Great video Nick as ususl and have to say that those new hand pokers you make look and work amazing!!! I love the two I got from you recently,,, you really need to do a new video showing them off and to start selling them. Take care friend :)
Can you plz link below where i can purchase a better made machine an not have to pay an arm for it...my cheap ones are good machines don't get me wrong but I'm ready for that next level!!
My rubber bands just keep ripping like every 5-10 minutes. So far I've only tattooed on fake skin so it's not that big of a deal but when I start working on real skin that definitely shouldn't keep happening. Am I just using the wrong kind of rubber bands or am I doing something wrong otherwise?? I'm using a rotary machine and I'm putting the rubber bands in the same place you do (I've tried using multiple bands, just one band and also doubling them up) Do you have any idea what I could do?
This is what some rotary machines like to do. I had an issue with the hammer rotary busting rubber bands. If the needle doesn't bounce around a lot you don't need the rubber band. You can try going with a larger rubber band with less tension. Also can use the rubber bands for hair. I found those useful. The idea is just to keep enough tension on the needle to keep it in the back of the tip.
I just got mine and when I put my rubber bands on it, it will not run. The volts will be at 7.0 or 8.0 so idk what's going on :( My liner is good most times but the shader will move down once, but will not run either. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I would need to look at the machines to tell you what is wrong with them. Try to get someone who knows about machines to look at them. I also tune machines for people if it comes to that.
I can throw a couple things out there that might help. Try moving the contact screw up or down and listen to it. See if it runs and sounds better at a certain point. See if anything is hitting or rubbing against any other parts. Make sure your clip cord is connected correctly. These are just the first things I would check.
How do you like that power supply? i've got a knockoff metered power supply and an authentic Eikon and the duty cycle and followthrough readings on the knockoff are way off, looking to replace my backup and thinking about grabbing the same one you're using in this video
I run a voltmeter on the power supply to see where it was at. I've had power supply that was two volts higher then what it showed. Also had one that was lower. This way you know where your voltage is really at. The duty and speed have worked for me. I use the numbers to get close and then I listen to how the machine is running. Then make adjustments until it is working correctly. I keep a couple cheap power sources around. Just in case a power source breaks in the middle of a tattoo. I find the better power sources don't do that as much as the cheap ones. I was a boy scout when I was younger and was in the Army. I still have to always be prepared for anything so I keep extras around just in case.
I fix machines and put machines together. I don't build machines for the sole purpose of selling. The thought has crossed my mind and eventually I think I will.

You’re putting your needles wrong.
The needle bar should be on the bottom.
