  • Wise Coatings brought in more than $100,000 in revenue within the first four months after it opened in 2021. How did this epoxy garage floor business grow so quickly? Founder Brandon Vaughn shares the answer in this interview!
    Brandon has built something extraordinary at Wise Coating, and you could become his partner! He is offering UpFlip viewers an exclusive discount on the start-up fees! Learn more about this great opportunity by visiting this link: bit.ly/WiseUpflip
    Brandon had some experience with growing a business before he started Wise Coatings. He grew his previous service business to 70 employees in six seasons, an experience that taught him the importance of systems, hiring, and marketing. He put that expertise to use when he started his new epoxy flooring business, quickly scaling it to nearly $500,000 a month in revenue with profit margins up to 25%, a very impressive return on his $45,000 start-up investment.
    It may be hard to believe from those numbers, but Brandon actually started Wise Coatings as an experiment. He wanted to show that it was possible to grow a business without spending any time in the field or answering sales calls. Instead, he focused on building scalable systems and perfecting his marketing. His experiment has proven to be a resounding success, though not without its bumps along the way.
    He’ll share the biggest challenges he faced growing Wise Coatings, along with how he overcame those difficulties in this interview. You’ll hear what worked well too, of course, including the must-have systems for an epoxy business and how he built the phenomenal team that’s let him focus on growing the business rather than spending all his time at job sites.
    This video isn’t just for folks who want to start an epoxy floor business. Anyone who wants to start or scale a service business will learn a lot from how Brandon developed his systems and brings in customers.

    It's worth adding he owns an expensive coaching company that can fund any short comings. I'm sure no one was missing a meal during the super hard "start up time"... not taking anything away but when you have the network and connections he does and the sales pitch matched with the cash flow to go heavy, anything is possible. This isn't a start at the bottom success story.

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto Год назад +21

      And he woke up one day and magically had said successful coaching company? Or maybe he was born with said company like an appendage?
      Stop being so small minded and taking away accomplishments. He was successful in that endeavor, and that experience carried over into his new venture 🙄

    • @fabtimenow2318
      @fabtimenow2318 Год назад +16

      @LSA chronicles He makes more from coaching/mastermind stuff than the business was the lesson here. If you haven't attended some of his events then you wouldn't know. Nothing wrong with the hustle, just wanting to point out his did not start the coating business bootstrapping and grinding it out. He bank rolled the concept from 0-100 overnight with his major network of other deep pocketed business owners and connections made where?? Through the conquer group. Again, not saying he isn't successful, just saying he wasn't in the trenches eating Ramen while starting wise coatings. It launched as a successful, funded venture.
      Success is easy when you have thousands paying you $800-1000+ per month to be in your mastermind groups. It's hard to fail when you have the cash flow and network of people to implement an idea full-bore from the jump. You drastically diminish any struggle season getting the money flowing. It's no different opening additional locations of a successful franchise vs. Grinding it out for a lifetime with a small mom and pop shop. If you got the coin to get yourself a coating business, get after it. Your videos about your journey would be great to see from someone starting actually from scratch.

      So what’s the takeaway here, skill compounds & leverage is gained by having a crack & doing the work to build these businesses. Even if it is true that he had cash backups, nobody can gift you the skillsets that it takes to run & automate a successful business, he obviously has all of the skillsets so i think it makes no difference if you focus on that

      I appreciate his vision. From experience you can have access to alot of finance but lack the vision or know-how. His vision grew in his apprenticeship, yes it was his dad but anyone can go out and learn. The man is a success story and he has inspired me who lives in NIGERIA. His vision and application for marketing/branding wasn't inherited. I wish to build something like Brandon or better. I come in peace in the name of Christ Jesus 🙏❤️

    Guys, let me tell you. I just learned more about business than in the last 100h of business, coaches, mentors or any other video that I have watched. I'm in a completely different business, machine manufacturing, but that was so good to see. It was direct, no hiding, no drama, and done. I'm almost buying a wise coatings franchise to improve my actual business process and governance. Congratulations for you both, Uplift and Wise Coatings.

    Have only watched 2 videos from UpFlip. The other video was Laundry Genuis. Lessons so far which both of them uses are:
    1) Systems, tracking and creating systems
    2) Outsourcing, they outsource payment systems etc so they can focus on what matters most
    3) Partnering with Distributors, both of them work with their distributors very closely. ie financing washing machines or renting out machines
    4) Hands off, as owners of a franchise, you need to go hands off and leave it to a trusted manager so that you can focus on expanding the business

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto Год назад +4

      You think this guy was hands off? He seemed pretty involved in the process. Even paid $2000.00 on a course to learn how to apply the product to the floor.
      In a service based industry, you got to be hands on, otherwise your business is not going to excel. Once you built up a good enough working model, and can begin to expand, that's when you can remove yourself from the frontline operations.
      But until then, you got to get dirty with everyone.

    • @LynxStarAuto
      @LynxStarAuto Год назад +1

      @@ransomharrist5119if you are running a business correctly, you won't have much time to worry about the competition. 🤷‍♂️ there is always going to be competition. You can't epoxy every garage floor in the world. You build a service and product, and you market to the customer that wants to pay for said service and product. Leave the rest for the others to worry about.
      It's like he said about appearance and professionalism. If you show up in beat up van, writing estimates on a napkin, you are only going to collect what image you portray. He gave a ton of insight into the smallish details he uses to draw in high dollar RO's and how he follows them up once the repair is done.

As a business owner I learned a lot about marketing in my first year taking the long hard road. I went nearly broke trying to save money on marketing. Once I said ok it’s do or die for this business poured basically the rest of the business’s money into marketing out workload absolutely went thru the roof. Very interesting to hear how hard these guys favor facebook for marketing. We run very heavy on google ads. I may have to open up a new marketing ad on Facebook now and see what type of feedback I get out of that.
    Once again really awesome video, thank you for putting this out there. First video of yours I’ve seen. Don’t worry I hit the like and subscribe lol. Keep putting this information out there. There are a lot of small business owners that could learn a ton from this video alone.

    this literally shows that money isn't the only thing to get things going, yet a vision truly plays a huge role. Franchise is absolutely helpful as it builds wealth more effectively long term. Sadly, few people are into it due to lack of knowledge and poor mindset. Also, when it comes to business foundation, a system is the very first thing one needs to consider wisely. When it's already there, everything else will just flow smoothly. Am I right here?

    Quebec. Thanks

  • @lafrancois6323
    @lafrancois6323 8 месяцев назад

    In my experience of doing epoxy, I always let the concrete breathe, repair/seal cracks and always! Always! Do moisture test. There is no way, that concrete is ready for epoxy on a rainy day like that, humidity is too high. It can lead to epoxy foaming or an exothermic reaction. Way to go on grinding the right profile. Hopefully, it holds up.
    Just want to make it clear for the guys thinking of starting in this business. Typically, it's never 1 day unless it has 0 cracks or holes and is dry.
