The reason I believe He forgives me of past, present, and future sins is because He says He remembers them no more. I remembered that God is eternal. Not stuck in time like us for now. So He knows ALL our sins and remembers ALL of them no more.

I was saved July 14th, 1985. I wasn't raised religious. As a child I attended a Pentecostal church because my Great Uncle and Aunt were Pastors there. Through my teens, Salvation Army. But, I never got saved. I knew little about salvation or the Bible. On that Sunday in 1985 I was invited to church by a coworker. It was Picnic Sunday and I brought my 9 year old daughter so that she could have a "fun" day. Little did I know what God had planned for me...Praise His Holy Name!!!!, but I could not believe salvation and the gift of eternal life was so direct and in a way...."easy". I kept asking..."That's it"? "What does the scripture say?" was the repeated response. I struggled for over 6 months to grasp eternal security. I had family that rejected it...."you can backslide" they said. "and fall from grace." One late Sunday night as I watched a TV preacher (I didn't know a good one from a false one at this point) who claimed he had not committed a single sin in over 2 years. All it took for Adam and Eve was 1 sin. I was scared to death and could not sleep that night, because even though I had gotten saved...I still sinned daily. Monday morning break at work I prayed and asked the Lord to help me understand. I began flipping pages, and finding verses that gave me peace and assurance. My favorite Bible verse...JN. 5:24 He that heareth my word and believeth on Him that sent me HATH everlasting life (present tense), and SHALL NOT come into condemnation (future), but IS passed (present tense) from death unto life. I think it is sad that so many professing Christians lack the ability to simply rest in the finished work of Christ.

@@discipleadamos9527 HEBB. 10 :26-29 is indeed a difficult passage. But here's the problem. Did the writer of Hebrews contradict himself? What does verse 10 say? Believers are sanctified ONCE. That means we are separated from our sins and saved from condemnation the moment we accept Christ. Period. Verse 14..."For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." Salvific sanctification is POSITIONAL. We are set apart from sin and hell; and set apart for eternal life. There are many clear passages teaching eternal security. It is unfortunate that many Christians read into difficult texts that one can fall from grace. Those other verses you cited are not a big deal. But they do not teach falling from grace.

If our future sins are not forgiven, that means Christ would have to die a second time to shed his blood for those sins. They just don't understand what Christ truly did!
They always say ohhhh you have a license to sin, yet they do the exact same thing with repentance, " if you screw up, just repent." It's the same thing that they are accusing us of doing.
They always hold repentance as a forgiveness standard even though without blood there is no remission of sins, they make Jesus to be another OT sacrifice, only forgiving their past sins.
I agree that doing good works can't delete past guilt from existence nor will Gd consider them a payment for his forgiveness. However, what are you defining as salvation ?

Don't let them. That's the power they want to have over you. God has not given us a spirit of fear. If you feel fear after you have believed then it is not of God. Believe God when he tells us that we have everlasting life, that we shall not come into condemnation, that no man can pluck us from his hand. Instead of fearing false prophets, laugh at them. I remember after I was first saved, I kept falling into my old sins and kept smoking. I was expecting them to go away but I've never surrendered them to the Lord! I know the santification is real because slowly through my walk with God, I stopped cussing, I stopped listening to secular music and stopped watching secular shows, I stopped hanging around people who weren't about Christ and started attending Church everyday. Then I finally quit smoking just at the beginning of this month but the only way I did it was because of Christ! He gives you the strength to rid you of the bondages of sin! Philippians 4:13. People often wanna jump the gun and say, "Hey since you haven't shown this in your walk then maybe you should check your salvation" But God takes His time with us because He is patient with us and thank Him for his grace and mercy and his patience because if He didn't have those, then we would have already been at the second coming of Christ being unsaved. I remember watching this Documentary and just being shaken like "Can I rest or can I not rest?" I know I will continue to sin but I do not take pleasure in it and when I do sin, we have access to the Father to come before the throne of grace and ask for forgiveness. The warning signs are for us to persevere in this wicked world, because we know the truth so why would we turn away from it when we as Christians know the outcome of the devil and his adversaries??? That's why those warnings are there brethren. Let us offer reproach, rebuke, and sound doctrine to anyone who is Christian so that way all of our walks look the same. Thats the end goal right there is for our walks to all look like Jesus's walk. Amen.

To those who say we can lose our salvation. If we have to have some level of performance to remain saved, how much performance is needed? Seems to me, perfection would be the only standard God could accept.
He knew sinless perfection is impossible that's why he gave us another way his sons sacrifice he even tried to have the jews follow his laws amd no one could keep it perfectly because we have a fleshly sin nature inside of us

You don’t lose your salvation because of a sin. You lose your salvation because of a condition of your heart. If you have decided to reject God and no longer accept Christ as Lord of your life you are no longer saved. It has nothing to do with performance and I don’t know anyone who thinks it does.

If one reads Mark 7:21-23 then many if not most sins are internal. There isn't a day that I haven't sinned in either thought, word, or deed. Even "The thought of foolishness is sin...." Prov 24:9 Having said that, there are probably 'internal sins' that I may not be fully aware of at the moment.
While I don't know anyone living today that I would put huge confidence in them completely ceasing from sin, the scripture DOES say that believers can and must completely cease from sin. This is conveyed at varying degrees of clarity and directness. I'll just give a FEW of the MOST direct verses: Rom. 6: 2, 6: 6, 6: 11; 1 Cor. 1: 5-8; 2 Cor. 5: 15-18, 10: 4-6; 1 Peter 4: 1-2; 1 John 3: 9
If he didn’t die for all of our sins, not one of us would make it. If it was possible to lose our salvation, we most assuredly would. Every one of the preachers teaching otherwise are themselves sinners and by their own definitions are unsaved.
Jesus didn't die for your sins. That's a corruption from Rome used to convert pagans who used sacrifice for the remission of sins. Jesus taught forgiveness of sins was through repentance, obedience to the Law, forgiving others, mercy and love.

I’m so glad that God brought me out of thinking I could lose my salvation. All that belief did was show me how sinful I was and how unable I am to live right in my own ability. Thank God he has saved me by his grace and I am forever secure. I may still stumble into sin, but it is impossible for me to continue in sin because I have been born again. The Holy Spirit has given me a new heart that desires to obey God.
At their core, they're the brother standing outside their father's house, angry that their prodigal brother has been welcomed back into the Father's house. They're Cain who hates their brother Abel who knows he can only cover his sin with the blood while they want to work them off. They hate God's grace. When they're outside the locked gates of heaven they will scream 'Lord lord have we not...!?' They think they have somehow achieved an acceptable level of holiness. It's sickening.
He gave his Apostles the authority to forgive and retain sin. John 20:21-23. He died for original sin. All sins flowed forth from original sin, but the deal is not to live in sin

Believers still sin but it is the flesh that sins not the new creature in Christ. Learning to master/control the flesh is a hard road and a tough fight. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

We call their belief system "Loss of Salvation Theology" (LOST). It's also 1 point Calvinism, because LOST adopts Perseverance of the Saints. The only difference is, they say one must persevere in "continued faith" or "faithfulness," and Calvinism says persevere in works. There's no difference between the two, as they both require one to merit themselves to God via works. I'm glad Jesse touched on this, because we've been warning ex-Calvinists about this doctrine as being 1 point Calvinism and a false gospel of works-salvation. Also, Jesse, this was an excellent response video. It's exactly what my wife and I did too. We had to stop it down so much to correct what they're saying, that it took hours to finish the video.

We are NOT saved BY works but FOR works. big difference! We are saved by GRACE not by WORKS. We cannot earn our salvation by works because we can never be good enough. Jesus paid for ALL our sins on the cross. When He said "It is finished" It meant there was nothing more we could do. It's not rocket science!

Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. It's right there, once you have believed the Gospel, all sins are forgiven, and he no longer charges any new ones to your account.
If it were just the past sins we'd have no hope.... Because that would mean Jesus blood only applies to past sins... How many of us were alive when Jesus died? Confessing sins does nothing it's Jesus blood that wipes them cleans as snow... Either it wiped Past/Present/Future or it didn't... and the Holy Bible says it was all wiped clean by the blood atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

@@prayforcere True born-again believers are new creatures in Christ, Christ lives in us, and we live in Christ. It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me. Believers still sin but it is the flesh that sins not the new creature in Christ. Learning to master/control the flesh is a hard road and a tough fight. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Honest question. If you lose salvation once you sin again, at what point was you saved? The last time you sinned and repented? I know a guy who says you are saved again after repentance but will also say he was saved 20 years ago but has sinned since and is living holy now. So I honestly can’t make sense because by that logic he would be saved after the last sin and repentance.
@@-TheMostHigh as someone who believes it is possible to backslide, I will say that I do not believe that sin action is what causes you to backslide. I do believe Christ’s atonement covered all our sins, past, present and future. I also believe that in His grace God judges the heart not our mistakes. However, if we allow ourselves to fall to the point that we no longer make Him Lord in our hearts then we are no longer saved. If I have decided in my heart that I am going to live my life how I want regardless of what God says because He is going to forgive me anyway then that is what a backslidden Christian looks like. However, if I am seeking after God and asking Him to help me to work out the things in my life that do not reflect the love of Christ, even though I still fall I am covered by the grace and mercy of God.
A free gift is either free and accepted , or free and rejected . It is not earned - otherwise it is not a free gift . I have decided to hide in Christ and trust Him alone for my salvation . Titus Chapter 3 , verse 5 is very relevant .

If we could lose our salvation everyone would. He put no part of human effort in the plan of salvation. The only work we do is to believe in the shed blood of Jesus.

God has forgiven us of all sin. The believer in Christ is positionally justified in Christ, but the problem arises when the believer continues to sin (such as not forgive). Sin will never hurt the familial relation (child of God) between God and the believer - the positional aspect of their justification. Sin DOES and WILL on the other hand affect the believer’s walk and fellowship with God (practical, daily sanctification). Sin is always condemned, and it always produces death, but the believer has a new nature that cannot sin. Therefore that nature cannot die. It is the believer’s flesh (and his tendency to walk therein) that causes the problems. This flesh will ultimately die or be changed - 1 Cor. 15:50-54. - Trent

I just want to say that I think we have no concept of the depths of our fallen and sinful nature, in the sense that we often sin without even realising it, especially in our thoughts. For these people to think that they have a complete handle on all their sins of which they are then able to repent of, is an absolute lie and a complete deception of self. ALL our sins were not in “ the present” when Christ died as they were still not committed yet by us. So therefore all our sins had to have been paid for. He paid the total debt not partial so that we had to cover the rest. What if I forget 2 sins??3,4 10, 20?? The number of sins we don’t confess has no impact on the fact that we are still grafted into The Vine……. This really is so frustrating at how the gospel as a whole is twisted and misrepresented. Many people are sadly being led astray because of this error. Humans are the ones that put categorize sins but all sin no matter how “ big or small” misses the mark in God’s eyes. This is why we are told it’s not by works so we don’t boast …. “Look at how less I sin” or “ I don’t commit THAT sin 😳” Hebrews 10:12,18 All of this series was so good but this last one imo is the most crucial to understanding the totality of what being saved actually means and why. If none of our sins are forgiven (which includes future sins) then the work that Jesus done wasn’t complete and He shouldn’t be sitting down then . But as we know Jesus completed everything 100% perfectly by his perfect sacrifice. And was raised by the Father.

If you CONTINUE in sin there is no more sacrifice. We all need to strive to stop sinning, all sin. Its easy, if hate the world. Christs blood is the only way we are acceptable. He and the father ask us to stop sinning period.
True repentance is acknowledging you’re wicked state before a holy God and acknowledging with humility that you deserve hell, but you realize and trust that Jesus Christ’s work and sacrifice has been extended to you. You accept Him as your Lord and Savior because of HIS work that He accomplished, not your work on whether or not you remember to confess every single sin in order to make yourself worthy of Him.
It's obvious they can't see the difference between salvation and sanctification. We are not sinless but God asks us through Him to sin less and conform ourselves more to Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.
It would be quite interesting to interview each of the proponents of conditional security separately to find out: 1. How exactly does a true believer lose their salvation. 2. If salvation is lost, can the person get it back? Multiple times? 3. How do they get it back? Do they receive/believe in Christ again as when they were initially saved or just confess the latest sin or feeling of apostasy and that restores them? In other words, do they fall all the way down the ladder or just a rung or two. My guess is that we would end up with very different answers. I don’t think there is a unanimous theological position among these folks. The documentary, however, makes it look like they are all unified in their theology. But if they are going to proclaim the “unbiblical position” of OSAS then perhaps they can also make a documentary answering in detail questions similar to what I asked.
Eternal security is Christianity 101. I am dumbfounded that so many educated theologians do not believe in this simple doctrine. Then again, the Pharisees and religious leaders at the time of Jesus' ministry were advocating the same kind of works-righteousness. Even here in Korea where I live, multitudes of church-going people are messed up because of Calvinism and Arminianism.

3 salvation tenses: 1) Spirit saved forever by belief in Jesus. 2) Soul ( mind, willl emotions) being saved. However, it goes with the spirit at physical death. 3) Body- will be saved at the rapture because our spirits are saved. We can see 3 tenses of peace and redemption as well.

I think the thing most people miss is that how God views a person’s sin before and after salvation. Once a person truly is saved by faith in Jesus God has forgiven them from their sins. How? Well by the covering of the blood of Jesus instilled and sealed within them the Holy Spirit not to become unsealed by anything they do. God no longer views a believers sins in a condemnation manner because the ability for sin to cause this for a believer has been nullified by the sacrifice Jesus provided on the cross for us. What I’m trying to say is once saved you always saved. There is nothing you can do to undo salvation God has provided to you by the only work that will save us and that is our faith. Once God has that window of opportunity he seals you with his spirit that you cannot unseal. The Holy Spirit and new man are what produces good works not the old man. All credit and glory goes to God / Jesus.

The Bible says we are SEALED by the Holy Spirit ! If you are SEALED, you are sealed from the outside. You're sealed in!! Can ANYTHING that is sealed escape? What Works based preachers don't understand is that when you get saved you are saved by grace you are preserved by grace everything that you do is done under the umbrella of Grace you don't have to do anything after you get saved. What happens is that God changes your HAVE TO into a want to! I am so thankful that when I asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins he forgave me of everything past present and future and when he looks at me he sees not me not my righteousness but he sees Jesus and the righteousness that he has imputed to me through the death burial and resurrection that only God himself could perform! The reason I believe He forgives me of past, present, and future sins is because He says He remembers them no more. I remembered that God is eternal. Not stuck in time like us for now. So He knows ALL our sins and remembers ALL of them no more.

I was saved July 14th, 1985. I wasn't raised religious. As a child I attended a Pentecostal church because my Great Uncle and Aunt were Pastors there. Through my teens, Salvation Army.
But, I never got saved. I knew little about salvation or the Bible. On that Sunday in 1985 I was invited to church by a coworker. It was Picnic Sunday and I brought my 9 year old
daughter so that she could have a "fun" day. Little did I know what God had planned for me...Praise His Holy Name!!!!, but I could not believe salvation and the gift of eternal life was so direct and in a way...."easy". I kept asking..."That's it"?
"What does the scripture say?" was the repeated response.
I struggled for over 6 months to grasp eternal security. I had family that rejected it...."you can backslide" they said. "and fall from grace."
One late Sunday night as I watched a TV preacher (I didn't know a good one from a false one at this point) who claimed he had not committed a single sin in over 2 years.
All it took for Adam and Eve was 1 sin.
I was scared to death and could not sleep that night, because even though I had gotten saved...I still sinned daily.
Monday morning break at work I prayed and asked the Lord to help me understand. I began flipping pages, and finding verses that gave me peace and assurance.
My favorite Bible verse...JN. 5:24
He that heareth my word and believeth on Him that sent me HATH everlasting life (present tense), and SHALL NOT come into condemnation (future), but IS passed (present tense)
from death unto life.
I think it is sad that so many professing Christians lack the ability to simply rest in the finished work of Christ.

Believers are sanctified ONCE. That means we are separated from our sins and saved from condemnation the moment we accept Christ. Period.

Salvific sanctification is POSITIONAL. We are set apart from sin and hell; and set apart for eternal life.
There are many clear passages teaching eternal security. It is unfortunate that many Christians read into difficult texts that one can fall from grace.
Those other verses you cited are not a big deal. But they do not teach falling from grace.

I remember after I was first saved, I kept falling into my old sins and kept smoking. I was expecting them to go away but I've never surrendered them to the Lord! I know the santification is real because slowly through my walk with God, I stopped cussing, I stopped listening to secular music and stopped watching secular shows, I stopped hanging around people who weren't about Christ and started attending Church everyday. Then I finally quit smoking just at the beginning of this month but the only way I did it was because of Christ! He gives you the strength to rid you of the bondages of sin! Philippians 4:13. People often wanna jump the gun and say, "Hey since you haven't shown this in your walk then maybe you should check your salvation" But God takes His time with us because He is patient with us and thank Him for his grace and mercy and his patience because if He didn't have those, then we would have already been at the second coming of Christ being unsaved. I remember watching this Documentary and just being shaken like "Can I rest or can I not rest?" I know I will continue to sin but I do not take pleasure in it and when I do sin, we have access to the Father to come before the throne of grace and ask for forgiveness. The warning signs are for us to persevere in this wicked world, because we know the truth so why would we turn away from it when we as Christians know the outcome of the devil and his adversaries??? That's why those warnings are there brethren. Let us offer reproach, rebuke, and sound doctrine to anyone who is Christian so that way all of our walks look the same. Thats the end goal right there is for our walks to all look like Jesus's walk. Amen.

You don’t lose your salvation because of a sin. You lose your salvation because of a condition of your heart. If you have decided to reject God and no longer accept Christ as Lord of your life you are no longer saved. It has nothing to do with performance and I don’t know anyone who thinks it does.

If one reads Mark 7:21-23 then many if not most sins are internal. There isn't a day that I haven't sinned in either thought, word, or deed.

While I don't know anyone living today that I would put huge confidence in them completely ceasing from sin, the scripture DOES say that believers can and must completely cease from sin. This is conveyed at varying degrees of clarity and directness. I'll just give a FEW of the MOST direct verses:

I’m so glad that God brought me out of thinking I could lose my salvation. All that belief did was show me how sinful I was and how unable I am to live right in my own ability. Thank God he has saved me by his grace and I am forever secure. I may still stumble into sin, but it is impossible for me to continue in sin because I have been born again. The Holy Spirit has given me a new heart that desires to obey God.
At their core, they're the brother standing outside their father's house, angry that their prodigal brother has been welcomed back into the Father's house. They're Cain who hates their brother Abel who knows he can only cover his sin with the blood while they want to work them off. They hate God's grace. When they're outside the locked gates of heaven they will scream 'Lord lord have we not...!?' They think they have somehow achieved an acceptable level of holiness. It's sickening.

If you cannot serve two masters, and Christ is your master, and Christ said he who sins is a servant of sin, can you still sin and call Christ your master or will he deny ever knowing you?
We call their belief system "Loss of Salvation Theology" (LOST).
It's also 1 point Calvinism, because LOST adopts Perseverance of the Saints. The only difference is, they say one must persevere in "continued faith" or "faithfulness," and Calvinism says persevere in works. There's no difference between the two, as they both require one to merit themselves to God via works. I'm glad Jesse touched on this, because we've been warning ex-Calvinists about this doctrine as being 1 point Calvinism and a false gospel of works-salvation.

We are NOT saved BY works but FOR works. big difference! We are saved by GRACE not by WORKS. We cannot earn our salvation by works because we can never be good enough. Jesus paid for ALL our sins on the cross. When He said "It is finished" It meant there was nothing more we could do. It's not rocket science!

If it were just the past sins we'd have no hope.... Because that would mean Jesus blood only applies to past sins... How many of us were alive when Jesus died? Confessing sins does nothing it's Jesus blood that wipes them cleans as snow... Either it wiped Past/Present/Future or it didn't... and the Holy Bible says it was all wiped clean by the blood atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Honest question. If you lose salvation once you sin again, at what point was you saved? The last time you sinned and repented? I know a guy who says you are saved again after repentance but will also say he was saved 20 years ago but has sinned since and is living holy now. So I honestly can’t make sense because by that logic he would be saved after the last sin and repentance.

I do believe Christ’s atonement covered all our sins, past, present and future. I also believe that in His grace God judges the heart not our mistakes. However, if we allow ourselves to fall to the point that we no longer make Him Lord in our hearts then we are no longer saved. If I have decided in my heart that I am going to live my life how I want regardless of what God says because He is going to forgive me anyway then that is what a backslidden Christian looks like. God has forgiven us of all sin. The believer in Christ is positionally justified in Christ, but the problem arises when the believer continues to sin (such as not forgive). Sin will never hurt the familial relation (child of God) between God and the believer - the positional aspect of their justification.
Sin DOES and WILL on the other hand affect the believer’s walk and fellowship with God (practical, daily sanctification). Sin is always condemned, and it always produces death, but the believer has a new nature that cannot sin. Therefore that nature cannot die. It is the believer’s flesh (and his tendency to walk therein) that causes the problems. This flesh will ultimately die or be changed - 1 Cor. 15:50-54.

ALL our sins were not in “ the present” when Christ died as they were still not committed yet by us. So therefore all our sins had to have been paid for.
He paid the total debt not partial so that we had to cover the rest.

True repentance is acknowledging you’re wicked state before a holy God and acknowledging with humility that you deserve hell, but you realize and trust that Jesus Christ’s work and sacrifice has been extended to you. It's obvious they can't see the difference between salvation and sanctification. We are not sinless but God asks us through Him to sin less and conform ourselves more to Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.

It would be quite interesting to interview each of the proponents of conditional security separately to find out: 1. How exactly does a true believer lose their salvation. 2. If salvation is lost, can the person get it back? Multiple times? 3. How do they get it back? Do they receive/believe in Christ again as when they were initially saved or just confess the latest sin or feeling of apostasy and that restores them? In other words, do they fall all the way down the ladder or just a rung or two.
My guess is that we would end up with very different answers. I don’t think there is a unanimous theological position among these folks. The documentary, however, makes it look like they are all unified in their theology. But if they are going to proclaim the “unbiblical position” of OSAS then perhaps they can also make a documentary answering in detail questions similar to what I asked.
God sees all time, he forgives all who put their trust in Jesus. He didn't send his son to do a partial forgiveness. We will still fall short.
Eternal security is Christianity 101. I am dumbfounded that so many educated theologians do not believe in this simple doctrine. Then again, the Pharisees and religious leaders at the time of Jesus' ministry were advocating the same kind of works-righteousness. Even here in Korea where I live, multitudes of church-going people are messed up because of Calvinism and Arminianism.

I think the thing most people miss is that how God views a person’s sin before and after salvation. Once a person truly is saved by faith in Jesus God has forgiven them from their sins. How? Well by the covering of the blood of Jesus instilled and sealed within them the Holy Spirit not to become unsealed by anything they do. God no longer views a believers sins in a condemnation manner because the ability for sin to cause this for a believer has been nullified by the sacrifice Jesus provided on the cross for us. What I’m trying to say is once saved you always saved. There is nothing you can do to undo salvation God has provided to you by the only work that will save us and that is our faith. Once God has that window of opportunity he seals you with his spirit that you cannot unseal. The Holy Spirit and new man are what produces good works not the old man. All credit and glory goes to God / Jesus.
