    Watched this and then took my wife to the dealership for a test drive without mentioning your flaw concerns. She intuitively and quickly figured out the Touch pad. I watched her carefully and she just worked it seamlessly. We purchased about a week later and as she was walking through each function on delivery with the salesperson she had no issues.

    I’ve had my UX for 4 months now and I’m loving it. After watching multiple reviews complaining about the track pad / infotainment, I still don’t see the problem. It was quick to learn and get used it. I personally now prefer using the track pad compared to stretching and reaching over to a touch screen that I had in my previous vehicle. IMO, it’s silly to discredit and call it a fatal flaw. I love my car and would definitely recommend the UX to those in the market on getting one.

      Question, do you have the ux 250 h or the ux 250 h fsport? I’m trying to see the difference other than price. I’m considering this car a lot. I like the cross over idea and the hybrid option.

      I am commenting late, but this is my sentiment too. It is not rocket science. I hated finger prints on my last car. I have the UX and prefer the mouse.

    Another new UX 250h owner here. You're labelling the car "unbuyable" because you don't know how to turn on the radio? Sure, ok then. The car was designed with ergonomics in mind. Your right arm rests naturally, allowing you to access infotainment (and most other controls if you choose) without the need to reach for the dash for a button or knob. It took me about 30 seconds to use, and be proficient with the trackpad. Absolutely innovative in my book.

    When I first got the UX, it took me a few days to figure out the infor system... Now I think it is the best thing I have in the car... It is simple and cool to use once you figure it out.. believe me...

      For trackpads, i think that there are two type. One is call PC and one is called Apple. I find that when i am on a Mac, i don’t think about it at all. It feels natural. The opposite is on a PC which it just feels hard to use. do you feel the same? I am going to check out the UX soon.

      I’m also an owner. Before purchasing the dealer let me keep their demonstrator overnight which was great as I could test the trackpad while the car was in my garage. I dialled down the sensitivity and haptic feedback to suit my tastes and familiarised myself with the system. Decided it was much better than I had read and heard. Now some months after buying a UX I actually prefer it to the touch screen in my previous car. I never have to use the trackpad while driving because air conditioning and all audio controls are accessible elsewhere and voice commands look after the rest.

    • @aacmove
      @aacmove 2 года назад +1

      Let's face it. People who pick holes in things are just trying to be picky. I have no issue with the track pad. As you say stick in a USB key and away you go. The only think is when I play music from my phone, the system takes a while to re-establish a connection to the USB key. And Android Auto won't recognize all the music apps on my phone. That's annoying.
      The one thing that gets me, which nobody mentions in any videos, is the line of the front wheel cladding, doesn't match the line of the side of the car. Ufff. My OCD! Maybe, just maybe, the front seat could have a bit more support. I don't have the electric lumbar support in my version.

    I must say you were honest in your review. I drive lexus hybrid. Nothing can come close to this brand for reliability and comfort. Yes, info system needs to be fixed.
    Good job.
    People who drive European cars tend to be racist against this brand, not all of them. I guess, after few years of reliability issues with German cars, they buy Lexus. After that, they never go back to German make. Bitter reality...
    Many many years ago benz was know for its reputation and reliability. Its gone. Sadly...this what happens when you become greedy...

    You never need to use the track pad as just about every command is available by voice recognition. The reviewer is ignorant. I have the UX250h in the pearl mica white which is great. I get 54 MPG (UK) which is huge even compared to a 520D (35-47 MPG). Ok. so a Corolla 1.8 hybrid will do 68 MPG but it has narrow seats and poor headroom. I see 60 mph in 7 seconds.
    Its quick, quiet and smooth. A great buy.

    • @danilika9420
      @danilika9420 Год назад

      Am I ignorant, though? Because last time I checked, you couldn't do simple stuff like switch between the radio interface and Google Maps using voice commands, for example. And last time I checked, Lexus ditched the dumb little trackpad and replaced it with a touchscreen...

  • @hstaff3336

    I think that if I got a UX, I would get used to the trackpad and even if I didn’t, I would just stick a phone clip in front of the screen. I currently drive a 2013 Acura RDX and haven’t used the infotainment in months because of phone clips!

  • @marryson123

    The touch pad itself may not be easy to use, but you will get used to it. However, I do like the position of the pad. I can just rest my arm on the center console to control the screen. I dont have to bend forward to use the touch screen. That said, It would be nice if they could have a touch screen to go with the pad.

    Like your laptop or MacBook which have also trackpads it’s adjustable to your own needs. The UX trackpad is the same. When I use it, it’s such fine seamless interface. But most of the Car Reviewers and journalist are all in the rush to much to get an indepth experience with all the features of the car. Don’t be to negative about it, it weakens your review quality on RUclips about this and other cars.

    Having had the RXh, I’m well aware of the Lexus brand and creature comforts, but for comparable money, I’d be inclined to think long and hard about a loaded RAV4 Limited Hybrid before the UX. More space, comparable amenities, spare tire, can option a panoramic moon roof, etc.

    The infotainment is fine if you take a little time to learn it. It's the only complaint people say about lexus but it only take like a week of use before it become intuitive. I have this one and the one with the haptic feedback joystick in my 20015 ES. They are both easy to learn if you can read and actually want to. For it to be a deal breaker on this car then it's a deal breaker on all Lexus vehicles except the brand new ones.

    The only distracting thing about the car is the person sitting in it trying to hide his weird yellow tattoo on his thigh with his hands. I was waiting for a huge emoji popping up on the screen. For professional sake wear a slightly longer pair of shorts so you aren't waving your hands to hide the yellow ink which clearly you aren't proud of. And btw click bait. Thought it was an important thing like the actual drivability of the car.
