems some very low numbers were used throughout 44.

Great box opening, with a bonus history lesson👍👍...The panzer 2s...they're probably Pz2 Luchs...used in the reconnaissance role
Sadly not the L; that has a quite different look to it.
@Modelling for Advantage yes you're right..I think they were a bit bigger.

Very interesting! Enjoyed the history chat as well as the wee models.
Glad you enjoyed it mate. Much more to come on this release.

Worth thinking about some day.
Tiger II's were introduced just before Normandy
aye
My, my, now that's what I call a bookcase!
I even read most of them!
Great vid, thanks.
Glad you liked it!
The other Hetzer gun is for a flamthrower version.🤓
Thanks.
Could the panzer 2 model be used as the panzer 3 observer substitute?
I am sure most opponents would be fine with that.
When it comes to the accuracy of stormtroopers, I’ve always gone on the basis that the peace loving empire mostly fires warning shots
Ivan Konev was the guy you can’t remember 😂
Thanks.
Thanks for the viendo
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
"PanzerNakker" 😂
Great word isn't it.
@@ModellingforAdvantage Yes it is, thnx for the laughs 😁
Ramble away
Thanks mate
This is an unboxing? It's just rambling BS!
It all went down very well in the chat.
Our style is obviously not to everyone's taste. We include a lot of history with our reviews.
