Ex cabinet installer here. Put your screws in the end tang hole @ 3:03. Those tangs are meant to be used as a width adjustment. If the drawer binds you can put a shim behind the glide and still have everything flush. Great looking project!
Top-notch! from what i understand this is not only a good storage method. If you do work elsewhere you can still take the cases with you without taking the whole drawer system.
That's true Ron! I wanted to store the cases, open them right there without the need to take them out to a horizontal surface AND still can take transport them elsewhere. Thanks for your early stop!
I have never bothered to read the comments below the videos in English, partly out of laziness, partly because I am primarily interested in the video. In this case I discovered that people are the same in all countries, there are those who complain and "rosica" ( in Italian ), and there are those who praise a good project shared with the community. I like being part of the second group more and more. Congratulations Cristiana.
Here's a extra tip for you, on the base end of each size of drill bit, spray paint a different color. So 5mm White, 6 mm Black, 7mm Red, 8mm Orange, etc. That way you can easily look at the base of each drill bit and see quickly if any are out of place. Since the base of the drill bit generally does not contact anything while in use, the paint should last a long time. Makes it very easy to sort and replace drill bits after use also.
I genuinely mean this, you are one of my favorite people on YT. You rock! My daughter loves your videos and your accent. You are one of the only woodworkers that she actually likes to watch with me.
nice one. cnc tip for the drill pockets. using ie. a 6mm a flat mill, mill the pockets down to 3mm off the bottom surface. then mill an inner pocket, 3mm offset from the original pocket sides. that will leave a step that you can quickly shape to round with a second pass with the ball mill. benefits? much quicker mill time and clean bottom. if you like the wavy bottom, you can alternatively mill up to the 3mm bottom offset with large step size, and then down to bottom with smaller step to have a finer wavy finish, but with reduced milling times.
I know nothing about woodworking but there is something so satisfying watching you make precise cuts and assemble these pieces fitting neatly together, and the drawers at the end sliding effortlessly... love your no-frill, elegant and functional designs, and your attention to detail
Make a snare drum with a valchromat!!! By stave method building. U can build the outside with all black, and the inside with a rainbow!! With a transparent drumheads will be awesome!!
Great job. Very useful project. The India Ink finish is awesome. I think if you alter the drawer front so the box handle folds flat, the lid angle problem would be solved.
Having the drawers go all the way out so you’re able to get the content it’s something I’d love to have with mine. Awesome project, my favorite kind. 😍
I normally don't comment. I wanted to let you know that you are amazing carpenter and you have mad skills. Your attention to detail is what I really liked about this video. Thank you so very much for making this video. I hope to get to one like it. That is after the new 22x26 living room addition, kitchen completely gutted, both bathrooms remodeled, and our main bedroom. You have earned my subscription.
I am buying my first home closing is soon and I will be having to do a lot of repairs and you have been an inspiration that I will be able to do much of it myself
Only thing can think of is maybe someedges on the top to put bigger stuff on that cannot fall off. And maybe some tough handles on the side to grab to more easily move it ? But this is an awesome looking rack for sure !
For the handles, you could notch the slot below them where they lay flat, the corners still hold the cases and the handles should lay flat or lift flat as well. Really like the fitted slots!!!
This is why I enjoy your videos. You try to make things look good. Most of my family are carpenters of some sort and while they do excellent work when on the job; Their at home projects can look quite lazily put together.
Christiana, This cabinet is an inspiration! I am currently building my 4’x8’ CNC and I am in the dream stage of projects. Have been thinking about furniture for the fabric arts. Think build opens up more of my brain.
I've always been put off making the simple case storage units everyone seems to build with angle aluminium as they seem to be lacking something. After watching your video I know what it is now - having actual drawers for the case to rest on and pull out so the the lids open up! Nice design. I'm not a fan of having tall cabinets in my shop as they get in the way of bench space, but whatever works for you. Cheers for the inspiration. BTW Instead of writing on the fronts of the drawers which may not come off again, if you glue some metal on you can get magnetic tape to write on. Or cut some whiteboard and glue that on there. Easy to clean off if you ever decide to reorganise.
WOW! One of my favorite build videos. The attention to detail and craftsmanship blows me away. You have set the bar pretty high and something for me to reach for! OUTSTANDING!!
You are the best, Cristina! Beautiful work, functional designs. Such an inventive mind, wow! I have the greatest regard for you. Greetings from California!
This is a really lovely piece of furniture. For something that's essentially functional you created a stylish, beautifully designed and constructed item. Your work is always that bit extra special and inspiring. Thank you.
This is the beat solution I’ve seen to these containers. Makes it easy to access and they look good too. I would just need labels on each drawer front.
I know this video is 4 yrs old, I just had to tell you what a Beautiful job on a nice parts drawer you built, i really love your work and your channel, i wish you good health and happiness ❤
In the US you can get similar storage boxes from Harbor Freight for pretty inexpensively and build a similar cabinet. Really nice. I would be temped to recess the handles to prevent bumping into them but a great build.
Very nice quality work, especially given that so much of your material was scrap odds & ends. Also, while I've seen numerous DIY videos on woodworking when a CNC was used, yours is the first one that motivates me to look into that area for my own projects. Thanks for the introduction.
Very creative design and great execution. Thank you for sharing. I have a similar problem to solve for in my small workshop and your video gives me many useful ideas how to do it. Love the integration of traditional woodworking tools with CNC and 3D printing for this project. One of my favorites you've done.
Just perfect. I loved that no space was wasted, I don't like it when you put a double cover on the front, and I hate when they make the drawers short and leave space behind the cabinet, it makes me waste usable space. but in this case everything took advantage I love it

Speaking of your merch..... Last December I bought one of your bandanas for myself. I thought it was beautiful and it allowed me to help support your work. In March COVID hit the U.S. I didn't have a mask, but I had a bandana! It's been very useful over the past few weeks.
Having troubles with the same parts boxes, what is always needed is always on the bottom. Now what you built was a wonderful fix. Think I may try something like this right after the holidays. Big thanks for this and your plans. Helpful video.
My shop projects generally consist of 2x4s with screws thrown at them from a distance...the attention to detail is incredible. Superb craftswomanship well done!
Some people say that the drawer doesn't work because once you put something in it, you forget it's there. But for me they are glorious. Good job Cristiana!
Get a thick metal plate and add it to the bottom of the back side, this will help prevent it from tipping over forwards when u have multiple drawers open.
What a real nice idea !! I was painly remembered my storage catastrophe. As i am not that firm into woodworking yet, this project could be a little overgunned by now, but i am willing to try. Highly respected!!!
Really satisfying project ! I'm not into the carpentry thing, but i make some art and i like so much when my storage is serving me ! Nice, pratical, ultra custom with your kind of work and use. Like it ! It may be a "little" project, but what a time saved !
Wow those boxes are expensive. I need to do this for the ones I have but I don't yet have a CNC machine to do the drill bit trays which are an awesome idea. I think I'll make those a bit smaller so there are two drawers side by side at the top and then I can sort them into different drawers for masonry, metal, and wood bits.
As usual ur videos r full of inspiration for my never ending remodel! Im currently in process of designing my new space storage/ work space. I don't have room to work on anything to large like full sheets so I'm making everything modular
when creativity, willpower and feminine touch are put together, the result is this amazing work of yours. Congratulations. Um brasileiro lhe dando os parabéns pelo excelente trabalho. Nota 20
Excellent video! I've been thinking of making something very similar, but this is far better than the project I was imagining. I love how you integrate colors into your design. I wish colorful MDF was more widely accessible here in the states. Also, my young daughters have been helping out in the shop and love watching woodworking RUclips videos with me. You're a big inspiration to them!
Excellent video :-) I love how you reused the wood from your exhibition stand for the drawer bottoms. Every time you remove one of the boxes, it'll bring back happy memories :-)
Wow :) Nice one. I'm currently in planning phase with something similar. (I also use Bosch boxes for my tools - mostly the 136, but I have the smaller i-boxxes in the LS-boxx to move the screws with the drill, so I want to make a drawer cabinet for the 102, 136 boxes and small drawers for only the screw-holding small trays that fit in the i-boxx.)
Очень хорошая идея. Буквально на днях думал ,что надо сделать нечто подобное, а тут увидел готовое решение. Странно, что раньше его не встречал, ведь смотрю ваши ролики уже года два.
I sincerely believe that you could simplify the drawer-making process by first gluing up a square "tube" of plywood (the same dimensions as if you had stacked all the drawer sides one on top of the other), and then just "cut to size" each drawer from that. You could either pre-slot for the bottoms, or glue/nail the bottoms on; either method is perfectly strong.
Ex cabinet installer here.
Put your screws in the end tang hole @ 3:03. Those tangs are meant to be used as a width adjustment. If the drawer binds you can put a shim behind the glide and still have everything flush.
Great looking project!
Great looking work... you've got skills...
When you grabbed the handle of the forest container you put in and pulled it out. I got shivers of satisfaction. This is an amazing construction.
Top-notch!
from what i understand this is not only a good storage method. If you do work elsewhere you can still take the cases with you without taking the whole drawer system.

For someone as OCD as me, that is about the coolest storage chest or storage anything I have ever seen! Totally awesome! I'm a new devotee!! :)

Phenomenal. I have none of your skills or tools but you are SELLING that x-carve and now I'm envying your resin 3d printer!
This is a professional job with a lot of intelligence, using modern tools the simple alliance of digital with your skills bravo !!I really admire
This is why I enjoy your videos. You try to make things look good.

A place for everything ... and everything in it's place. Love it! You make it look so easy. Thanks for the video, take care.
Very nice !! Excellent craftsmanship. My late father was a Master Cabinet Maker and he would have most definitely approved of your work.
You're a sorceress with golden hands. Thanks a lot for your magic.

This level of forethought with organization and attention to detail pleases me so much, thank you for sharing it!
Your storage cabinet project turned out great. The casters were a nice addition to be able to move around the shop.
Thanks for sharing.
This is the beat solution I’ve seen to these containers. Makes it easy to access and they look good too. I would just need labels on each drawer front.
What a brilliant project. Well designed and beautifully built. Why would anyone give this a thumbs down?
Man. I bet this feels SO good to have completed in the shop. nothing feels as good as being organized in the shop feels.

This was so satisfying to watch. The blue handles were an especially nice touch. Thanks for raising the bar!

Absolutely love the functionality of the drawer fronts - inspired.
Quality job, nicely executed.

So organized and it look good for my OCD, I love love love it!!
Like watching organizational videos and have seen several versions of this type 9f cabinet. Yours is among the best I have seen. Nice job.
Wow, the amount of labor for this video is mind blowing
I love that you never sacrifice form over function. These are so aesthetically pleasing and functional!
Wow this looks so good and so useful. I love it and I am very envious. I appreciate that you also mention the small mistakes done along the way.
Te quedó excelente, y como todos tus trabajos muy prolijos te felicito.Un saludo desde Uruguay
