I can’t begin to describe how good and well explained this was! I really appreciate that you explain the settings and what speed you use for the different shots. This helps a lot to understand better how much practise i need to put it to make smoother footage 🔥 Thank you
This really helps me.. I am a photographer and now learning to use this for videos but I find it hard.. Now that I saw this video tutorial I feel relieve ❤❤❤Alhamdullillah.. Thanks you
Good stuff, Brandon! I noticed you don't use a monitor, at least not in these shots. I would think it's a lot easier to frame the shots with a larger screen (especially while running!) Is it because of the weight, clutter or you just like to keep it simple..?
Monitors take extra time to setup, restrict my movement because of the cables, and tend to loosen/fall as I move around. Plus more stuff to carry and more batteries to charge. I’ve been shooting without external monitors for about 10 years and I’m doing alright
Incredible Tutorial as Usual Brandon! Its Amazing you doing a "Ninja Run"!! Most people have a Hard Time just doing a "Ninja Walk" but there you are Ninja Running!!
Thank you SO much for the video! I’ve been into photography for a few years and recently decided on switching it up and doing video. I’m a first time user of gimbals and I know minimal when it comes to videography. You’re explanation and examples are so helpful! Definitely testing some of the shots out.
This tutorial is a pot of gold, man. Just bought this as my very first gimbal, was kinda disappointed with my first shots but I'm sure I'll get better using your tips!
Outstanding review and tutorial! I still have RSC2 and use your previous tutorials to make cinematic shots. Love it! You are truly the best ninja video operator/editor out there!
Hi Brandon thanks for this lesson on how to best use and set up the gimbal, It is even safer if a second person run with you to guide you, this person has a better view of the environment like in the violin scene! You only have to stumble and the costs are enormous! What a beautiful movie, Morocco Arise! I am going to order this gimbal.
wow wow wow, excelente video, estoy planeando adquirir el DJI RS 3 para usar con mi Sony A6600 lente 18-105 F4, gracias por compartir tus conocimientos, saludos
Can be great when the situation allows. I don’t usually use onewheels etc because they’re not allowed in many places, can’t handle stairs or uneven surfaces, and I can’t travel with them.
monumentally useful. Cant wait for 2. I just bought mine 2 days ago, and I've shot a music video, learning as I went, (carefully, with a few risks too) doing a shoot THEN watching this, made everything make sense. And everything click for how to work better next time. LOVE LOVE LOVE. thank you!
Super tutorial!! Just bought a RS 3 Mini recently and your techniques are so useful for me as a beginner to start with. Looking forward to Lesson 2! Appreciated!!
been using a ronin sc for around 2 years and am looking to upgrade. came here to learn about the gimbal but learnt some really good tips that i've had trouble figuring out on my own. great explanations and examples!
At 3:40, do you mean flashlight mode on the gimbal in general stressed out the motors, or is the act of flashlight mode and running down the street what causes extra stress on the motors? Excellent work as always! Thank you for the great videos!
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Thank you! I will try to avoid using that mode when possible. In other words, the advertised briefcase mode for many gimbals brands means that prolonged use is bad for its motors, right?
You came in handy! I was just thinking that I was going to look for a tutorial on how to use a gimbal and I just opened RUclips and Voila! There you appeared as the frist reccomendation, I was so thrilled but also scared, how could youtube knew what I needed just in that moment?! Do they spy our brains?! Well, you've gotten a new subscriber, waiting for new videos. I really enjoyed the video, it's very useful in the way you explain and show the behind the camera how you did the video but also which equipment did you use and why you chose it. Nice tutorial, thanks!👌🏽👌🏽
Thanks, this is a super helpful BTS. I’m going to offer what I think is the solution for the rear-facing bike tracking shot though: a cargo bike. Dedicated rider and you sit and face backwards. Seems like the smoothest option of all, albeit requiring an assistant.
Seems like a good idea until someone has to go find the cargo bike, rent it, and bring it to location. Rather than just running and getting the shot done.
Unscripted Studio students: there’s a new RS 3 lesson in “Gimbal Masterclass- Advanced Lessons - DJI RS 2 & RS 3”. Check it out!
I learned a lot from watching your video
That's nice Brandon! We made a course about camera cars, it's a cool extension.

What really impresses me is that you wear leather shoes or boots. Don’t your feet hurt?
This was incredible thank you so much. I really thoroughly enjoyed the video. We can’t wait to watch more!
Who needs the gym when you’re filming videos like these with a gimbal lol?! Awesome video! I learned way more than I thought I would. Ty!
Petitioning to call this style "going to the gymbal"
Literally my same thoughts. I was like man I’m gonna get in shape just by shooting videos. He’s running and doing core work lol
Funny I was just working out watching this. I never work out but ever since I got the gimbal I'm like I probably should start doing a little bit...
@@liyonsmith8284hahahaah gymbal😂😂
Gimbal 360 roll switches to Brandon Li mode … rumour has it. Always look foward to your tutorials …. You are the Gimbal G.O.A.T
Just thought I'd drop down into the comment section after a few minutes in and tell you how great this video is.
Most important tip.... always be aware about the environment...😊

This tutorial is a pot of gold, man. Just bought this as my very first gimbal, was kinda disappointed with my first shots but I'm sure I'll get better using your tips!
Yea just keep practicing! With gimbals the user matters as much as the gear.

I just bought mine and waiting to pick it up on Friday from Best Buy 👌🏻Can’t wait to try it out
The best gimbal tutorial I've found so far. The BTS is the GOAT! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks
Love a tutorial where the footage is actually good
Great point about situational awareness. It's easy to become too hyperfocused while moving and shooting

Wow! Brandon is the king of gimbal moves! Cheers from IRELAND 🇮🇪
Awesome stuff Brandon, who cares about it being sponsored when it is such well done explanations and super useful, but appreciate the transparency.
iam stoked about this modern camera/lens auto focus in video mode.
Thank you so much and best regards from Germany!
Great tut. In the WTC you still have your backpack on. Were you wearing it for counterbalance, or you just didn't want t take it off?
Thanks, I was just wearing it so it wouldn’t get stolen
WatcNice tutorialng tNice tutorials video is literally my 1st step to my 22 goal.

Very well presented, and I know it took a lot of effort.
Excellent. I’m definitely going to pick up this gimbal
Great video. Very informative. I just got my RS3 Pro combo for my Panasonic S1H.
Gimbals on bikes or hoverboards/onewheels are super easy and super smooth.

I still working with my Ronin-S but i really enjoy these master class with the R3. Thx for the tips

At 3:40, do you mean flashlight mode on the gimbal in general stressed out the motors, or is the act of flashlight mode and running down the street what causes extra stress on the motors?
Excellent work as always! Thank you for the great videos!
Flashlight mode isn’t an optimal position for the motors. So in general the stabilization strength is lower in flashlight mode, walking or running
@@BrandonLiUnscripted Thank you! I will try to avoid using that mode when possible. In other words, the advertised briefcase mode for many gimbals brands means that prolonged use is bad for its motors, right?

awesome, simple and easy to learn
