Small Parts Organisers/Boxes Storage Unit

- I've been needing for a long time now to build a cabinet to store alll of my Stanley fatmax organiser boxes in, along with that I need somewhere to keep all my finishing supplies in as well, so combined the 2 and came up with this!
Disclaimer: How I use my tools, equipment and PPE is down to my choice. I use these based on my experience of using and operating these tools. Do not think because I have done something a certain way it is safe for you to do say. Always follow manufactures safety guidelines.

I tend to use a foam roller instead of the normal wall type, which leaves a lot less dimply finnish. That might work for you to, although it looked like you enjoyed the meditative brush strokes... 😁
Hiya matey, I've heard of these magical rollers before, but to be honest I haven't ever looked out for them, I just generally tend to go for the cheapest. But, now you have mentioned it, I'm gonna look them up! Good idea.

Good job James. You got to use up some offcuts and get a storage unit out of it, that can also double up as a smaller outfeed/workbench👍

I use these sorter boxes. You should label them up on the front so you know what’s in them. The best way ive seen to do it is to use iron on edge banding. The stuff you’d use on white chip board, then just write on it what’s in them. (The grey rubber strip on the handle is perfect for the banding to stick to) 👍
That's a great idea with the edge banding. I do plan to label them up now I have them sorted, just need to sort a few out first. I've got a laser engraver, so I want to try engraving some labels for it

I spent a fortune buying woodworking gear ( not a tablesaw yet) as I loved every moment Getting new gear from Amazon was like Xmas daily!
I got Covid in 2021 and strangely in the aftermath, I don’t have any motivation to do anything much, let alone woodworking.

Hi David, how are you doing? There is a whole world of wood working tools out there to invest your money in. So I can sympathize with you about buying lots of equipment! 😀
But I also know exactly what you mean about covid, I got it in march 2022 and since then I've lost my mojo for doing pretty much anything. But to answer your question, I am fine thanks. In 2022 I had a lot of family issues, and times where I had to be there for my family, hence the time away last year. This year, though I just seem to start a project, get half way through and then don't go back to it for a month or so. I started a new project after this video, but I've not got it finished yet. I keep saying I need to get my ass in gear and get back to a routine, hopefully soon. . .

Thanks buddy. The workshop is about half the size of a standard UK garage. The front half has my bikes on it, and the back half I use as a workshop. The mitre saw station does take up some room, but well worth it

Hi buddy, thanks for the comment. As regards the mitre saw station, I filmed the majority of part 2, but then I had to store a lot of stuff in my garage for a while, and I finished it off with the odd bit of time I had, so I never actually filmed all of it. Maybe I can chuck together some sort of ending to it all? 🤔

use a pushstick on the table saw and NEVER reach for the off-cut with the blade still running. Listen to this advice while you still have all 10 fingers please!

Yoy have removed the blade guard, have no Riving knife, stand straight behind the blade waiting for a kickback to hit your torso, use no push stick and reach for off-cuts in close proximity of the blade while its still running. You are violating all safety procedures I can think of in one video. I tried to give you some advice but ok, you do you. I will however report this video considering you are broadcasting this video for others to "learn from".
You also forgot to mention I wasn't wearing a full face shield either! There IS a riving knife fitted if you look, I am also stood to the side, but you fail to take in the camera angle. I don't recall there ever being a minimum size of cut for which you must use a push stick. Oh, and when you first buy the saw, you have to fit the blade cover on first assembly, so as it wasn't fitted in the first place, technically I never actually removed it. Please do what you feel necessary, as I will continue to do regarding using my tools. 👌
@@EspenShampoo25 ahhhh, so now I see your lack of knowledge coming through. When you make that sort of cut with a grooving blade or dado stack, the riving knife would actually lift up the wood as it passes over it, making the cut much more dangerous, as the riving knife would sit higher than the saw blade. Brilliant 👍
