The DBX-119 is an external dynamic range "Expander". It was primarily used to extend the dynamic range of cassette tapes. It was NOT a pre-processor (like Dolby). I knew someone in college who had one and played all his cassettes through it. It DOES improve the sound of dolby (and non-dolby) cassettes and restores most of the dynamic range that is lost when use you record at low tape speeds. It would be a great compliment to ANY high-end SONY or Nakamichi deck.
I had one of the DBX units. I used it to compress the dynamic range of recordings to tape, lifting the recording above the tape hiss. On playback, the dynamic range was expanded, pushing the tape hiss down.
the ford escort car market has gone crazy over the last few years there is a company in the uk that is now offering brand new mk1 and mk2 escorts for sale but you do need plenty of cash for one . plus there is another youtube channel that promotes sonic tools and is a distributor of the products and is in the USA and is a bit obsessives ! if you know what i mean . got side tracked some nice HFI as well
Where is the tuner you mention at 7:13 ? You really should say the entire model numbers clearly, so RUclips can understand you and show the CC… Of course links would also work :)
We were getting ready to create a listing with all three as a package... Then the MR500 sold just a few days after going live. THEN the matching amp and pre sold today to the same new lucky owner.
Another fun video from Fernando. What a toy shop!! The Sonic tools were gorgeous too
Thank you for watching and writing in Dion! Helps keep us motivated. Glad you enjoyed.
What an impressive shop and collection. Over the years I've found a few nice amps and receivers but this is over the top.

@@SkyFiAudio Haha...yes Neo.
One or the best in the business they are 💯
Killer audio!
3:22 ... Looks like the LT-12 Electrovoice raw speaker from the late 1960s. I really like this speaker.
Hello, great staff in your store. I would really appreciate if you could give as your take on the B&W 800 vs the JBL 4345. Thank you very much!
Polar opposites. The Bowers will knock you over with detail and hyper realism. The JBL will win you over with musicality and smoothness.
@@SkyFiAudio Thanks a lot for taking the time and answering. Makes perfect sense.

Nice place. Did you happen to see the cosworth they did on Wheeler Dealers with third wing? If not check it out.
Sure did. Watch just about every Cossie video. The 3rd wing is super cool indeed.
Dam! Now that I finally found the tuner, MR500, it’s sold… I was going to buy the stack of 3…
