Watching is like taking a trip down memory lane,Me and some Friends of mine were lucky enough to befriend a guy that owned Superior Sound here in Syracuse NY in the early to mid seventies and we used go there on Saturday nights to check out all the newest stereos that just came out,Some only one piece.I recall this one turntable that was completely made out of glass,However I am unable to remember who made it,I love watching your channel!
~~ I'm also from CNY and I forgot about Superior Sound, bought my Klisch Heresy and my 10'' reel to reel and still have them plus more. It's a nice set up I have with extra additions
@@ct9737 ~~ Hmmm ? I answered this from the drop-down menu / bell on the right hand side I don't remember being there but probably did go in at some time. Are you still in the Syracuse area ?? Do you have good set up ? If you checked on my sailor logo, I also have another hobby. Sailing & ice sailing !
Love my heresy 4s, sounded dead when I got them, 1 year later they came alive. Like a cloth lifted up from them. Open, detailed, deep punchy bass. They definitely need a break in period
So sad that Jim Thiel died. They were a great company. I had a pair of their early speakers, and after about 12 years the cones degraded, and they sent me new drivers for free. They cared so much about their product. When an American manufacturer really cares, and does the best job they can, it is wonderful stuff.
I want to take a vacation just to visit, and a rehab of my marantz 2270. Hey, have you ever run into Sony's obscure L cassette tape machine. I recall right before CDs, Sony came out with a new format running at 3 and three quarters ips.
The OCD in me kicked in when I saw some of those LP's in the beginning of the video stacked horizontally. Hopefully they were moved to a vertical position soon after. Otherwise it was a great video, I was drooling throughout. Nobody ever tried to bust through that glass door?
Hi I have a NAGRA E which is a full track 1/4” mono Do you guys have or can you make cables that can take the audio out of it to two RCA connectors to connect to a receiver to listen on my stereo system and another cable that has two RCA to take the signal from the receiver and record on the NAGRA? Thank you
Jedma. We used to make our own nagra cables but we found a guy on eBay that does a great job. Drop me an email from our website and Ill send you the info.
That Mac gear is gorgeous...especially the Technics with that McIntosh look. Does that particular Technics RtoR model have Auto Reverse?. We had the same thing done with an Akai GX266D model. What's your opinion on glass heads Fernando? We do enjoy the Akai. Great to see a Bob Carver piece (Sunfre) in you midst. Hope to see more of his stuff come through. Happy New Year my friend.
I dont, I thought I had sorted the table out by reworking the conveyor belt but I noticed the other day its still sticking in one spot as it tracks. Took it off the market till we sorted it out.
@@SkyFiAudio Did this table ever get fixed? I'm just wondering because I've never seen a Yamaha tangential tracker before so I'd love to see a video that talks about it.
I’ve restored many sets of DQ 10’s which with two Dq1’s and lp1 active sub xo compare favorably with my B&w 802d3 with 850 sub but for under 1k. Great with 300woc mcIntosh amps and pre. Great way to sell two Mac amps and pre. 2205 or bigger
@@SkyFiAudio the yellow cabs you can pretty much leave them alone if they don’t to think about recapping the crossover with clarity blue caps with the exception of the piece of electric because they have film cabs and don’t go bad. Without the subwoofers, they have a little base below 50 Hz even if you’re pumping 300 W into them they really need the subwoofers.
Those are cherry which can vary slightly in hue depending on the tree they were sourced from. Ours are a bit lighter than usual. They also change color if they are exposed to sunlight.
@@SkyFiAudio Thanks, looked like Birch or a blonde veneer on the video, I just got them in black (matches my equipment stand) and really glad I went with the Heresy's.

just some great pieces from a few years ago. Never get tired of seeing the MAC tube gear.
Love all the audio equipment, thanks for showing us... Regards Antony..
Warrington England..
Cool, thanks for watching Antony.
Great to hear you had a great month👍😄
Always look forward to these videos.
As someone who owns a full DCS stack, you should definitely get an Upsampler if your going for the Scarletti set up shown in the video.
Just awesome stuff you got there. Thanks for a great video :)
Very cool inventory it looks more like a museum organized beautiful.

Indeed. I have a pair of Thiel CS5 that are absolutely works of art. Visually imposing but stunning, and acoustically sublime.
Use to work for Mark Levinson when they were in Hamden CT late 70s . Good stuff .
ah, the golden era. Must have been fun to work there.
Beautiful vintage hi-fi shop .👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you. We put a lot of effort into making it a cool place to work and Im glad it shows. Do visit some day.

Wow... those Thiels.
TY for the video!
You bet!
I have the corwall IV. They're pretty nice. Definitely a unique sound
Very nice! What are you powering them with?
Great speakers! Very beautiful room!
Thank you!
If you saw a car lift with a restoration in progress in the middle of the store in the 70s you knew it was great stereo store.
Hermoso tour de equipos HIFI...! Gracias y aspiro un día comprar. Que sea pronto..verdad.! Gracias!
Es un placer Miguel. Visitamos algún dia.

That one is based on the RS1520 which does not have auto reverse, however we can build one based on the RS1700 which does. cheers.
Klipsch heritage can be ordered in a wide variety of wood veneers, not just oak/walnut/cherry.
Right Scott. We can custom order many finishes.
Do you sell them

When we are done with this one you can trade yours in.
10:30 I see a Rohde and Schwartz UPL audio analyzer.
It's funny what folks spot on the videos. Yes got the Rohde a few months ago. Super cool tool. Funny that it has a floppy disc drive on it.

well named skifi as there prices are skyHi, way expensive and can buy much cheaper elsewhere
