she is literally touching the pathway of the facial nerve to the orbicularis oculi so my guess is that a branch of the facial nerve serving that region has something wrong with it (entrapped, chemical assault, too thin, poor blood supply). When she massages the pathway, function is restored. Similar to percussional maintenance in electronics when wires are loose, but in this case to relieve the nerve/mechanically forcing action potentials.

❤❤❤ I have worn false eyelashes since the 1980's. Some of this new eyelashes glue is "sturdy" to say the least. There have been occasions where after being a bit enthusiastic about applying my eyelashes glue one eye has gotten glued to the bottom of my eye. To unstick the lash I do exactly what Katie is doing. Seriously, people. That is all this is.

Ok. So you may be right with the information you have as a doctor, and that’s cool. But I’m sure Katy has her own doctors, who see and examine her personally to be able to diagnose her. Secondly, this IS in fact her “party trick”, as she calls it. She does it all the time and I’ve seen her do it in person several times and she can do it on command. I actually tried it and it’s not hard. In this show “Play”, she’s a doll, hence doing this to imitate those baby dolls who sometimes have broken eyes after being played with and loved by children for so long. Third, this “collapse clip” you showed, was from 2011, from her “Teenage Dream Tour” which I also saw in person and it was part of the show and she literally did it every performance. It’s a bit toxic to just take clips and use them in videos and make false claims like “she collapsed on stage” suggesting something was wrong. This is how so much false information spreads over the internet. If you’re going to make an informative video and especially as a doctor who wants to be taken seriously, please research your subject better. Lastly, you made this entire video, after you dismissed Katy’s words, and basically said you think she’s lying, which encourages others to say the same thing.
