I am not impressed with this episode. Please vet your interviewees a bit better... it's OK to let people speak their minds but you're legitimizing these nonsense claims.
Yeah when he said that, I was like that seems a little hard to believe, especially since he only has a few locations, and home depot and lowes are like all over the US and do a MASSIVE amount of movement.
My best guess if he wasnt lying was he meant million and that could be lower than usual because of covid (don't know if house building and/or flooring went down or up)
The lies told here are insane. 1. He buys most of his flooring from Europe and than says all of his flooring is made in USA...he says this the same sentence. None of this is true. 2. He says he has better buying power than Home Depot & Lowes and sells more than both of them combined...Home Depot sells approximately $9 billion in 2021 and Lowes sold approximately $6 billion in 2021. This guy claims to have sold 18 million per year in this video. Unless my math is not right he's sold .1 percent of of what Home Depot and Lowes sell in a year. 3. His buying power claim is nonsense. Flooring distributers sell 100,000s of skids a year per country to many stores. His claim of 4000 cases or containers is nothing in the grand scheme. 4. He actually has to be getting his product from China and claiming its USA or European. To sell AND install vinyl for $2 and claim he's making 100 percent markup is nothing but lies as here is the math. The average cost to install vinyl is more then $1 per square foot nation wide. Typically its closer to $1.20-$1.40 per square foot. The cost of any half decent 5mm vinyl with attached pad is $1.25-$1.5 and that is coming from very good buying power. Say he can get it directly from the manufacture for $.50 he still has to ship it to USA, pay for transport from shipping yard, pay employee to offload into warehouse, pay for employee to inventory it, pay for employee to load and ship product and pay employee to load into home. All lies. 5. There's clearly something not right here - guys like this are typically running a Ponzi like business or are up to their eyeballs in debt living interest payment to interest payment. 6. The celebrity "endorsements" are actually him paying to give them flooring and him paying them to install it in what we would call paid endorsement 7. He has bought and paid for his Instagram followers, likes and comments - his whole profile is fake and he claims that's how he gets his business. You've actually done a great job at exposing this guy. Where he got/gets his money from...it definitely isn't from flooring as he's giving away his product for free. I welcome Antonio to reply and refute any of my points.
This guys used this whole interview as an infomercial for his business. I been living in Miami 30 yrs and have done floors for 6 properties and have never heard of him. All he wanted to do was boast about beating HD & LWS.. GTFO... He's a cockroach to HD & LWS.. Typical Miami Bullshitter... Good interview
'I put 100,000 which is the money I saved from selling purfumes' makes me question whether he sold his first company for 3.5m or it was cap like the rest of his videos
Just got out of the flooring industry… this dude is telling the same lies that everyone in the industry tells. No one gets crazy discounts compared to other flooring companies because the manufacturers want everyone to be able to compete in the market. If you buy in bulk, you might get 20-30 cents off per square foot on hard surface products. The “50% discount” because of buying power is the same crap everyone says. And 45%-50% gross margins are absolutely the norm in flooring. There’s nothing wrong with being honest and saying “hey my price isn’t always the highest or lowest, but you get me and you get my installers… we’ll bring the best value to you and we’ll be here for you down the road if you need us.” That assumes you have great reviews and really do have superior service. Despite popular belief, some of the best material really is made in China and Vietnam. We had a top tier manufacturer change their manufacturing from China to the U.S. and the product quality immediately dropped. If it works, don’t try to fix it.
I just pulled up to the flooring job I’m doing today and the client came out and asked me to wait like 10 minutes, so I hoped back in the car and got on RUclips and this was the recommended video. Hell yeah.
HD sold $9B in flooring in 2021, 6.2% of their sales. Lowes generally does about 25% less than HD in each department. Each HD store does around $50M total revenue, so around $3 Million in flooring per store (maybe thats what he was talking about?). This guy is super successful, not sure why he feel's the need to lie about something like that lol.

This is a great salesman but no way he is beating HD , Lowes, Costco, Etc. I do love his products, I have used them before for my rental homes. Quick note, I am in the commercial RE business and that warehouse roof was terrible. I have seen companies like Mohawk Flooring sell bankrupt buildings in the middle of no where with better roofs than that..... haha
The fact that he even claimed to be the largest in his industry is ridiculous. Not only is the building in bad condition it is approximately a 30,000 sq ft warehouse which is tiny for a business that sells as much product as he claims. If he was as big as he says he is, that warehouse wouldn't even be enough to park his trucks and trailers.

It’s hard to find good subs and laws stop you from being able to “manage” them properly. This is a huge headache in many trades

Im a flooring installer, 32 years at it. We installers keep the doors of every flooring shop open that installs flooring. Unless they just do retail. @@UpFlip The difference from 32 years ago to today is it's different as far as flooring material. Newer flooring coming out that is easier to work with. The carpet is better. So he had another business he built on first, and despite burning up that money, still had some savings with which he bought an inventory of flooring to get started (his words). More detail about how he actually went from $50 to success would be nice. Also, can this guy answer any question AFTER the question is asked? He seems so eager to talk -- and talk over -- that it makes me feel strange.
That's probably a condensed version of his life. He's not going to give every detail of every turning point, or a detailed account of how he went from point A to point B. Not practical. I'd take hours. That said, I have to give it to him: he is a hustler. That shows in the way he talks. You need a bit of that in business or you won't make it. As long as he's keeping afloat, he's alright for me. Gave great general biz tips. Appreciated.
@@jkgv1740 you know the word "hustler" can have a negative connotation, as well. Still, my point is that the video makes it look like he went from nothing to building this particular business ground-up but that's untrue. He apparently built this one AFTER the first business success and using funds he still had saved from that business. Skipping over that part of his life is NECESSARY and important information, and I know it's very possible to explain that within an acceptable time frame instead of spending so much time chatting about what his current business offers rather than HOW he got there. I never said anything about giving a "detailed, A to B," hours-long explaination of how he did it. That's nonsense. I know that you are well capable of getting the meat of the info from people like him and presenting that valuable insight to us viewers, rather than just letting him talk over you nonstop about what his business does. People are interested in how he got there and this video purports to do that --but doesn't. Ironically, it literally skips over the very thing we viewed for. Everyone has heard already about the "hustler" culture, or the motivational money guru style "YOU GOTTA HUSTLE IF YOU WANNA WIN" motto, but that's silly and useless without correct methods and right actions. What were his real actions? What steps did he take to build the supposed jewelry business? Don't tell me it's "he hustled" because that's a non answer.
Why dont you manufacture flooring materials or finished products anywhere in the world which you can go for low cost on variables If you have buying power of all suppliers all over the world I think that is good to manufacture those varieties with innovative products Just an idea😊
Like the video but for me, the come up entrepreneurs and their stories are a lot more relatable. You get a whole lot more education. This was also nice content.
From my experience China is one of the major exporters of flooring products to the USA, Europe ,Africa, …. as it has a large and competitive flooring industry that can provide a variety of laminate, vinyl, hardwood, and other types of flooring products at relatively low prices. Good business 🤝
Agreed! … and even subcontractors. There’s a ton of people that could benefit from learning how to be a sub, successfully. … and local companies focusing on individual trades, early-on in the process. (Cracking their first million, etc) More contractors in general, UpFlip! 😅
There is no way he comes close to the volume he claims he does. The fact that he stated that he sells more flooring than home depot and lowes combined is a outright lie.

Love your videos. But this ONE here after reading the 2.5 Star review on Yelp on this company. I would be a little more careful when presenting a Successful Owner and his Company. I have worked in the floor covering industry for eight years strong now, I'm disheartened to see a spotlight being given to someone who sources a significant amount of seconds or defective goods - not "dusty old floors that have been sitting around in distributors' warehouses for too long", but products that don't meet the industry's strict quality standards. Such products are unlikely to fetch 100% margins and may only command 60-70% at best. Moreover, this person definitely sources floors from China. A quick glance at their Google reviews reveals that they are all paid reviews, with even the negative ones being responded to by the owner in a way that suggests dishonesty. It's unfortunate that unsuspecting customers looking for quality floors may end up buying substandard products. The only way to get a 100% profit margin is to buy actual crap that no one should put in their homes. It's worth noting that big box stores have greater buying power, so how is it they don't have similar margins?

Just in case you guys dont know, Sherwin Williams, Flooring American and Carpet One are the big timers as far as selling. But this dude here saying that LVP is water proof? IT ABSOLUTELY IS NOT! The water proof test that is done is ONE piece of LVP in water submerged halfway. Now you or anyone do this test maybe in a pool or something.. click it together like as if it was installed in a customer's dwelling. Youll see what happens!! Its going to be very interesting in the future to see how this "water proof" flooring ends up. Time will tell
@@UpFlip Well, I have now tore out (5) of these water proof floors now.. all the joints buckled and warped just like real wood does. So that there alone is proof to me. Some were the cork backing and some had the rubber backing. So it's not just one particular backing that damages from water or moisture.

I doesn't make sense at all. @7:59 he says they have 350 stores nation wide. How is he only making $18m/year with 350 stores? Floor & Decor Holdings makes $3.5 billion with 180 stores in the US.

He saved 100K from the perfume biz which he says he sold for 3.5M. The host did semi clickbait with the $400 to 15M
He is a BS'er.
The heading on this video is clickbait. He explained his story in the video.
Why dont you manufacture flooring materials or finished products anywhere in the world which you can go for low cost on variables
If you have buying power of all suppliers all over the world
I think that is good to manufacture those varieties with innovative products
Just an idea😊
The reality really kicks in on what should be the start up capital for flooring industry
The flooring industry is huge, so you'll need a big amount to be able to join. Which industry are you in? ☺️
1st! Love this channel, most underrated content on RUclips
Glad you enjoy it! What type of businesses would you like to see next?
Like the video but for me, the come up entrepreneurs and their stories are a lot more relatable. You get a whole lot more education. This was also nice content.
From my experience China is one of the major exporters of flooring products to the USA, Europe ,Africa, …. as it has a large and competitive flooring industry that can provide a variety of laminate, vinyl, hardwood, and other types of flooring products at relatively low prices.
Good business 🤝
It’s not china tho definitely porc tiles which is Italy
would love to see a video of general contractors in different types of construction
Me too!!
Facts
Me too
Agreed!
… and even subcontractors. There’s a ton of people that could benefit from learning how to be a sub, successfully.
… and local companies focusing on individual trades, early-on in the process. (Cracking their first million, etc)
More contractors in general, UpFlip! 😅
Thanks for the suggestion, Jack! We'll look into this.
I am a man and i tell you this I love successful men and I wish them all best and hope I'll get there
Nothing he says rly adds up 😁
why
There is no way he comes close to the volume he claims he does. The fact that he stated that he sells more flooring than home depot and lowes combined is a outright lie.
I am so disappointed with what you said. I totally disagree with you. Everything Flooring King said is so true!! While everything you says is so wrong. The one who doesn't really add up is you because you didn't even bother to open your ears to listen to him!
HD has a army, this guy running solo!! He is the Flooring King!
Indeed! Thanks for watching, Plant Plants! ☺️
As a Chinese person I really appreciate how honest he was about the fact that the material that comes from China just isn't good. I really do wish my country stopped selling so much fake product. I feel like it's a very dishonest way of earning money.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Thank you for watching and engaging with the content! ☺️
definitely the best one in my opinion, this one is a real one

Flooring bought from Alibaba not from Europe or the USA.

Largest flooring business in the world.. does only $1.5M a month? NAH
Do you have 1.5 million in your pocket? Why are you being a sjw on RUclips then like the rest of us lpl lol
He'd be up there for largest BS.
They don't
It's a volume play. All those nickels and dimes add up big time.
Close to 12 million per month in sales
If it's mainly made in the USA, why would he need a container load.
They would just put it on a truck.
BEST BUSINESS SHOW
Thank you for the compliment, Kids Palace Bahrain! Is there any business topic you'd like to see next on the channel? Let us know! :)
Damn, that guy you can tell hes self made. All the knowledge on pros and cons, not blowing sunshine up your ass. Hes someone to learn from, Hands down
Thanks for the kind words! What business would you like us to feature next?
Love your videos. But this ONE here after reading the 2.5 Star review on Yelp on this company. I would be a little more careful when presenting a Successful Owner and his Company. Just because they are making $$ doesn't mean they are a great company. Sadly to say if the Antonio really cares he would dispute the negative comments and make it right. But these are just my thoughts. But I will still listen to your other downloads, but this VIDEO here is OUT THE WINDOW!
Thank you so much for sharing us your thoughts regarding this video, Ed Yeager! This helps us improve and continue producing factual and valuable content. Still, we thank you for watching and hope you continue supporting our channel!
The numbers are 1,5M from one warehouse per month on just vinyl flooring. He did not mention all other wearhouses and type of floors.
Best entrepreneur youtube channel !
Wow, thank you for this comment, Luigy Randazzo! You make our hearts full. Your support gives us the motivation to continue what we're doing. Any business you want to see next?
Great tips, even for business and retail in general. Thanks!
I have the energy and im hard working... just cant find or think of some niche where to start a business...
Hi Mikijs! Have you checked out the other videos on our channel? There's a lot of different industries that might be of interest to you.
Anything... Pick one and go for it
I have worked in the floor covering industry for eight years strong now, I'm disheartened to see a spotlight being given to someone who sources a significant amount of seconds or defective goods - not "dusty old floors that have been sitting around in distributors' warehouses for too long", but products that don't meet the industry's strict quality standards.
Thank you for sharing your piece on the industry, Rubber duck! It's very important to hear all sides of the story to help people planning to join the flooring industry. We thank you for watching and hope you continue to support our channel. ☺️
Good work Antonio
Now (even for this channel lol) THAT is a thumbnail. Bold, shocking number, from.....nice flooring lol
@19jody72 That's really good info! True, it's hard to find things that are legitimately 100% waterproof. Maybe water resistant would be a better term?
@@UpFlip Well, I have now tore out (5) of these water proof floors now.. all the joints buckled and warped just like real wood does. So that there alone is proof to me. Some were the cork backing and some had the rubber backing. So it's not just one particular backing that damages from water or moisture.
This guy is Amazing because he give his own experience so fluently without being impedes by our judgmental brains... wow love how he is transparent about his failure at the start and most of all about his revenue! Thanks a lot :)
Everything he said is either made up and BS...he wasn't transparent at all.
great questions!!!
Get the fux outta here....this guy!!! Who I been trying to be!!! This the stories we wanna see!!! Real people gettin it done, and going for more!!! No limit to this guy! Love this and thanks for even better inspiration from true people!!

Antonio is awesome! What a story! Good for him!
One thing he said is very true is you need money to start a business. Anyone that said you don't need no money or little money to start a business is a lie
I cant get it at the beginning
1) he had parfume business for many many years
2) he sold it for 3.5 mil
3) Now hes a billionaire
Wtf
Hope you watched the video until the end, WhyXelsing! He ventured to the flooring business, which is where he got most of his money today. :)
@@UpFlip oki, thx
Love this interview, love this channel. Thank you for sharing.

@@UpFlip Would love another candle business industry interview. Thanks

Damn son ..... More than home Depot? That's something to brag about!
We couldn't agree more, Miklo Morales! What are the other points from this interview that struck you the most? Are you also in the flooring industry?
Too bad its a lie
Best part of the video is the ad 😂😂
which countries he is importing
So does that mean that despite having so many warehouses around the world, including the US, he only makes 1.5 million per month or just from one warehouse?
I doesn't make sense at all. @7:59 he says they have 350 stores nation wide. How is he only making $18m/year with 350 stores? Floor & Decor Holdings makes $3.5 billion with 180 stores in the US.
@@Wired1200 350 stores is the plan he has for nationwide. Current number of stores ~9.
The guy is delusional he claims he sells more flooring material than home depot and lowes combined. Home Depot alone makes $9.2B from flooring sales a year.
@@Chopper8472how does HD categorize flooring? Does it include carpeting and area rugs or strictly hardwood vinyl etc?
@@Editnamehere They sell different types of flooring like vinyl, laminate, tile, hardwood and carpet. I'm not sure about their sales breakdown but I'm guessing the regions that experience a colder climate get more carpet sales compared to the southern parts.
Do you have carpet?
I'm confused when he said he may 100% profit? That is impossible. The cost of the floor , rent , labor and etc
18 million/ 4000 containers= $4500 container. There is no way you can buy a full container of flooring for $4500.
Thank you for sharing your piece, Arman!
