My thoughts and prayers are with those mourning the deceased, the injured and their loved ones, friends, and relatives. As sad and tragic as this is, I must say Ms. Vicki Soto is a heroine for protecting her students, making the ultimate sacrifice. Ms. Soto's efforts are right up there with the late Dr. Liviu Librescu, a Holocaust survivor and professor at Virginia Tech, who sacrificed his life to protect his students from the gunman during the April 16, 2007 mass shootings.
He did show mercy to her. He allowed her act of bravery to save those children. He allowed her to be the right person at the right place at the right time. He allowed her last act on this earth to be one that many people will never forget. He allowed her death to have meaning, he allowed her avoid being in a coma for years needing constant care. He allowed her to go to heaven. In the Bible, John 15:13, Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this: That he lay down his life for his friends."

But honestly, I would rather allow a policeman into my house to search for a day than have something like this happen ever again, which ruins so many people's lives.
