Brother you rock thank you so much for this video series I learned so much. I have been getting so many requests lately for spraying cabinets, that I bit the bullet and just purchased a P5 Pro LE with the 2 quart pressure pot set up. I'm looking forward to learning from you and Eric Reason! Thank you for all the hard work that went to making this vide

My local Sherwin Williams rep carries Kem aqua for me. For dark colors he uses the clear base. It's working great for me.

joe carrr my local store carries it for me too and they are pretty awesome. There is a limit to the depth of color they can tint it to in the store however

@@MichaelCraine are they using the white base or the clear? I've had the tint it to espresso and it turned out great.

joe carrr depends on the color, darker colors take the clear

Hi Michael. Have you noticed any of the "chipiness" that Eric mentions when talking about BIN shellac or COVERSTAIN when used as prime coats?

    • @MichaelCraine

John Bernard I have on about 2 garbage doors as of now

    • @johnbernard7032

@@MichaelCraine Interesting. Was it equally noticeable with both primers (CS/BIN)? Or was one more prone to it? Has this prompted you to look for alternative primers? If so, which ones? I know Eric is a big fan of vinyl sealers...

John Bernard I primarily use Bin so that’s my only experience. Has been rare for me but has popped up. Seems to only be on the garbage doors so I’m assuming it was a contaminated surface we didn’t grind down enough unfortunately

@@MichaelCraine Have you experimented with any of the water-based primers? I just did a test with STIX and was pretty impressed with the results -- even thinned it down, which the company advises against. I've also had good results with Zinsser 123, although not quite as good as STIX. Also, how did you notice the "chipiness"? Were you intentionally banging the door against a hard object to test for adhesion?

John Bernard I’ve had great results with Xim uma extreme bond when I used it however I am limited to using it under dark colors or very light colored woods as I’m worried about tannins. We did a kitchen with Xim then GF enduro poly that we glazed and clear coated a few years ago, the upstairs condo ice maker leaked for weeks and destroyed most of the kitchen, all the drywall flooring and fixtures. The cabinets were perfect minus some soaking of the MDF on one of the bases. My client let me know the insurance guy asked what the hell they were made out of lol
