- Today I am in Ashurst in West Sussex. It's a small village north of Worthing and close to Steyning. I am at the beautiful church there to meet John Eaton, 91, who has lived in the village all his life. I am curious to learn his memories of village life and how he made national headline news.

Oh man, the 'old' people sharing their real experiences of growing up. You can't exchange those experiences for gold! They are the last 'living' historical connection. Absolutely fascinating to listen/see.
Thanks so much for watching.
Wow he’s doing good for his age! Lovely man
He sure is.
That was precious! What a treasure John is! I was surprised when you said he was born in 1927 as he certainly did not look it! Was an amazing wealth of memories & history to glean from!!! As well, Ashurst was a very lovely little church. Beautiful church yard & I just loved those stained glass windows & the wood arches!😍 Well done Richard!
Also, I love how indepth the camera you used on this video was! Almost like looking into 3D & gave very sharp images!
Having grown up in the village It is great to see John and looking so well as I remember him.
Cool stuff - such a lovely chap!
An amazing glimpse into a lost world.
That was delightful.
Thanks Jeff.
Loved meeting John. Important to hear peoples stories Thankyou.
What a fascinating man - and so active and cheerful as well - thank you for the video!
I hope I am as active at his age!
A pleasure as ever.
He is very fascinating and he is lucky to get into the newspaper
They must have had a slow news day! :)

Horse and rider going past in the distance
still indicative of village life too, even in this day and age !
Thank you both 😘🇬🇧
I enjoyed meeting John very much.
Lovely story.
I do love old Country Churches....I'm sure Mr Eaton was telling fibs about being 91! He looks in his 70's.
Such a young and sprightly fella
Wonderful!
Thanks so much
