It's not about power, it's about the details(signals) transferred due to having higher torque. Great video. Keep it up.

I’ve had mine for 4 years - and definitely don’t regret it, and the few “cons” he mentioned - well, are true! But they aren’t a big deal at all. While racing, I don’t even notice the fan. The mounting bolts…could be better, but I installed without issue!
Overall, it has been solid and reliable and I’ve put over 2000 hours runtime, with no issue. I’ve had to tweak the settings (but doesn’t) and it works and feels great. I’ve used some friends’ non-DD rigs, and they don’t compare at all. They like my V2 much better also. And I’ve driven some other friends DD rigs. …good comparison, but they spent twice as much - and it isn’t worth twice as much (to me).
Overall, Accuforce V2 Pro is an awesome kit…it will not disappoint!!

Great review, I agree with pretty much everything you said. Have my V2 for a couple of months and I think it's the best piece of kit I've bought in years. Coming from a G29 so not much experience, but I have no regrets. I was cross shopping a simucube pro and the money I've saved has let me buy some Heusinkveld Sprints (which arrived today!) instead of Fanatec V3s. I read so much about the software being complex, but with the pre-made profiles, I was up and running in a couple of hours and have done almost nothing since apart from tweaking the strength. I'm not one to talk something up just because I own it, just ask my buddies who'll tell you how much I whinge about stuff! Agree about the noisy fan - I think they changed the fan size, but it's still noisy. It's now 60x60x25mm, so I picked up a noctua from Amazon and now it's so quiet I keep forgetting to turn off the wheel. It was almost room temperature even with the fan unplugged. No regrets here!

Oh, I disagree about the wheel not making me faster - seems like it's true for most but i've taken huge chunks off almost all my laptimes. I'm a nurburgring addict, and a lotus 49 addict too - I've gone from games being games, where I just have to learn how to play them, to feeling like i'm really driving now - and finding it so much easier not to spin. This is a general comment about DD wheels rather than just the accuforce I guess, but if anyone loves driving games for the sake of driving and is wondering whether to spend the coin - do it, do it, do it!

your review was amazing. More than enough "working knowledge" of this product. For a long time I have wondered where Accuforce fits in the arena of direct drive systems. Now I know and can make a smart choice when its time to go DD which is pretty soon. Thanks again and PLEASE do MORE reviews you are a natural at it. For your next review may I suggest one. I heard Simagicdynamic.com is reaching out to RUclipsrs to review their gear without exclusive restrictions. check it out.

Fantastic video! Very informative, I appreciate you reviewing some basic info about DD hardware in general as well as the software, etc. There’s a clarity of thought and presentation that makes it obvious that you put a lot of effort into it. Super professional and helpful for anyone considering purchasing the product.
I always thought that the Accuforce seemed like an excellent choice, especially considering all that is included for the money. The one big advantage that the Fanatec Podium wheels offer though is console compatibility if you’re into GT Sport or Forza, which could be a deal breaker for some people.
I’d love to get a DD but I’d also need to get a new rig, which would add another $500-$1000 and make it just too costly for me at the present time. Maybe one day...

Great vid, comprehensive assessment of this DD wheel. Thanks. I think we've shared a similar path thru products, I started off, many years ago, with the TM F430 which despite it's limited rotation, was a great introduction to sim racing. It was very well put together and I was happy for many years. Then I moved to the the TX after trying a Fanatec CSL (great pedals) but it didn't feel right to me, the TX felt great like an all round improvement to the F430 (except the pedals) since I'd discovered load cell brakes when trying the CSL, and being impressed I upgraded my T3PA's to a load cell and was again happy for awhile. I think the only problem for me with the TX was a slight loss of fine detail in the FFB when things get hectic, perhaps the time when you need the most information, so again I found myself seeking more. I tried the CSW (my buddy had traded in his CSL) but again it didn't feel quite right despite impressing with it's superb build quality. I then tried the T500 but it felt a little sluggish compared to the TX and the I discovered the TS-PC Racer. Wow! It felt great, like a beefier, better quality TX, with enough power not to lose finer details in the FFB. Altho' I'm still very much enjoying the TS-PC Racer, I realize that at some point I'm going to want greater fidelity, I'm not too concerned about having loads of torque, tbh there are times when my TS-PC is more than enough, but it's about quality. Your video has been very helpful in helping me to understand the improvements that a direct drive wheelbase can bring and the Accuforce Pro V2 certainly offers an attractive package, without the confusion that some of the competition brings to the table.

I got the V2 Your Way with the quick release on their Black Friday sale a month or so ago. It does have the loud fan but if you wear a headset you never hear it. I had to add an extra set of support bars for my GT Omega rig to make it sturdy enough to support the wheel base. With saving money getting the "your way" package it made it much more affordable to get a custom F1 rim from Speed Max Racing. It is a fantastic setup.

The only concern could be the quick release system. An xero play or an Sim cube upgrade could be useful.
It is also important to notice that this DD allows to plug a wheel without any Hub. It is just perfect to simulate vintage car! A lot of competitors force to plug a hub to start

But since it's a hi-end piece of equipment I'm planning to use often and for a looong time, that amount of money was not a deal breaker: performance and quality over price, any time.

@@Leynad778 now you're exaggerating... the proof is in the numbers. Better electronics and motors, quicker response times, stronger motors, upgraded filters... you name it.
You can say AF is a better deal and that SC2/DD2 double price tag is way too much money.
You can't say FFB is better. Many well versed testers said and wrote GD's SC2 was truly the best around. Now that Fanatec added some filters in their new software they seem to be on par too...

11:35 the differences between the stepper and servo motor only matters for industrial purposes like operating a conveyer belt or escalator. For simracing purposes, maybe there's a slight difference, but I don't think it matters at all.
To summarise it, stepper motor is used for low speed applications. For servo motors, it's suitable for high speed uses.

Great review but one quick note. The cables provided by SimXperience have 6 wires in them and therefore use RJ12 connectors. RJ11 can only accept 4 wires although they are the same size. I’m not sure if all 6 wires are used by I had my cable rip out of the connector twice and was able to repair them using RJ12 connectors and a crimp tool.
Another note: make sure to never set the wheel rotation to 1080 degrees by accident or the cable can fairly easily rip out of the connector if you crash hard.

I love my Accuforce, one thing I would change is the start up behavior. It's far to violent and will whip wheel cables around, potentially ripping them from USB ports or scratching monitors. As a result I only power my base on with the wheel detached. Fanatec has a nice and slow startup and wish Simxperience would model that. Mine also has a fair amount of coil whine, so its far from quiet. I also have the insanely loud controller box fan. Overall I love my V2, but I do feel like I want more, and will be grabbing a SC2 in the future.

I've only had my Accuforce Pro v2 for a couple of weeks, and so far, I love it to bits, but I note you said that you have to run your game from Sim Commander, but you do not. You can set Sim Commander to "listen" for the start of your game's executable file, so as long as Sim Commander is running, it will detect the start of your game whether from Steam or not. Having said that, Sim Commander has predefined, modifiable "plugins" for every conceivable racing / driving game, so there is no need to do it this way, unless you want to run with the simple, device settings, and not run Sim Commander at all. I find that if I do not run Sim Commander, I have audio problems that seem to be related to Sim Vibe which I am not using. Still trying to get the bottom of that.
2 annoyances with the hardware though:
    1. That RJ12 cable is annoying af, all the time. I am going to try routing it around the back of my motor like you have - thanks for that!
    2. Some of the buttons on my button box are stubborn with some sims

I had a fanatec csw v2 and went to an accuforce v1 when it was $1700. I felt the huge jump in quality when I did. Curious as I am, I ordered an osw wheel from sim racing bay and for me the jump in quality was the same as from csw to accuforce. As for simucube 2 which I currently own, there is a difference but not as big as the other jumps. I don’t have any personal experience with either of the two products, the accuforce or your cockpit, but from what I’ve read I’m gonna have to say mounting the accuforce to your cockpit is gonna give you diminishing returns. I say this because the weight of the wheel itself is gonna probably cause some strain/flex, so it will likely limit the detail and strength of force feedback. Again I don’t have personal experience with the topic, but personally I wouldn’t invest in a direct drive before upgrading the cockpit. 'Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX, Premium Quiet Fan, 3-Pin (60mm, Brown)'
Fits perfectly and is inaudible. About 15mins to fit. I have seen recommendations for slimmer fans (10mm thick) on forums around the web, but this is the same size as the original fan in the V2 wheel I bought new about 5 months ago and slotted straight in. It has 3 speed settings but I can't detect any heat in the PSU with it on the slowest setting. 5 months in and I love this wheel.

Erik Renner not to mention saying something is unnecessary is very subjective. Someone uninformed about pc gaming would say a 144hz monitor is unnecessary if it’s the same size, yet I can’t stand using anything below it and wouldn’t go back if you paid me to. Same with this, someone not really into it who hasn’t tried it wouldn’t see the value in the equipment and assume it’s unnecessary, yet someone who has it likely would say otherwise.
