I absolutely love these flash cards! Long before I had even picked up a violin, I had gone through all of these flashcards. Thank you so much for this!
Kevin, you are so very generous - Thank You!!
As a professional string player I absolutely love these videos! Fantastic! Thank you
Really apreciate the work effort going into making these videos and flashcards. Hope your spine gets better soon sir. Take care, and many thanks for the help you give me in learning the violin. Looking forward for the next lesson!
So am I...
Scripting out videos seems to be my life right now, until I can carve and play again. Thank you so much for your comment!
These are great - thank you for going to the trouble of making them and making them available! I'm off to learn the notes!
That's exactly what every violin teacher loves to hear! Thank you for your comment!
Thanks :) My 7 yr old really needed this.
You’re a master of teaching my brother. One thanks yew so much 💖☮️🙏🎶
Merry Christmas Kevin . Glad to see you on the mend .
Merry Christmas!
You always make feel alot younger than I am. I bring your vids up when I need a. Your not to old boost!
Seeing you in the head brace breaks my heart. I am guessing you are a master violinist and mot being able to play must be terrible.
Thanks for your help and vids.
And this last year, I crushed the bones in my right hand/wrist, yet "never give up, and never give in!" I ready to go again!
@@kevinleeluthierthank you so much for a response. I feel privlaged
I need that message right now. Thank you.
Do you know any great violin makers in the Pittsburgh area that might want a new violin maker?
These videos are invaluable, I'm going to master these cards in 2 weeks, damn it!
Go for it! and don't give up. It really does just "start to happen" all at once, and then you love it.
Inspiring! Thanks to all here, these cards will unlock so many people’s magic of musical understanding, something I must now learn
I love this comment every time I see it come up!
Interesting presentation. It is proven that you can use flash cards or some similar blind recall technique to learn lots of things. Foreign language vocabulary, organic chemistry, .... It just takes some mental energy that a lot of people do not want to expend.
Legend. Thank you for this.
This is so great!!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this.
I needed this.
That's exactly how I felt when I first saw them! :)
Get Well, and Merry Christmas... Love your videos..
Very detailed explanation
Thank you Kevin. Hope you’re doing well. Merry Christmas!
I'm doing well, and even though I still have 6 more weeks in my neck brace, the Christmas season looks good so far! Merry Christmas and Thanks!
Invaluable instruction! Thank you so much!
This lesson helped me so much. Even more than I mentioned in the video.
@@kevinleeluthier I'll keep my fingers crossed for your speedy and full recovery. You deserve it just for your inspirational video clips.
great help. I will go practice right now.
Fantastic!
Wow! This looks great! 😂
Oddly enough I was just looking into this subject since I read horribly and play piano and guitar by ear. As I am now embarking on the fine fiddle family I bought some basic violin books and stared at it like a deer in the headlights. Upon searching for the best way to learn to read, flash cards came up as a possibility. But of course nobody explains it like you do. Absolutely perfect timing for this video...and many thanks again for sharing your indelible spirit!
Thank you so much, and don't forget to spend some time with the other flashcards at The Romantic School of Music. They are all FREE and they don't have any adds or "junk" attached to them. :)
@@kevinleeluthier I did go to the website right after this posting...and yes, there is much more to look at. Should keep me plenty busy through the upcoming Nor'easter in NY/New England.
Would you consider doing the flashcards for viola? I know the basics apply to the viola as well as the violin, so I have learned much from your videos.
I will, since it is on my to-do list, though I can't guarantee when because I'm so far behind in violin making because of my surgery. (I'm sorry) I have quite a few resources for the different instruments here at the school yet I'm still alone for the time being = I think that the Covid pandemic has lasted long enough! :)
Great channel, you got a new subscriber 😁
really fantastic method thank you so much teacher
Thanks for your comment. And tell your friends!
@@kevinleeluthier You are welcome teacher. okay I tell my friends. so paganini plays alessandro rolla's violin concerto when he was 11?
@@AdnanOygen Yes. He site-read the brand new concerto all but perfectly. It's one of the "big events" in Paganini's young life.
@@kevinleeluthier Thanks teacher
Hi sr nice video
Thank you. More to come!
A set of actusl cards would be great. I don't sleep well so the hours of being awake could be put to good use.
I plan on selling physical cards at the RSOM website, but I have to wait until I can justify the cost of printing a few thousand at a time to make them affordable. = hopefully soon.
Things I used to do, I do them no more, and places I used to go, I go there no more. Jesus for you, I rearrange my life.
Hi Kevin is there an actual romantic school of music like a physical place where you can go and get lessons or is it just online. Thanks for everything you've ever done and I wish you great success with your recovery. :)
There have been quite a few "brick and mortar" locations of The Romantic School of Music over the centuries, beginning in 1715: starting in Padua, then Paris, Madrid, Harlem, Manhattan, etc., yet today (2020), as far as I know, the only location directly descended from the original (as it's last "official" student I inherited pretty much everything from all around the world) is now attached to my violin shop, yet and even this location has been temporarily closed to students since the beginning of the pandemic. (One of the students got Covid very early on.) In the past, the school always operated cloaked in secret (which I never really agreed with). It's a "very" long story, yet I do plan on telling it someday. In the meantime, I'm doing the best that I can, online. :)
@@kevinleeluthier wow thank you very much for replying, you made my day! :)
Do you have the cards for viola
Where to buy
These are all free online at The Romantic School of Music .com (They are even better than the original physical cards that get lost or wear out!)
me, first few seconds: every note in less than 2 weeks? thats bullshit.
*sees the cards*
damnit. play thats really clever. i guess this could really work, ill give it a try :)
First respectable comment
I love it. Thanks!
man, you'll still at it after your recent surgery
I'll be doing a few videos before this neck brace come off. Then it's time to really get serious.
Hurts to see your neck like that hope you get better, take care Luthier
