Thank you so much for this interview. Tarja is always so honest and humble. Her combination between deep dark moments and her joy for life always inspires me. I absolutly adore her!!
What a wonderful and relaxed interview. Very good questions. It was interesting to find out that Tarja chose the songs according to the children and chose children from the neighborhood for the choir for Dark Christmas. She is so chatty that it must be a pleasure to interview her.
Awesome interview! Tarja saying what we were all thinking, yeah, the original Christmas songs suck. Not because they are bad, but their overplaying in all sorts of commercial situations turns them into the perfect display of all that is wrong with Christmas. Knowing that Tarja picked the songs, even if she does not enjoy them, to transform them into something beautiful, really shows how determined she is. How ingenious. She could have easily made an orchestral album with some chanting, and everyone would be singing her praise. However, this is much more challenging, we all know that is Tarja's middle name. I also take my hat off to her and how she is so candid about the way her story with Nw ended. It will always be something that will follow her around. She flat out says she was “destroyed mentally”. She did not know if people would show up to see her. It still blows my mind, the whole clusterfuck she was thrown into. Regardless, for as much shock and disgust the firing caused, I cannot imagine Tarja still being with them, or any other band for that matter. I simply cannot. Knowing Tarja today, having been to her concerts and knowing her music, she is not that kind of person any more. Not just because they've changed, and she changed, but because she is just so much more than an interpreter, so much more. Her music is genuinely good music, well composed, complex, passionate, she has developed immensely as a singer as well. It gets to a point that you need to spread your wings, just shameful that she had to be shot down first.
While I found Tarya through Nightwish, I really love her solo music. She's such a bright light, all in artist. Went to her concert in Vegas last year and felt she was as happy to play for us as we were to be there for her. Thanks for a wonderful interview.
Tarja, you make us so happy with your music and talent. We are enjoying every song, new and old. Also, I love the fact that you are so passionate with your fans in concerts. You are a true queen!
Yeah, I'm the same!😅 I don't really enjoy the original versions of the songs on that album, with few exceptions... but Tarja made them enjoyable. Also, my favourite Christmas song has always, since I was a little kid, been Varpunen Jouluaamuna. Thank you! This was a really interesting interview😊 I love how humble and down to earth Tarja is.
So glad I found this channel. This was such a relaxed and very professional interview , with very smart questions not just related to the singer Tarja but also to the human / woman and what she went through that helped her grow as a human and artist too ... Congrats 🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉
It's been a month already, didn't find the time to watch the interview completely. I can only say that this is one of the best Tarja interview's in a long time I've seen - finally an interviewer not always asking the same boring questions - good work! ❤
Christmas music was destroyed for me when I started working retail, I always loved it before. Tarjas version of the songs brought back the joy. Leaving the mall and all the commercialised songs during my december shifts and get on the bike and put in her and Enyas and Blackmore's Nights and Loreena McKennits songs directly afterwards was soulsaving. After leaving retail I still don't listen to the commercial songs. I've not listened to this album yet, other than her own track and two other songs. I'm waiting for December.
Wonderful interview ❤😊 The questions were great and the interviewer was well prepared and gave her so much space to just speak in a relaxed space. She's amazing, so great to hear her thoughts not only on the new album but music and life in general ❤😊
Christmas wonder was lost for me at the age of 24 when my Mother passed away, I enjoyed Christmas watching my 2 Sons but they have long grown up. This album and "From spirits and Ghosts" touched my soul and I completely connect with them. Thank you for such a great interview 💞
I lost my mother before Christmas too. I totally get Tarja's take on it and losing the sense of Christmas. I'm glad you are able to enjoy it for your children.
@@bridgetmccracken1381 thank you so much for that. Christmas was her favourite time of year. But I am learning to love it again by spending it with family this year.bitvwould make her happy. 😊
This oe and Spirits and Ghosts makes me think of Christmas in another era. The old carols are not commercial jingles. I remember the old Latin Carols. Reminders of another time and place. Not knowing the meaning of the lyrics made me rely on the melodies.
I think your album Dark Christmas is outstanding, though I loved your first one to. Just can't get anybody to like it sorry it's just too dark for them well anyway have a Merry Christmas.
I ' ll bet she must have had a very good musicteacher by herself. But I really don't know....why this has been at. Karlsruhe. 🤷♀️ I mean how does she hous found her way to germany ???? I think she don't speak very much german. But I know that her english is pretty good and is although able to speak spain and finnish is her mothertongue / native language ❤️🙌 . But maybe she has had some Friends at germany....but where does her narratives are from ??? How is she able to speak 4 languages nearly fluenty. ...She must have an awsome capaticity / Kapazität. ....I could not Imagine...even to speak only one language fluenty. My problem is....I really can'not stay with only one word....or lange ...they always so cross each other.

Единственная и уникальная Тарья!
I also adore Tarja. There were many betrayals in Tarja's life. but she passed these moments with success.

Tarja produces the best christmas song versions.
What a wonderful interview with so many positive messages. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

WOW digg the story about the piano !!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOT'S MORE TO GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💘💘💘💘💘💘
As an American, I have to agree with Tarja: commercialized (usually over-produced) "Christmas music" is abysmal.
Wonderful interview, thanks!
I have seen a video where she sings Houston in 1994 ....before studies.
