A Blissfully Slow & Relaxing Early Morning Walk in a Cotswold Village

- So, today we are out and about in the Cotswold village of Duntisbourne Abbotts, which is located in the county of Gloucestershire in England. Duntisbourne Abbotts is one of four hamlets which make up the Duntisbournes and is also the largest of the four.
The village church is dedicated to St. Peter which was built in the 12th century and was built on the site of an earlier Saxon church. The tower dates from Norman times.
At 39:50 in the video we reach The Five Mile House which is a Grade II listed 17th century public house.

I cannot believe there is any place on earth as beautiful as the places you take me along for walks! I live in the US-just outside of Chicago Illinois. I live in rural VA , it looks very similar BUT I never hear so many birds in the morning! I wonder why...
Im in Tenn, I hear a lot of birds every morning, they start around 5am. I also have 3 bird feeders & bird bath in backyard.

Great walk, those houses look good I know that they are old but in good shape. They probably look creepy at 🌃 night. Like some of those scary movies. Woman walking in the dark and she suddenly hears footsteps following her.😊

I just found your channel, Beautiful area, Ive walked round upper and lower slaughter on holiday, so now make similar videos in Yorkshire ,; my nephew lives down that neck of the woods. I watch and also listen to your videos when im doing my art. Thank you.
DUNTISBOURNE ABBOTS is a lovely village with lots of character and charm.
I really liked the beginning of the walk with this pretty stream and this path in the greenery.
All the houses are almost made in the same gray stone of the region, but none are identical because of the gardens, or of a small detail.
This gives a sense of discovery to each of them.
The church seems to come out of a history book.

Howdy Sir🕶️, bad morning start, my hubby's coffee maker died overnight. His makes 12 cups at once, for breakfast and a workday thermos. So me 1 mug at a time Keurig had to work overtime to make ready. Leaves me with errand to fetch another BigBoy. Again I'm tickled how sweetly preserved Stream Dunt is, corralled by stone yet fauna feathered. Winsome village this, lovely indeed, handsome church and grounds: stunning stained glass, fish swimming on entry screen doorway, and distinctive yard with ancient side-by-side with cultured. I'm actually running out of words to describe me contentment and permanently afixed grin from walks withya. Each tour having sameness yet so so different, unique to the folks who built and live there. They and your sharing thereof be treasures.

Ah, the Dunt, what a lovely & picturesque river it is, we sure are blessed around these parts with our little rivers and streams. Ummm, Lady Jaclyn, I think I might just have to commandeer part of your sentence for a future title..."Winsome Village", I like that a lot! Keep the ideas coming 😉. It is OK, you don't have to describe your contentment for our walks as we know how much enjoyment you get from the walks, which is for me personally heartwarming 😊. And you are so right, every tour is different but the same also, probably because of a similar filming style but in a different location. I realise my style will not be for everyone but I am thrilled you enjoy it. Why are the English villages so beautiful? I live in India and everywhere be it village, towns, cities, everywhere it's just garbage thrown here and there, broken roads, dog shit, human shit, etc. I wish the British still ruled India.

Do you ever wonder about the kinds of people that are lucky enough to live in these villages away from all the mayhem that seems to be happening in this once beautiful country of ours.

Where's the mayhem? England is still 85% rural. We're literally surrounded by beauty. I don't live in a village - indeed a post-industrial northern town - but I have lovely canal and agricultural land walks just 20 mins walk from my doorstep, thatched cottages 5 minutes' walk from my house and deeper countryside of Cheshire or Lancashire just 20 minutes train journey away. Within 25 minutes' walk I know where to forage blackberries, sloes, elderflowers and berries, nettles, wild garlic, wild damsons etc.
Further afield, I can be in the Peak District, the Lake District, North Wales, the Trough of Bowland, the Lancashire coast, etc within 2 hours.
