How much space do you leave between floors? The gap where you install the track? Is it 1in or 7/8? I have to install Mohawk 5-1 transitions from laminate to carpet. Also laminate to vinyl floor
You can probably get away with 7/8, but an inch gives you 1/2 inch for track and 1/4 inch expansion on both sides. Cut a small piece off your transition about an inch long and use it as a guide. Make sure it comfortably sets on your floors . Hope that helps
@@YOUFLOOR thanks
Great video. DIY Nation 💪🏼
YES SIR!! THANKS A LOT. GLAD TO HAVE YOU ON THE TEAM SEE
YA ON THE NEXT ONE
Your videos are great. What brand of transition molding do you use for LVP to carpet? Out of all my research I can’t find one that gets real good reviews.
Sorry this was supposed to be in the comments
I usually use whatever the customer orders withthier product. But if I'm on my own jobs. I like to go to floor and decor. Not sure of the brand but they have all the colors and material( laminate, lvp, wood) transitions. Lots to choose from. Not fond of the simple solutions with the plastic track. Lot of work to get those just right. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question

Zenon, quick question for you. I am about to do transitions but I am confused about proper placement. Do you base where you install off the width of the transition or is there a universal measurement you use where you stop the floor at the jamb? Thanks in advance
This is for laminate to carpet transition if that helps
If you place it under the door and then slide it back just a little. You may have to notch it a little around the door stop. The goal it to make it so you don't see the carpet when you're in the other room and not see any laminate from the other room when the door is closed. Try to find that perfect division. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question
