SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

As I’m a old man now, I’ll give you Great advice, if it is not broken do not fix it ! You can count on that tip ! It works for everything in your Life . Love your shop. I’ve been running a Marantz 2325 and a Pair of Klipsch k-horns up front with a powered M&K sub, in back I have a pair of Klipsch Belle speakers. I really want to have my Marantz updated. I have always taken it apart and blow it out with a air compressor every few years. It’s all original and I am sure it needs updating, but it’s not broken but in it’s case it could Ben preventive maintenance. I’m scared to ship it. I’m very Happy with it all, as I have it in a double instillated room 24x26 so it breathe very well. At around quarter volume it’s live entertainment. There is always room for improvement with music. Thanks

Super cool piece the Z7000. Never had one in the shop but I bet its a complicated restoration with all those features. Good luck and do send a pic when you get it sorted.

    Hi
I've been watching your channel for quite some time now. Thought it's about time I subscribed.
I've been into audio since 1972.
My first decent system was a Harmon Kardon Citation amp with epi 400 speakers. Loved that system.
Moved up to Crown DC 300A/IC150 with ESS AMT 3's. Great for 70's prog rock. I had a party one night and I guess I was playing Pink Floyd's Time a bit too loud. The cop said I woke up the whole town! He said if he had to come back he was taking me AND my stereo to jail!
Fifty years later I still own those speakers!
I love seeing vintage equipment. It
reminds me of a wonderful time in my life.
    Keep up the good work!

Hi Fernando, great video, I can see you're really passionate about McIntosh gear, BUT I'd have loved to hear your take on the ARC SP11 which did not get a mention this time as you went straight past it. Keep up the good work. Cheers from 🇦🇺

I don't know why, but when men see other men that have made an occupation out of something they genuinely love doing, it puts a smile on our face. ABOUT THE GRILLS.......I love the look of bare speakers. They're so formidable. They're so beautiful. They're so manly. BUT, I also enjoy the protection that comes with the grills, especially when I have friends and their kids over. MY QUESTION TO YOU IS.......do they make a material in witch "you" can use the original speaker's grill frames, but replace the fabric with something that allows one to clearly see the drivers behind it, but at least offers a bit of resistance to a curious toddler's pointer finger?

    • @SkyFiAudio
      @SkyFiAudio  2 года назад

The grills are made of a sheet of foam so you cant really improve them. They would have to come off completely and replaced. I like the look without the grills too but folks always ask for them if I remove them.

@@SkyFiAudio ah, makes sense. I have wondered watching your videos about the braces you wear, nerve injury ? And I imagine by the high standards you and the others at SkyFi have, you would be reluctant to sub the grill repair work out to some other place.
You could offer them without grill restoration, I for instance, don’t generally keep the grills on and so if I were interested in them it wouldn’t be an issue.

in the Netherlands where I live, the vinyl hype is already over. A record player is cool but vinyl sucks. after playing 3 times you're back with taps and splashes.
