The tattoo looked exactly like the picture if you don't mind me asking what did you start off doing for your practice pieces. I'm just curious I try all types of things I started with coil and rotary machines now I went to pen machines and have found the diffrence of the pen one to be a bit of a challenge but I think I have found the money of setting and depth gaining when doing it. The machines I use are cheap Amazon one like needle bee, posieden ect but I use full wireless pens for mine. I have a mix of 3.5mm and 4.2mm machines and found the 4.2mm works best for me. I'm planing on getting myself the ambition torped machines to upgrade my machines . Since thus is just a hobby of mine no reason to spend 1k on a machine let alone 500 just for a machine. I do tattoos on myself only or on fake skin. For my rotary machines I used hildabrands barrette and stealth for lining and shading. I have 11 types of coil machines one that was set up with a 16g connector to contact and armature bar and then my other was set to a 22g. I can show some of what I have done on myself if ypu would like. I know for myself that fine lines I have better control with my line work which is opposite than most people say it should be but with a 5 or 7 line you see more of my line work not being as crisp as I would like
In my opinion, it does not matter somuch what machin is, but what techniqoe and knowledge does the artist have. Some do very nice work with a home made machine. Great video, greeting from Slovenia.
When I first got into tattooing about 12 years ago I started with coil machines, rotaries were a thing but not to many on the market. After 4 yrs I gave it up because of life stuff but just picked it back up summer of '23. I bought new rotaries thinking that was the "standard" but then found out that Pen and even wireless machines were the new thing now. A bit frustrated having to buy the Pen style machine I purchased a similar bundle to your mine was from a brand called Wormhole. I praticed with it on fake skin and it did the job just fine, I then did a small tattoo on myself again no issues. Deciding to get back into tattooing fully I decided to purchase a 2nd machine same brand but their "pro model". Aside from size and thickness of the machine the only other major difference I noticed and liked was the LCD screen which let me fine tune the voltz. Lastly I purchased foam grips for the pen machines increasing thickness. Going forward I plan to buy a stencil printer as I hate drawing something then having to redraw it to make the stencil.
It also comes down to the stroke of the machine. I have found 3.5 is the base ground for stroke but I have also 2 that are 4.2 mm stroke and like using them
I just got one of those cheap ones, a Poseidon to start off, and experiment on fake skin and start a hobby. All your videos are super helpful and informative. You’re awesome
Yes you can and most machines over 200 dollars i feel are gimmicks. Tattoo machines all work very similar and in the 200 range you can find everything you need, adjustable stroke, 8 hour battery life, solid quality with 0 machine shake etc. Even though i haven't personally used the super expensive machines i believe they are scammy based on how people put out great work with cheap guns (look at prison tattoos by skilled artists)
People need to remember also this guy is a tattoo artist. If you’re going to buy a cheap tattoo machine, your tattoos aren’t going to come out like this first time, doesn’t meant the machine is crap
I got 4 machine kits all $40 and under for my daughter and I to try out. They're all wired machines with a foot pedal. So far they all work wonderfully! Next step will be to get some quality needles and inks. After filling a few fake skins front and back I'll give it a go on my leg. I don't think I'll ever spend big $$ on a machine. Having a few cheap ones means that if one dies on me I can just swap it out real quick and order a replacement.
I can’t wait for more of your videos!!! You are really the only one here wich is explaining everything so pro! Your videos are so helpful 🙏 and motivating!!! I’m a beginner 4 months now. I bought a tattoo machine Stigma from Amazon, it’s also not bad for training, I was surprised.
Thanks for this review. This works for practice at tattooing. I'm a long time visual artist & really hope the creative talent crosses over into tattooing. Your line work & shading is Perfection.
I have this machine! Works great for fake skin! Mixed results on real skin but more likely due to less than ideal needles. Seems like it’s starting to break down on me now tho, made it thru probably 20 on fake skin and 5 or so on real skin. Think it’s time to invest in a better machine but worked great to get me started! Would love some recommendations for higher quality machines, needles and ink that work on real skin and don’t break the bank!
I use a wormhole tattoo gun that I got for 60 bucks on Amazon. It has worked with zero issues whatsoever, 4mm stroke and I’ve done easily over 100 tattoos with it. I think people should stop worrying so much about the machine. They all do the same thing anyway. ALL THEY GOTTA DO IS STAB A NEEDLE IN YOU. It’s not that hard. What DOES make a massive difference imo is ink and needles. Those are everything.
its funny you mentioned how important it is to have good equipment, yet the Japanese and Thai people tattoo with regular bone needles and ink, and it still comes out beautiful. seems to me like the tattoo industry just wants to make as much money as it can lol.
I'm using a coil machine with standard tips right now but I'm switching the grips to except cartridges, I would love to get the stigma coil machine but my wife say they are to much so I convinced her to let me build 2 machines, Yorktattoo frames and coilman coils
I was just about to buy a kit off amazon and then I stumbled on this video. I was actually thinking I could use the ink and needs from the kit to tattoo myself but this coming from a professional...I'd rather not. 🙏
I always think some prison tattoos look pretty amazing and use guitar strings and makeshift ink and if they can do that i should be able yo use this right ?
Thank you! ... this review is very helpful. I bought an Amazon cheapo pen with 2 barrel batteries for around $150 to practice on synthetic skin. Also ordered slightly better than included needles and ink (BigWASP needles, Millennium Moms ink). Definitely not ready to drop $1k+ on machines, but was curious of the overall similarities on usability.
I got my self a dragonhawk atom kit for a little over 100 CAD. After a pretty relaxed and uneven 3 year work time it still does the job well. Its a wired one with a pedal. I have no clue about any of the specifics, but it jsit works, beautifully so. I cant really tell if its me messing it up or the supplys. I use dynamic ink, and fancier needles but i still mess up tattoos. Mostly on my dad- a color bleed here and there and i am generally bad at color packing. However, my gf, mom, dad and couple of friends have at least one or two tattoos of mine.
starting around 6:27 , when you begin to add the red, do you stop when you come up against the black line or does the skin that already had black ink get poked again with red? will black and red ink mix inside the skin to make a darker red along the edge of the black line? These are incredibly helpful, thank you!
When you think about it, a tattoo gun is a very, very simple piece of kit. Someone somewhere is making insane profit in production considering what it is.
You may be able to do it on fake skin but you should never use the ink that they send you because you will get an infection with that ink, I don't know what's wrong with the ink but every time I used it I got an infection in my tattoo, when I bought a different ink the infection wasn't there, so never use that ink they send you on real skin.
Iv have a friend with actual prison tattoo's that look as good as one done with a £250 machine, its all about the man behind the needle and what he can do with it
I’m not a tattoo artist just like watching stuff, I wonder if like food and medication things like this are made by a larger well known company with cheaper products or with items that don’t pass their standard quality text.
I know nothing about tattoo machines, but isn't this style of machine basically just a motor? I genuienly can't understand how some cost hundereds if not a thousand +
Apologies for the misunderstanding in the video. I didn't sterilize the machine, but rather covered it to ensure hygiene during the procedure ✌

I agree, you might be getting slightly better quality but your mostly paying for the name.
its not a gun its a machine
@@oizys_5966machine gun?
It's a MachineGun..
@@oizys_5966 yeah yeah you get my idea, i fixed it for you

That's not up to the machine though, friend. Sharp needle, smooth running motor, good ink. That's the only thing that matters.

I really didn’t start for a long time because of the high costs. But this motivates me to try :)
Thanks for this review. This works for practice at tattooing. I'm a long time visual artist & really hope the creative talent crosses over into tattooing. Your line work & shading is Perfection.
I’m totally new to learning the art and am starting with the EZ P2s kit so I’ll see how it goes.

Correct
i was practicing this exact design yesterday, it’s nice to see how a pro does it

wish i would have found this vid sooner years ago! 🙌good tips. Thanks!
What about coil machines? Great video!

Just curious, Have you used coil machines in the past? great Video, Thank!
Would you recommend this on a live person?
Are all needle cartridges universal and will fit this machine or will only this brands cartridges fit?
Yup

ur tutorials are incredibly good. thankss
Looks great! Excited for the undershading video
I wonder if this tattoo machine can be used for learning or do I have to buy a better one?
When you think about it, a tattoo gun is a very, very simple piece of kit. Someone somewhere is making insane profit in production considering what it is.
I mean yeah just look at how Samoans do their tattoos given the traditional style and tools it still leads to very nice and clean looking tattoos
Lets talk about sharpened staples, pencil lead, and bob barker shampoo...if you want to get down to the real nitty gritty..good video though
Doesn't matter what kind of gun Its what you know,
You may be able to do it on fake skin but you should never use the ink that they send you because you will get an infection with that ink, I don't know what's wrong with the ink but every time I used it I got an infection in my tattoo, when I bought a different ink the infection wasn't there, so never use that ink they send you on real skin.
A lot of those cheap tattoo kits it isn't actual tattoo ink and isn't meant to be used on real skin.
So you can recommend it for beginners to try and learn tattooing on fake skin?
Brother you’re just a really good artist lol i can give you pen ink and a thumb tac youd probably be able to make a really clean tattoo
Iv have a friend with actual prison tattoo's that look as good as one done with a £250 machine, its all about the man behind the needle and what he can do with it
What cartridges on needles should I start with like the number?
Poderia testar essa máquina com agulhas e tintas melhores e ver se a aplicação e resultado dão muita diferença. Ótimo vídeo!
Soft edge magnum... Is that a curved mag?
Yes :)
Link of the product?
HOW do you know what needles to order if you should get higher quality?
What are your thoughts on Mast Archer, Mast Fold, Mast Flip?
I’m not a tattoo artist just like watching stuff, I wonder if like food and medication things like this are made by a larger well known company with cheaper products or with items that don’t pass their standard quality text.
Do you do lining shading and packing all at 8 volts?
Temu or shein for a full tattoo kit with everything you need
So for a 13 year old girl to learn how to tattoo on these fake skin patches. This would be okay for her?
I would be worried about the color or the ink in general
Geiles Video. Grüße aus dem 14bez!! 😂
theres full tatto kits of coil machines for 15euros.
Thanks for testing it 😊
Does anyone know of a good machine between $100-200?
Seems like this kit is meant to be used for training purposes only
I bought a $40 warmhole tattoo kit and it sucks tbh.. I bought it to practice tattooing but I don't think it comes out how it's supposed to
i have one its okay , u fasho can make money with it
Ty for this! Sub'd 💪🤠
nice Video !!
I know nothing about tattoo machines, but isn't this style of machine basically just a motor? I genuienly can't understand how some cost hundereds if not a thousand +
If FTC CB if TV!
Excelente saludos a todos
I’m tryin the ambition soldier it’s deco kinda wanna get a second machine
I got a emalla i paid like 300 its not even wireless lmao
Bro read the ink it says not for human use most of those tattoo machine the ink says not for human use
I can see using the machine but a big HELL no with that ink...who knows whats in that ink for that price lol
You have officially given teenagers hope to use cheap and still produce horrible tattoos on their friends. lol
What would the world be without bad tattoos? :(
Bro said he wouldn’t use the needles on human skin so ur saying u need a whole different tattoo gun for humans ?😂😂 like huh ?
He is saying he wouldn't use those needles (or inks) the machine is fine
U sound dumb
You're suppose to use 2 fingers to spread the skin so it takes better. Which you didn't do at any point.
this is not real skin, fake skin does not need to be stretched, real skin needs to be stretched
