There is something a lot of people don't realize and that is how much strength and stamina it takes to play the drums but the way she played you would never know GREAT JOB
You cannot get more wholesome than this. You just can't. A young girls dream come to life, giving a future musician their shot and a father knowing he didn't fail. The tears are real and idgaf!
I love how she winds up in the beginning like she is about to bring the thunder. Then brings the thunder. Taylor watches like he is both astonished and his job is being taken away slowly
Making me tear up. Found her randomly before there was much attention on her, just thought she was kickass… to see her keep getting noticed by legends and now this. Nandi is a legend in the making for sure. Always beaming with astonishing energy. Love it.
Can you imagine being a talented musician, then getting the opportunity to play a song with Nandi in front of thousands of her fans?? I'm sure the Foo Fighters will never forget this experience!
I've watched this at least 15 times since that night. Nandi was, on this night, officially introduced to the rock 'n' roll world. And what did she do? She did what she does -- she played the song completely locked-in with the band without a single error or glitch (even Taylor was there watching from his drumkit, overseeing this amazing performance like a galactic warlord - a happy one) and carried the weight of this song like freight train. Even sections of the song that required a quick improvisational adjustment were handled by Nandi and the Foo Fighters without flinching. It was another night in rock 'n' roll without fail. Once you kick THAT much a$$ on stage at a venue like the L.A. Forum, people know you mean business. That happened for the Foos many years ago, and on this night, to Nandi. Like a musician so serious she pours rudiments on her breakfast cereal instead of milk. This video will forever be Nandi's calling card: Her entry in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame was secured on this night as well. Keep on rockin'!!
I was there at that concert, and I gotta say, I’ve never seen such a confident drummer. You rocked the heck outta that show! 🤘🏻🤘🏻 you looked like you’ve been playing drums for 40 years. Rock on!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I don't know why this made me cry happy tears, but watching her play Everlong with Dave and absolutely killing it in front of that crowd it was like watching someone be who they were always meant to be and just fit in that world. This was amazing, and it's only a tiny fraction of what's to come. I feel like I just watched an artist come alive in the space they were always destined to inhabit.
Wow. Imagine being 12 years old and playing a packed stadium like this with one of your favorite artists and the entire Foo Fighters band ! Epic ! I'm so happy for you Nandi !
It's amazing! And on the flip side the Foos never in a million years would have imagined they'd be led by such a talented young drummer and so flawlessly.
The way your father screamed whan you playing, I really hope every parent can feel this proud even if its for a one breef moment. You are amazing and you have amazing dad.
I can only begin to imagine the kind of adrenaline rush that would come with playing in front of a crowd like that...and it speaks volumes that Nandi was rock-solid in doing it...not only that she didn't miss a beat or hesitate anywhere along the line, but also that she didn't let her adrenaline take over and rush the beat. This was definitely a great way to start the day off!
I'm crying like a baby out of joy! This cute amazing little drummer girl is now my favorite person on the planet! To all my female drummers out in the world, can I get an AMEN!!....Little lady[YOU ROCK]✌
She reminds me of that granny that went into to play drums and the thought she was in the church choir and she starts banging out SOAD! And the other granny that started to dj when she was in her 60s.. its never to late of early
I commented earlier, but I also have to say how heartwarming it is that your parents support your dreams. I can HEAR the happiness and pride in your Dad's voice as he screams himself hoarse backstage. Supportive parents make ALLLLLLLL the difference!!
I've watched this so many times. So happy for Nandi and absolutely love her Dad. He's so happy, so proud - as he should be. Probably one of the best days ever, for anyone...ever.
I'm actually really impressed with how well composed she managed to keep herself on stage before a lot of people. Having performed on stage before, I know how hard it is to control your nervousness, and still put on a solid performance. If she was nervous she certainly didn't show it. She put on a great performance.
Her hi-hat/snare timing is impeccable. It is so hard to maintain that type of constant rhythm in the verses without tripping yourself up. I love that she enjoys playing so much…her enthusiasm is infectious!
I am genuinely glad that so many other people said they teared up watching this!! This amazingly talented kid got to play the closing song, arguably the BEST song, by her favorite band, at a massive gig in LA. Basically every musicians dream. And she deserved everything second of it. Bravo Nandi.
Not just that, music is huge for the economy. After North Sea oil, Britain's second biggest export was music. But music should never be part of the mandatory school curriculum. Then again, neither should English literature, or foreign languages. These are all things you'll either learn on your own time, or not at all.
@@ashscott6068 i disagree, or else how would children from unprivileged backgrounds or parents who aren't present for their children; discover what passions they may have to thrive in? Arts should be as important as algebra in the cases which students choose to do so.
Swedens biggest export is music. Some of the biggest bands and artists in the world have sometimes had a Swedish producer or a Swedish songwriter. Imagine a world without music, must be really boring.
Nandi, as a dad myself, I am so proud of you! You are just awesome! Congrats to you and your parents as well, I am sure they are overwhelmed with so much joy to see you...keep your feet on the ground and I am sure you will do amazing things. Greetings from Orlando FL!

The crowd was amazing. To get in we had to show our vaccine cards, a negative covid test and couldn't take anything in but our mask, phone and wallet. No bags or purses. LOL, Taylor trying to show her how to throw the sticks and she’s like “no thanks, I want to keep one for myself”. Can’t blame her, after that performance, I’d want a keepsake too.
Exactly! Like I did when Kevin Parker used my drum kit in a jam with an old mate of his at my workplace and snapped my sticks, I kept them...My kit was all out of place too, the kick drum had moved way out of place - such a mess! Beers everywhere! But hose stix are a memento. I also used those sticks to record all my oldest demos that are unreleased...(absolute crap.) But it is part of _some_ history, I am just happy as hell she did this and kept one stick!! To Taylor throwing sticks from a gig is like eating breakfast, nothing special, THIS for her or ANYone is special! No way you'd give away both sticks....
@@catrin17m64 As a Drummer myself I’m so sorry, you got hit. It’s always a remaining risk to it to throw sticks into the crowd and despite being responsible and trying (unlike Taylor) to do it as gently as possible, it sometimes is difficult to reach the audience and it can happen tho (I never hit someone yet, luckily) but then most of the time people are only stunned and fine after some mins. How long is it ago that you were hit?

The way Pat looks over at Nandi’s Dad at 7:42 is perfect. He’s like “yeah buddy go ahead and celebrate, your daughter just killed it.”
Cool! I missed that the first time. There is an earlier moment at 2:21 - 2:23 something, where he looks at the dad and winks at him. He knows how the dad must feel too...

We most certainly do not deserve Dave Grohl. I imagine that he remembers vividly being that kid at the rock concert dreaming of being on that stage.
Howdy RB😃!This extraordinary little lady ROCKS!!!
Oh I did!

Tear up by the end? I was tearing up at the start.
Damn. She’s an absolute beast. And Dave is a gift to us.
Every time I’d see Dave play with Nirvana, my comment was always “he’s a beast”. Nandi is definitely cut from the same mold.
Making me tear up. Found her randomly before there was much attention on her, just thought she was kickass… to see her keep getting noticed by legends and now this. Nandi is a legend in the making for sure. Always beaming with astonishing energy. Love it.

I'm sure the Foo Fighters will never forget this experience!
So true lol 😂
The smiles on their faces say it all.
😂 YES! ABSOLUTELY! ❤️
Awesome!
Good one!
Knowing it's the dad filming and screaming.....just makes my heart burst. What a great moment. ❤
Assumed that Dave Grohl (singer/front Foo Fighter) was Nandi's Dad
I cry almost every time I see this baby play....🥰👸🏽🫶🏽❤️💫💫💫
Because this just hits you right in the core of your heart.
Wow. Imagine being 12 years old and playing a packed stadium like this with one of your favorite artists and the entire Foo Fighters band ! Epic ! I'm so happy for you Nandi !

It was awesome to be in that building last night! It was LOUD!!!
I feel like that choice of song was maybe too prophetic: "...could anything ever be this good again?" This will be hard to top as a life experience.
It's amazing! And on the flip side the Foos never in a million years would have imagined they'd be led by such a talented young drummer and so flawlessly.
Safe to say there won't be many boring high-school drum recitals in her future! I mean, you just played for 17K at the LA Forum....
"Can I keep my last drumstick to remember this moment?" She said (Guessing) :)
Awesome!
What was better throughout this battle: Dave's unrivaled kindness and humanity or Nandi's raw talent and pure joy? Tough call.
It's no competition between the two. It's a synergy of :)
Both. They were both better.

I'm actually really impressed with how well composed she managed to keep herself on stage before a lot of people. Having performed on stage before, I know how hard it is to control your nervousness, and still put on a solid performance. If she was nervous she certainly didn't show it. She put on a great performance.
@@operative2136 it's why she screams. Nandi uses her scream to express excess energy (her explanation, check her IG).
Her hi-hat/snare timing is impeccable. It is so hard to maintain that type of constant rhythm in the verses without tripping yourself up. I love that she enjoys playing so much…her enthusiasm is infectious!
That’s what I noticed immediately too. So precise. Effortlessly precise.
I am genuinely glad that so many other people said they teared up watching this!! This amazingly talented kid got to play the closing song, arguably the BEST song, by her favorite band, at a massive gig in LA. Basically every musicians dream. And she deserved everything second of it. Bravo Nandi.
this is why you NEVER cut music from school budgets. More people will use music after high school than Algebra. Nicely done young lady!
That's right my friend! Well said
Probably they will cut school totally. Who knows at this rate. They should teach good life skills for sure...music...gardening....things we need
Swedens biggest export is music. Some of the biggest bands and artists in the world have sometimes had a Swedish producer or a Swedish songwriter.
