    I have one thing to say..
    When people say 'The daddy long leg is the most venomous spider" They don't mean the Harvestman. They mean the Cellar Spider. In Louisiana, we call the Cellar Spiders Daddy Long Legs and I've heard people say that about them.

      Cellar spiders have very mild venom but they are incredible predators of spiders. They pose zero threat to humans.

    Harvestmen also huddle up in big clumps to keep warm and I find that adorable. That’s what it is when you find what looks like huge clumps of hair on the side or underneath a rock or something. And I obviously don’t have experience but I heard that it smells real bad if you kill em so it’s best to just leave them alone.

When i turned to look i saw red glowing eyes. A wolf spider was coming towards me. It isnt what i heard but it's the only thing i saw in that direction. Kinda creeped me out a little. Lol

      @ZakiBlakki 2 года назад

      @@11kimczi fair point, but if you went on the street and asked a person what a opilion is, they probably wouldnt be able to tell you. where as if you asked anyone not just in america, but throughout the world what a daddy long legs is, you will get 3 different answers correlating to 3 different insects/arachnids/opiliods that have long legs (dunno where the daddy part comes from). in the end simplicity will tend to be the naming sense for remembrance, but scientific names are for understanding the sub genres and names of the discoverers. unfortunately when it comes to english though, we just name things as we see them if we dont actually know what they are. In the end though, it would be awesome to know things like this as "opilion" or know plant names by scientific names, but instead we call ants that bite and feel like fire on the bite - fire ants.
