    My roll axis does not move as smoothly as shown in the video.. I have to pull it with quite some force. Is anyone else getting this issue? Do I just loosen the screw on the lever

    • @dystopian.mp4
      @dystopian.mp4 2 года назад +2

      You have to pull the roll axis backwards tilting towards you up slightly, to move it left and right smoothly, due to the weight of your camera. If this is what you meant, I just figured it out.

    Can’t get this calibrated. Does the DJI needs to be turned off while calibrating? That isn’t explained well. Got a pretty heavy lens (14/35 widelens) and the camera doesn’t stay put in all angles.

      what they don' tell is to lock all the locks and levers before you start. That will at least put the gimbal in a stable position temporarily until you fine tune it. Instrustions could be much better.

    Not a hope of me getting this thing balanced! Bloody heck, I'm trying to follow these instructions with a Sony ZVE10 with the kit lens on it, It feels like the camera is too light and there is not enough adjustments to get it balanced. Watching this video over and over and feeling stupid that I'm missing something.

      @@ol1175 I think I'm all good now! Instructions were a little unclear when learning how to balance. I was under the impression when rocking/moving each axis it needed to return to the exact same position when you let go of the camera and it would settle on the same spot, rather than balancing things so you can freely move without it moving by itself or putting strain on the motors to keep it in position when motors are on. (I'm clueless about video since Im only a stills photographer)

    All the in-app tutorial videos are in Chinese, even though the app is in English. This gimbal is also too small for R5 w/RF24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM lens, even though it's listed as supported. When balanced it won't be able to rotate fully, w/camera hitting the gimbal. Even though weight wise it's fine, geometry wise it's not.

    Can you take out completely the part of the axis motor where it joints to the handgrip? ie separate the handgrip from the top part to make it more portable. I’m pretty sure there must be a way to take those out of the rail somehow, idk if it’s easy though. Thank you!

    Whyyyy there is no vertical mode like this in a dji rs3 ?

    • @DJISupportGlobal
      @DJISupportGlobal 2 года назад +1

      Hello, there. Thanks for your inquiry. Because DJI RS3 Mini supports vertical shooting mechanically so we substitute vertical mode with vertical shooting. DJI RS 3 Mini can switch to vertical shooting without additional accessories such as the vertical camera mount. You only need to attach the standard quick-release plate to the vertical arm. The steps are as follows.
      1. Loosen the red lever on the lower quick-release plate, and then move the lower quick-release plate while pressing the safety lock beside the lever.
      2. Loosen the lever on the horizontal arm, slide the horizontal arm down and unlock the safety lock on the bottom of the vertical arm to separate the horizontal arm from the vertical arm.
      3. Make sure that the red lever of the lower quick-release plate is unlocked and points upward when mounting. Make sure that the red arrows on the side of the lower quick-release plate and the vertical arm are in the same direction. Align the lower quick-release plate with the groove of the vertical arm, install the lower quick-release plate, and then tighten the red lever.
      Note: DO NOT install the lower quick-release plate in the wrong direction. Otherwise, the camera will not be properly secured to the vertical arm.
      4. Make sure the lever on the lower quick-release plate is the unlocked position. Insert the camera and upper quick-release plate into the lower quick-release plate.

    Do you realize that some of your instructions contradict themselves? The segment that starts at 5:00 is the most confusing part of the whole video. You start filming it from overhead, then you change filming positions to opposite the camera. If this isn't confusing enough, at 5:18 you say "if the camera lens rotates to the left, move the camera to the right." Yet an arrow on the screen points very clearly to the left. Then, at 5:28, you say if the camera rotates to the right, move the camera to the left but an arrow that is pointing very clearly to the right. :(
    Whose left and right are you talking about? The left and right of the person sitting behind the camera? The left and right of the person watching this tutorial? It would be so helpful if your directions matched what we are watching on the screen.
    FWIW the overhead angle is not terribly helpful here. It would be more helpful to see this from the side so we can see just how much the gimbal needs to be tilted.

  • @vergo_d

    I shouldn't have to do this everytime I want to shoot a video. The gimbal should be able to remember my weight setting to balance automatically. For example, if my usual setup consists of one camera and one lens I have, I should be able to just load my camera and lens on a specific measuring graduation screwing in or out and it'll be balanced. Maybe this could be done, I'm just a newbie. But doing this everytime I want to shoot a video is scary.
    It should be like
    For my usual set up, I would need 4 stops on X axis, 3 stops on Y axis and 7 stops on the Z axis. If I can remember the numbers 4,3 and 7 for my camera setup, I can balance my camera instantly.
