  • Hi all. In this video, I show how I removed my front wings (fenders if you are from over the pond) and the cab steps, got them refurbished and painted, and put them all back together again. I used replacement top steps from JH Engineering (Jonathan Horton Engineering) since they are good value and well made. Just another small step on the road to getting the truck MOT's and road registered.
Feel free to request to join the OVERLAND (CAMPING) AND EXPEDITION TRUCKS group if you have an overland camper (DAF or otherwise) yourself or have an aspiration to own one. It is a group which does not have too many restrictive rules, so welcomes related discussion and content on overlanding vehicles, including the Leyland Daf T244. I am turning my ex British Army lorry into an expedition vehicle / overland truck. Before I set about getting the habitation box started, I am trying to ensure that the basic mechanicals of the truck are in good, reliable order. I am not a mechanic, just a DIY'er and so this video is just for entertainment purposes, and shows what I did, including my mistakes which you can maybe learn from. Enjoy! :)
