Now I'm tempted to say that "your drills also sound annoying - why don't you do something about it?", and see what he comes up with :D That table saw comical beeping was golden! :D
I cannot thank you enough for including your mistakes. You will positively affect my mood and actions the next time I screw up. Which should be any minute now. Seriously, thank you.
Now that’s a functional design that addresses all those design considerations like: 1) where to put container 2) where to leave container now that you’ve taken out a “section” 3) how to close container now that you’re holding a section (and drill and washers and pencil....) and 4) how to annoy at every opportunity some doofus complaining about noise they are choosing to receive on their very own device rather than reading manual which probably indicates where volume switches are....!!! Ha, wet myself laughing every time!! Seriously good editing and a seriously good mistake that we’ve all sort of made. Thanks very much for all that work and for seriously thinking thru the limitations of working with these great containers...
The only thing I don't like about you vids, are the people that try to tell you what's wrong with them. I love the content, and the humor, and also how you screw up once in a while to make us feel better. I'm sure this is difficult for you to do. I love the little tricks I see and don't feel bad at all about stealing them and making them part of my tool bag. Thank you!
I took your advice and rewound it three times. Frankly, I'm shocked and dismayed that a professional of your caliber would make the same exact mistake three times.
We all make really stupid shop mistakes though not everybody is willing to admit. Glad you shared. Look at it this way way ... the good news you hadn't GLUED and screwed the back on.
I love your sense of humor. I always get a laugh from your videos. I'm glad to see a pro put the drawer slides on backward. Makes feel less like an idiot.
Wow. Great project. Attention to detail is incredible. You make it look so easy. I saw the same "improvement" needed in the Savage video but instead of a tray, I only installed drawers in mine. Your tray solution is way more elegant and useful. There are many of these "Sortimo" videos on YT but your design is the best. Bravo! : )
Absolutely love the Jetson table saw sound. George Jetson wasn't much of a woodworker - her was too concerned to hurt his button pressing finger. Subscribed .
RUclips suggested one of your videos to me today, and I'm about 4 videos in and subscribed. Your channel is a little Jimmy Diresta, a little This Old Tony, and a lot original. I dig it.
LOL the Jetson's cyber drive table saw is genius, This is the best rack i have seen for these sorting bins. BTW at least you didn't glue the back on and find out about the backward slide a day later, after the glue dried.
A very well done and well filmed version of a not-great concept. To even find out if you have the right box requires taking it out, finding a place to put it, or in this case, pulling out the tray, and putting the case down and opening the lid, praying that it never gets knocked over. Then you still need overflow storage for larger quantities of common items. If they were drawers, it would be one step- open drawer, select item.
I label them. That's how I know which one to grab. And drawers aren't really conducive to transporting to different jobs. If this solution doesn't work for you, that doesn't mean it's universally bad. Not everything is designed specifically for you.
@@WesleyTreat Not universally bad, just not optimal, IMO. It would be interesting to see it in use after four years- still happy with the set up? Again- great job on the video.
@@jaywood8296 Yes, thank you, I'm very happy with it. I think what you mean to say is it's not optimal for the way you work. No solution is optimal for everyone, but may be perfect for many others. Thanks! 👍
Wesley this is the best home made sortimo cabinet I've seen on RUclips. It's been on my to do list for a long time but haven't conquered it yet. I've got like 15 of the harbor freight version of the sortimos sitting in my closet looking for a home. Awesome job.
Hands down the most thought-out and versatile implementation of a DIY Sorta Sortimo/Econo Sortimo rack I've seen. Just watched Adam Savage's video, and like many others knew I wanted to try out the organizers for storing small parts. I'm going to start off with only 1 or 2 organizers and see how I like them. If they work well for me and I need to upgrade to a rack, I'll be basing mine off of yours. The ability to mix and match the shallow and deep organizers is great, and the temporary table and drawers for "Type-A Accesories" really take this to the next level for me. Loved the Futurama reference. Keep up the great work!
Have a similar rack, mine is not as tall nor as nice. I installed it on the wall with French cleats, you will be amazed at how much you can get in organizers. Just a small tip when using the label maker to label ( I did mine on the yellow part of the handle), 2000 grit sandpaper and a wipe with isopropyl alcohol will make sure your labels are not "self-removing."
"Marie Kondo of Fasteners"!!!! Your sense of humor is on point! Though I just found your channel, it's definitely in my top three favorites. Content, quality, craftsmanship...you've got it all nailed!
"Meet George Jetson!!" I have to admit drooling over Savage's Sortimo racks I had to face the reality that unlike Adam I am not a millionaire that can just go out and buy whatever strikes my fancy. Besides I already had more that 20 of the Stanley cases stored sufficiently on rolling baker's rack selves that I got from Lowes for around $50 each. I would build a cabinet like yours but most of my work in on location so I don't really need that much convenience in the shop. That said, nice build.
Nicely done. I would add a pair of tongs or tweezers hanging on the side of the cabinet for fishing bits out of those bins quickly. The Jetsons table saw sound edits are hilarious.
Thanks for including the screw up... I do stuff like that all the time... makes me feel better, I'm not the only person who does that....assorted lengths of wiiiire..lol
Love the table saw sound - wish mine had a setting for that! I probably would have just used a multitool or something and cut the slides out - but your way is definitely the more professional approach. Also love the Farnsworth reference!
I absolutely loved the table saw sound. I think the chop saw need a sound. The drill needs a sound too. I subscribed because what you did with the table saw sound really brilliant!
whoaaaaaa.... SO great. I 😍love 😻 the temporary placement tray! Right now I balance my stanley organizers on my knee and then every 4 months one tips over off my knee and I lose my mind. 🤯
haha @7:14 i thought to myself "that was symmetrical until now, i wonder if all the drawer slides are facing the correct way"... love the table saw synth btw
Awesome work! The Jetson's table saw sound was priceless (as well as the Kondo gag). I built something similar (but not nearly as nice) to keep a storage system in my van. Some advice about putting labels on these cases - even using an industrial labeller (with "permanent" UV stable tape) I still found they peeled off over time. This was fixed by overcoating with epoxy - just make sure it's UV stable non-yellowing!
Thanks for sharing. Had some good laughs watching this one. Thanks for sharing your mistake, which, in my case, is often a part of the process. A very useful storage solution that I hope I'll be able to make, when I can afford the bins
I love the space jig and the new table saw sounds! You have such a great sense of humor! You're also killing it with your sub count, what's your secret? Keep up the great work, I really look forward to your videos
The screeching isn't the issue, leveling the volume is. I love the machine noises but not when I have to keep adjusting the volume controls. Keep up the great videos!
A+ for the saw sound. But another idea to hold the parts bids is to find an old rolling bakers rack. They are a lot less work to convert them to a storage system.
I love the new sound of the saw! I felt really bad for you with the drawer slides! I thought I was the only one that can screw up in such an awesome manner! Thanks for yet another awesome video. Now I have to go and find some boxes and make something similar!
Your dedication to piss off that commenter is spectacular. Great video.
It sure makes you miss the real sound of that saw.
Jetsons!
@@hawkie333 Thank You! Jetsons. I was racking my brain trying to remember which show that sound was from. LoL.
Now I'm tempted to say that "your drills also sound annoying - why don't you do something about it?", and see what he comes up with :D That table saw comical beeping was golden! :D
I've never laughed so hard at a table saw before...
Professor Farnsworth would be proud of your wire drawer.
I, however, can just say: "Whoa!"

Dang! I gotta have one of those "Spacely" table saws!!!
I think they sell an upgrade Widget.
I wondered when the Jetsons car sound came into play.

Things guaranteed to make me smile...the first slice of a brisket, my dog, and a new Wesley Treat upload.

ha! classic!
That's consistency.
Ok, now I want cool custom sounds for every tool. Too fun!

Man, the upgraded sound of your saw has me in stitches.

That table saw sounds absolutely riveting!
Just found you video here for first time. Love your sense of humor along with a quality video presentation. Keep up the good work! Thanks for sharing.

I feel ya on the backwards hinges.....been similar places myself a lot.
Man. This guy has it down. Yes, skill in the workshop, but also just the right blend of camera presence, editing and humor. Subbed.

Thumbs up for the OCD wire scrap collection. Glad I’m not the only one.
That thing is beatiful and the temporary board is a great idea

Well built and very well thought out and practical

6:27 i need that gadget in my life. I wish I had it last year. the flex bit extension was much harder to work with. Your videos are very entertaining!
I love the Jetson's saw noise. :)
How have I missed your page for the last many years. Such a great find.
I loved your solution to the saw squeal issue!......lol And the project is great too.
Now that is just the kind of arrangement I need but without the wheels... very nice build mate.
Another great video. I off to the park to complain about the children's laughter.
Nicely done. I would add a pair of tongs or tweezers hanging on the side of the cabinet for fishing bits out of those bins quickly.
The Jetsons table saw sound edits are hilarious.
I have plans to add some accessories. Maybe a tube for rulers, a slot for my binder with notes, and a square of sheet metal for magnetic trays.
Those long clamps are awesome!

Mate that was a joy to behold. Great comedy too.
I think new table saw sound effect is superb.
I giggled every freaking time you powered up that table saw.
Oh, and that middle slide out shelf is nothing short of genius.

Just love this mans sense of humour, liked and subscribed......... Ray H ( From England U.K.)
Awesome build. Love the jetson flying car sound for the saw. Bravo.
I love the drawer/tray for opening the cases on. I’m going to have to add that to my new rack I’m building shortly.
Slick design! One of these days I'll move all my assorted stuff out of plastic bins and old coffee cans which in itself was a move forward.
One helluva good job!, you mastered it!.
Best table saw sound EVER!!!
Awesome design! I will build this once I finish my wood working shop!
Love the new sound of your saw!
The new saw sound is great - pondering the drill and other Jetson sounds you could come up with - LOL
The video quality of this channel is incredible, one of the up and coming RUclips greats, see you at 1 million ;)
I'm with Marcel, please rethink your other tools! Sweet!
PLEASE FROM NOW ON JETSON SOUNDTRACK EVERYTHING!!! Tablesaw noises, drilling noises, putting in screws, EVERYTHING!!!!
