  • Paganini's favorite medals: Paganini won many awards during his lifetime. These two medals (previously housed in the Parma, Italy museum) were his favorites. As beautiful as ever: Courtesy of The Romantic School of Music.

    You just made my week. This is my absolute favorite channel.
    There is some amazing information in this video. I'm gonna try that cabinet scraper technique on a rifle stock I am trying to refinish.

    I really enjoy your videos Kevin! Please keep posting them. I wish I could build violins with you! You are such a special gift to the world. You have given so many angelic voices to so many silent, doomed trees! A wonderful symphonic forest of voices will sing to you for eternity! You have set them free!!!

    Awesome video! Could you do more tutorials/how to videos on the violin? Maybe share some of your favorite techniques. I know there are tons of vibrato how to videos, but I think if you made one it could help even more! You were born to share your gifted knowledge!

    Sir I have an question Do you think music school is necessary to become musician,If so what schools do you suggest.
    Thanks :)

    • @Violamanben
      @Violamanben 7 лет назад

      Severus Snape Short answer: No. But if you want to be a classical musician, almost always yes. At the very least, you need a very competent private teacher. It all depends on your goals.

      Thanks,For your answer Do you have any good music school suggestions?

    • @Violamanben
      @Violamanben 7 лет назад

      Severus Snape It's no problem. It depends on your instrument, your budget, what you want to achieve with music, and how serious you are. I have no idea what your age is, and I don't know how long you have been playing. Assuming we're talking about conservatories, there are only about 10-15 in the country that are really worth going to. The others will give you a degree that's basically worthless.

    Do you know if I could possibly purchase a replica of Paganini's medals anywhere?

    • @kevinleeluthier
      @kevinleeluthier  5 лет назад +1

      I don't know of any modern reproductions of any of Paganini's medals (every time there has been a listing for a copy of his medals on the internet, it was a scam, so be careful). There were bronze replicas of this medal struck in 1831 and one comes on the market every year or two. But even though they were struck as replicas, they start in the hundreds and go up to $2500.00.
      As mentioned in the video, Paganini also made a few hundred one-sided silver copies of this medal and put them on his ceiling, but I have never been able to find any of them still in existence.
      Sorry I can't be more help.
