Also ugh… I remember getting my lobes done at piercing pagoda back in the day. They sold me antibacterial soap as my aftercare and told me to twist the jewelry twice per day. 🥴😅

when i first got my lobes done it was with a gun and my parents told me to clean them with vodka. yesterday i got my flat piercing done and i literally just make sure there are no crusties and otherwise leave it alone.
also, people don't really talk about how ears heal differently, my left ear takes forever to heal anything, while my right ear takes half the average healing time

Honestly, until I read your comment, I didn’t even think about how ears might heal differently. But when I think about my own experiences, my left ear piercings took FOREVER to heal and my right was a breeze. Wild! 😳

@@GeauxGretchen my ears are different as well! my left ear is a huge baby. it hates being stretched even just to a simple 16g, it also doesn't bleed when getting pierced. but my right ear is so simple. i've had my conch, tragus, and rook pierced on my right ear and i constantly forget i have piercings on it because it accepts literally everything i put into it..but it does bleed when getting pierced 🤷🏻‍♀

The piercer took out my chest dermal because it was red and sore (I think it was starting to reject), and I thought I would have a huge, raised scar. It's only been 2 weeks, but the scar is very small and flat. I think it will go away with bio oil!

Cartilage shattering is also a piercing gun risk because of the blunt trauma

Can I ask why you removed your labret piercing? It's something I'm considering, but not quite sure yet.

Piercing gun - know better, do better! I will NEVER get a piercing with a gun again.I have 30 piercings now, only my first and second lobes were done with a gun decades ago.

Hey anyone know what a soecific eyebrow infection looks like it was fine until i used makeup then i panicked bc i thought it was infected so i used saline spray stuff and that didnt help so i went back to sea salt soaks it was alot better until this morning where the pus stuff was thicker and blood tinged slightly!! Any advice it seems ok tho its not really sore its been 2 weeks and seems to be better except the slightly thicker liquid or pus and slight blood tinge it not hot or flaky skin so idk what to do omg i need help i have a titanium eyebrow barbell too so idk my body does NOT LIKE GOLD OR EXPENSIVE METALS!! Any advice would help and is welcome!! Thanks!!

Also with the temporary, if you get cartilage pierced, the skin may heal, but cartilage doesn’t regenerate. Got a forward helix taken out and I can still feel the hole in the cartilage though you can’t “see” it.
There is also metal sensitivities, some people are prone to swelling more so than others, some of us need to be pierced at a larger gauge because our body will try to reject it. Everyone’s body is different!

Don't forget about piercing myth no. 11 about removing the jewellery from your piercings before bed...
No! Jewellery should remain in your piercings at all times, even while sleeping, to maintain the holes at the correct size.

This is sorta on topic cuz you mentioned not using any alcohol products or hydrogen peroxide as they’re too strong but uh, another thing I’ve heard a million times on repeat when doing my research on the aftercare of piercings is to not use bactine cuz it’s also too strong and can do more damage than good…. Yea well, I’m so glad I did my research first versus texting the place where I got my snake bites and 2 eyebrow piercings done ! 🤡 Cuz that person told me to use bactine lol. Which I didn’t considering piercers via RUclips and other RUclipsrs that have had / have piercings suggested otherwise. I use H2Ocean saline solution and my piercings are doing amazing. I was also told to rinse my mouth with Listerine which I don’t do since ur not supposed to use any alcohol based products and idk what’s up with the zero 😂 I’m not taking the risk !!! 😭 Instead I rinse with non iodine salt Aka Dead sea salt or natural sea salt lol. The ibuprofen everyone recommended for the swelling and so did the person I texted and that I am taking. I’m just so glad I did my research first cuz …. I’m new to piercings dude and I’m sure I would’ve been naive and taken that bad aftercare healing advice 😭
I did my research cuz well, it was late at night & I was trippin about one of my snake bites cuz it was so close to my skin instead of sticking out & idk, I just thot like it’s gonna sink into my skin & I didn’t know whether that was normal or not & I was just overall extremely anxious & worried. Thx to my best friend “anxiety” I ended up finding out all I needed to know about the aftercare healing process, what not to use & what to use, what’s normal & what isn’t.
It was so close to my skin cuz my lip was mildy swollen. Which has gone down since like days after using H2Ocean, rinsing with the sea salt & taking ibuprofen.
I also learned about nesting which I’m glad I did cuz that would’ve been something to trip about hadn’t I the knowledge & it had occurred.

Ngl I used alcohol on all my helix piercing to shrink the bumps, they’re filled healed now

My piercer told me to use rubbing alcohol on my daith piercing bumps one a week to dry it out. I did, and it worked!

The most common myth about piercings is that they are attractive, unless you like walking around looking like a Christmas tree.
