Our 2 year old VOKRA foster cat Hildy and her 2 week old kittens have finally settled down in their new nursing box location and are all doing fine. They were rescued a week or so ago from an underground parking lot in an enclosed bike storage area. Животные
Aww,she moved her tinies somewhere warmer, cozier and maybe she thinks safer?
her kittens need a roof
This comment needs more thumbs up. :3
She got to keep moving to avoid FBI agents ever since her name came up in the busted catnip shipment investigation!
Cats are all about tactical security...they want to be low to the ground with overhead cover.
She is used to being outside and was planning ahead in case of bad weather...Smart Mama!
Hilde thought that an open box is not safe enough to leave her kittens, so she moved them to a more enclosed, defendable spot. Maybe it was also a Feng Shui thing.
LOL
🤣🤣🤣 cat shui
Hilde wanted a cozy cave not an open air fortress.:-) Love how you negotiate with Hilde.
Superman, " hey, i like fortress"
Very typical of a protective mother cat. There’s something about the situation that we humans are not seeing.
@funzjag I totally agree!! I cannot stand it when Fosters disturb sleeping kittens to accomplish their tasks. I see this all the time on RUclips and it drives me crazy!! Would you wake a sleeping baby? The answer is NO. Mom knows what is best for her and her kittens.
mjchenevertful I’m such a cat slave that I feel bad waking adult cat that’s sleeping! I can’t get too angry, after all these kind folks are giving this cat family a better chance at a good life. It did make me very uncomfortable, seeing a human second guessing a cat mom and moving her children. 🙀
But sometimes humans know when a location will lead to problems, such kittens escaping into an un-kittenproofed room...
sarareina84 Exactly. The mamas know when something feels safe according to what they know (e.g. covered so predators can’t see or reach them), but they don’t know the possible dangers of human dwellings and objects - this is how kittens born outside end up stuck in pipes and behind walls or investing something they shouldn’t. The mamas of all species have instincts but that doesn’t make them all-seeing or all-knowing.
sarareina84 I understand that, but they are better equipped than most other species. They have been with us for thousands of years. They’re also the only ones that decided to go come along. We humans think that they were self domesticated. Cats probably are of the mind that we are the domesticated species. If all humans disappeared tomorrow our feline friends would survive. If all cats disappeared tomorrow we might not survive. The rat , mouse, and rabbit populations would explode and decimate our crops and grain supplies. I do know what you’re saying though, we tend to have a lot of “stuff “ , some of it might not be safe for cat babies. On a side note, I have a little female tabby that figured out how to jump up and turn the light switch on and off as she sees fit. She started doing this when she was 8 months old! Not bad for a cat that was born to a feral mom underneath some porch steps!
"I live to make you happy, Hilde". OMG ...She is one determined Mamma Cat. "I will determine where my nest will be, thank you very much!"
Canuckmom1958 😹😹😹
I adore her 🤣. So stubborn
Mama knows best !
Poor kittens, being carried around the whole room like that lol.
Momma kitty knows best..lol.
Better kitten proof that room quicker than you planned. 😃
Next move she will hide them haha
S Laywell I think they need to kitten proof EVERYTHING my eldest black cat (who lived to be 19) had her kittens in the CLOSET!
Mama Hildy knows best!
She likes the cozy and safe cave, and it has a back door so she and her babies won't be "trapped".
Hildy is one smart and loving momkitty 💖
Eight little cute kittens. Mom cat was very diligent. And she takes care of the little ones very lovingly. Thanks for uploading😃
Hey! They're my babies! I choose we're we are to beeeee!
I like very much how you try to find a good solution that works for all! I think we are not so much the owners of our pets and animals but fellow beings who have to compromise to make everybody comfortable.
"What? Tell me if you're happy.." Ha ha too funny, the negotiating..
Hildy is just so cute!
And I understand why you don't want the kittens running wild around the room. I've watched you guys take such good care of so many cats and kittens over the past few years that I'd never question your judgement.
They look so gorgeous and beautiful that she wants to take them out and show them off to everyone
Aw how cute. I love the way you chat to them, and then they are squealing at you leave us alone or we will tell mummy and daddy too when he comes to visit. Meanwhile we will wait in the green room. Daddy has got to come later as he has to pay the maintenance.
This was so funny. She argued with no words and won. I love cats. Thank you. This was great.
She's right it's too exposed in the big box!
Very correct, plus it may be harassing to jump up and in and out of the box
Kitten academy makes an enclosed cardboard nursing box with an opening cut out for their momcats to get in and out easily
mama knows best lol!cats like a cave like enclosure to feel safe and secure. especially when it's a mama cat and her babies. she is very protective of her babies and she wants very little human contact from the outside. but she knows she may have to give in and once she knows her caregiver will not harm her or her babies she will come around and learn to trust and be comfortable with the handler allowing him to help take care of her babies. a lot of patience and care on both parts.
It seems that Hildi has a natural urge to be in a cave or den. The blanket over the top of the box made me get it. Brilliance Dr. N.! You show the signs of becoming a cat whisperer. Thank you for sharing your frustrations and precious moments.
My Tara had 7 kittens and they were located in a box in my closet. She showed me her birthing nest one day earlier before she gave birth. She chose this spot because it was hidden, not in the open area, very dark and high up which looked more like a cave. The hanging clothes served as a hidden canopy to sealed in her body heat over the box. I removed my clothes from the box and fixed it up for her with some old sheets and a old shirt of mines with my scent. She was very happy and I was very proud of her to allow me to be part of the process.
Love from Sweden .
Still wish I could have 2 of them and the mom .
🤗❤❤
Maria Nielsen 👍
No no no, fostering is a wonderful thing to do with your life. You are one of our true heros.
I do rescue and keep them. I. can't foster. I fall in love woth them.
What a good Mommy! If momma ain’t happy, nobody happy!
Ohh!!! Dying light!
Love those kitties.
This is my all-time favorite kitten video. I can't even count how many times I've watched it!
I'm glad you like it
I am very happy to see this cat Family-mama Hildy is so adorable.I very love her childrens Bussi.Last year i had follow the Videos of hildy.very fine doku
Mama knows best ❤
She likes being covered with her little ones. Give her the little bed she moved them to. She must spend a good hour moving all 8 of them. I could watch your videos all day long. Best wishes😙
"I take care of my own babies, thank u very much!" shes suuuch a darling mommmm
Ooooooooooooooooooooh she is such a gorgeous mother.
Don’t argue with momma lol
So adorable! Mom thinks she knows best! They’re so well fed . She’s doing it again? That’s hardwork.
I think she’s counting them.
Mom does knows what is best for her and her kittens. The constant disturbance of sleeping kittens and making mom uneasy and nervous isn't good at all.
It is so great to see you back to tending to young ones again. Such a bundle of cuteness.
The cuteness levels are overwhelming. Though after watching all your videos, fostering these families may be crazy but so rewarding too.
Oh the joys...she is a good mom...she took them with her.
Mama kitties always move their babies. They were probably warmer in the new place.
Aww Hildy moved all the gorgeous kittens they all look great, comfy in there little den..
Love these videos! The kittens can entertain me for a long time! So funny that Hildy insisted on moving her babies. That’s a lot of work to move 8 little guys.
Thanks
She's living up to the meaning of her name :)
She's just trying to put a roof over her little ones' head lol
Now that makes you smile.
Every cat in need I'll help. That's a promise.
When I was a kid our cat had a litter of kittens. My dad wanted those kittens to stay in a box in our basement but mama cat didn't like that. Everytime my dad brought the kittens downstairs, she would bring them right back up into a closet upstairs. Dad tried putting up a gate on the stairs, but she jumped over it with the kittens in her mouth. We gave up eventually, we weren't going to win that one, mama cat was absolutely determined where she wanted her kittens to be.
I hope you gave it up, Doug ... the cat always wins! PS: most mothers are crazy ... mine was!
Okay, I didn't think you'd need The Great Escape music THAT soon!
Oh well, I guess you're going to have to kitten proof the room 😂
What a lovely mum beautiful coat/markings
Den of cuteness.
Aww,.so sweet, can't help but chuckle.,there going to be all over the place soon.Mum has certainly took over the place.,she's going to keep you both on your toes!!!xx
The cats themselves understand the best places for them.
It may be warm and cozy where the cats have moved.
Cats family are originally stray cats, so they may not like the big and open places too much.
Hilde is so cute!!! 💖😀
Guessing Hildy wanted a cozier “apartment” for her babies. She had the situation under control. Her determination is tooooo funny‼️‼️🤣🤣🤣 A momma cat knows best🐾🐾💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I was wondering if Hildi needed a ‘cave’. Something a little bit more cozy and private.
This video was funny and entertaining! You are a good man trying to make Mom happy!
Thank you for the video!
,The Mommy kitty always desires a smaller & darker place when kittens are so small. Thank you for giving her the choice. Plus, they will be warmer❤️🙏❤️
she is one determined momma! so cute!
so cute Kittens and Hilde so cute
Seems like Hilde wanted a sort of cave-like area.
Hildie has her own plans for the kittens' safety. That open box has the kittens exposed to any passing predator. She knows that the kittens have to be moved to covered shelter, to protect them from harm and the weather.
I know that Hildie is probably the LEAST feral mama you've ever had, but she thinks like a wild thing. Good for her.
Sandra Nelson - Amen!!
She is not crazy or a troublemaker. She is a wonderful mother concerned about providing her family with protection and comfort. We humans are the ones who don't understand. I am sure you will find a way to meet her needs because you are a gifted animal caretaker. I send support and best wishes and look forward to your next vlog.
Agreed. He said it himself "She's just being a wonderful mother". It would have taken less time to piss proof?, the spot she picked.
Blue Raspberry chilll bruh!?
Such a great mama!
My cat heard the babies and ran over and started mewing and trying to get to them it was so hekin cute her old mama instincts kickin in haha shes sticll a bit of a kitten herself too its so precious haha
What a good baby. She’s the sweetest Mumma. And obviously, a great mother. And you obviously are a great parent to all these bundles of fur. Bless you my man.
LOL. Doug you ain't gonna win this one. What Hildy wants Hildy gets. Anyway. Glad you reached a compromise regarding a new spot for the kitties. Thanks for the work you do as a foster Dad (including with these cuties). Keep up your great work :-). By the way. Am I the only one here who's saying Mom's name incorrectly? Is it Hildy or Hilde??
I also thought Hildy !!! Aren't they just fantastic ? 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
I thought "Hilde" had to be wrong when I saw the other comments, and turns out we're right. The description says "Hildy", so yeah.
Boy, she sure has a big litter doesn't she!
Well done Doug!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉. That was challenging!!
Love Hilde and her kittens
Hilde(sp?) like " I know what I'm doing don't tell me other wise! Human person!"
Heh, look forward to future videos of them or the other guys soon. Keep up the best work.
Awwww! What a good mom! Moving her kittens to keep them safe.❣️ Didn't you have the same issue with Kami? 😊
Yes, Kami was a troublemaker too.
What a riot! So much drama! 😹🙀😸 You’ve got to get some photos of the brood in the basket... too cute! 😻
So funny how determined she is! Too cute!
Beautiful mama cat and beautiful kittens.
This mama a very good teacher
Ahhhh so cute i love them!
Is there anything cuter than a puddle of kittens?
Edit: maybe she didn’t like the feng shui of where the box was?
The *best* video in a long time. Thanks Doc.
Welcome
Hildy is perfect mom.
Me thinks you need to kitten proof the room a.s.a.p cause Mom an't playing.
Yep. I escaped them!!!! No... Don't move them back!!! Ugh. Pssst. Wait till he leaves.... (Besides there is sunlight there and it's more cuddly!) Moma's going to win!
What an adorable cuddle-puddle!
Adorable!
God bless you for what u have done
I had the same problem. I made a place in my closet. I put lots of blankets in there & guess what, she had put them in my bed under neith the covers so that was a no no lol😍😄😍 so I put them back in the closet and lo & behold she put them in drawer with my clothes which I thought was funny. So the rest was history lol😍☺😃😄🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱
That MommyCat is awesome!
Hilde maybe wants neck support and cozy blanket on top? Might even be geomagnetics. My c cats have power spots in the yard.
Aaaww! Those poor sweet babies! Poor old Mum runs herself ragged for them. Such a cute little family. I wish I was a kitten. 😻💔
These videos have improved my life tenfold
“The walls didn’t match our fur!!!”
That's a defence mechanism. She can see any attacks coming. A friends cat had her kittens in a closet. They would wonder around but she was good at collecting them lol.
You're very patient and so gentle with the littles. Thank you so much for helping this sweet family find kindness shelter warmth and love. Amazing to watch mamma making sure the babies are all safe and accounted for. Thanks for posting this video.
Oh I believe that Mama not is happy with this open box, she thinks they must have a roof on top... and she is right... in this box it's not cosy... and not safe... Hildy don't know they are safe... but she will learn very soon 👀😻❤🐾 and now... sweet Hildy need an extra portion food, for this big heavy work she did have... 😻❤🐾
ummhumm. exactly. I love cats. they teach you a lot about themselves. they let you know what they want.
omgoodness, how sweet
Aww they are so cute I love it
She's such a good momma.😊❤️❤️❤️
8:02 I think that cold shoulder tells it all.
I love them all!
Awwwe. All the work Mama did moving all of them and you tried moving them back. I'm so happy you put them back with Mama. I'll come over and sleep on the floor with all of them. You've got your hands full Daddy rescue man. There you go, put the whole little house inside of your homemade box. Too Cute! I wish I was there to Kitty sit for you. You are a doll. Sending love from us to all of you. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing your precious family with us. 💖😽🐾❤
This reminds me when two of my neighbors cats had kittens at the same time and Cinder (the crazy one) would take all of the kittens to her hiding spots much too the distress of Bandit (the other Momma cat) and try and take care of all eight of them.
That's absolutely adorable
