You can say that again...white map is too lean, green map is too rich, stock plug is too cold, bogs on landings, detonates under load. KTM would have fixed it by now if they could have so either they are OK with the way it runs, or they can't fix it. Either is un-acceptable for an $8k 125 that has been touted as better than any 125 engine to come before it...mine makes very very low hp on the dyno that has been a consistent dyno that produces hp that are directly in line with other published dyno numbers from different bikes. Not happy-
@@themotocrossmodchannelWulfMX I just got a 125xc about a week ago. Im using the br9 plug the stock br10 fouled before I got a chance to ride it, But the sales guy told me to idle the bike for 5 mins with the cold start pushed in, twice. for a break in and I think that's what fouled it. My clutch sucks also it will die even pulled in to my fingers... Other than that the thing runs like a bat out of hell in both maps. No complaints on the power. Im running what the manual says for a mix and using pump gas. Did I get a different map or is the xc just set up different?
@@The2006200 For sure the 10 plug is a colder plug, never owned a 125 before that used anything other than a 9...can you please describe what you mean the "clutch will die",,thx for posting.
@@themotocrossmodchannelWulfMX even when I have the clutch pulled in almost all the way to the bar it’s not fully disengaging and the motor wants to pull away but since it’s only a 125 it feels like it wants to kill the engine. I’m hoping it just needs to be bled but the dealer should’ve done a good job of that…. I just got back from riding the bike in some desert, Sandy. Whoops I haven’t had that much fun on a dirtbike in a long time. The thing runs very clean, crisp and beautiful. It’s my first 125 so I didn’t know what to expect. I also have a 250 2 stroke. I have about 30 years of riding and racing experience. It feels like magic on the desert trails. I haven’t got a chance to ride my good tight, woodsy single track yet because of snow. I’m definitely going to put some parts on it but I don’t feel like it needs any motor work for me yet I’m only about 145 pounds. How is your SX running now? Did KTM get the mapping sorted out? I don’t know why mine and yours would be different. They’re supposed to have the same motor.
@@The2006200 OK, thanks for explaining the clutch..there is a small black adj knob on the lever, turn it so your lever moves away from the grip and max it out so the lever is far away as possible and see as a test if that helps any..this is just to test.
I am having an issue where my map switch lights are both coming on while I am driving the bike. They also will flash on and off or stay solid depending on if I am riding it hard or not.
So I have gotten the TC125 2023… Obviously you are going to be hyped when it’s your first bike you purchased, took it to Ocotillo Wells it ran for like an 1.5 hours. I put it on the Green Map and it bogged and couldn’t start it and run it again. My uncle and his father in law worked tirelessly to get it running. It was a fouled Spark Plug oh and guess what.. they don’t have the parts available just yet 🤦♂️ So yup, a ruined trip and back to the drawing board to fix the damn bike.
Run an orange box OEM KTM BR9ECMVX it should be good to go...don't run the green map, use the white map only for now! 40/1 with a good premix, and not sure what octane you are using but Im going up on mine, the bike detonates under load and needs a higher octane requirement.
After cracking the stock ECU, it does appear there are 3 maps in the programming..the 3rd map seems to be a reference map or possible a default, but it is really rich, unridable...strange.
I'm watching these videos because I bought my 13yo son a 23 250sxf (w40hrs for $7k) & a guy wants to trade, even, for his 23 125sx w/0hrs which would be a better fit for us, but I'm not sure yet..
I mean i suspect the metal can ecu’s are i. general not great. But maps can be changed dynamically via CAN so and maybe there will be something that does it for you.
@@andrewpereira1117 I would not recommend veering off from what the manual says bc these ECU's are locked and you can't compensate for the fuel trims and add or remove.
@@mikeb4708 I know Keefer is super knowledgable about bike set up and changes etc..however for him to recommend a different oil/fuel ratio that will in turn effect the overall AFR when the ECU does not have the ability to change or modify it's architecture is something that I simply wouldn't do. Although the octane is higher than whats spec'd, the AFR could be very lean and it is starving the TBI circuit of fuel.
Yeah, *_buddy_* !
I keep coming across videos like this. It appears more testing was needed before releasing

this iswl why I love carbs tho...very wild how far ktm has come for efi.
Can you explain what each button does?
Have you rode your bike since the new spark plug? I am confident Ktm will have all these issues fixed by the time my riding season starts
only on the dyno, haven't ran it on the new plug yet. Please subscribe and I will follow you!

keep the 250f, better resale, less issues, great bike!
They need to do something quick. The mapping is absolutely junk on green. The bike is all around weak.

The manual specs 60/1 just double check that
