I don't like it since I got hacked and I emailed them to recover the lost items and they refused to so there is an issue bec they recovered leamonpuppy's items.
I miss when animal jam wasn’t like this. I recently came back a few months ago after a 6 year break and it felt like a completely different game. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of time to grind, there’s not much I can do on this game anymore. It’s sad to know this is what my favorite childhood game has come to.
as someone who used to grind heavily and had many rare items like headdresses and party hats, it really becomes tedious and boring. I quit the game like 4 years ago and come back time to time, but it is really not how it used to be. trading doesnt even feel rewarding anymore if you get a good trade to me and trading was the only reason i got hooked on the game in the first place. really sad to see a game like this fall so far from what it used to be.
@@rei4172I recently came back from like 8 years after getting scammed for everything. You have to now play with aj wiki worth on your phone. I’ve made like 2 black longs in 2 days. icl I don’t really play as like a love for aj, more or less just for boredom and because I can trade well. Watch like 2 vids on it and then go through all ur stuff on aj wiki. You’d be surprised, I have items that weren’t ever rare and now they’re worth like a good long. Diamonds are now called “dims” and you can trade diamonds in dens which is why you will hear people shouting in the lobby about going to their dens.
I remember when i was into classic a year ago,, a guy in bradys was boasting about how he had like 100(??) alpha swords and he only puts 1 on trade at a time and he managed to bring the worth up so much that they were no longer worthless like they were… he was CONTROLLING how many went into circulation…. Honestly, he should take those market skills and actually do real-world economics 😭
if anything should have good rarity, i think the pet toy code items should be rare!! i dont even think they sell those things anymore xD I miss way back when, I joined 2017 and unfortunately that was the time when shit started to hit the fan... I was running through forgotten desert like crazy, i mustve done hundreds of runs, but i never got any collars short or long; best items I got were the non member wallpaper/wood floor, camis frog, and a short spiked wrist At the time, I remember I wanted a purple long because it was my favorite color, but the aj economy was already starting to show its flaws.. it was crazy... tiki's summer event came along and it was SO MUCH MORE FUN than forgotten dessert, i think the drop rate for spikes was higher in this event but i liked the items!!
Wish AJHQ would just bring spikes back to adventures and more "rare" items like the tiki mask. Of course make the chances of those items much lower so they aren't mass produced. It sucks that there's also one of a kind items when I as a hardcore player would love to have one as well. I started hoarding items just so I can afford other items I do want. I used to own the unreleased toilet den item, and I did trade it away. The person who I traded was hoarding them and then got banned... lol
the whole reason these items are worthless now is because of botting scripts, that can farm these kinds of items. thats why i believe animaljam shouldnt add ANY of the "rarer" items to adventures, at that point theyre better putting everything in shop. it doesnt matter the chances of getting the item. the exploits can (almost) INSTANTLY complete adventures if they have a script for the adventure. multiple animaljam tabs and computers, boom, the items are worthless.
Oh so this explains why somebody just gifted me like three fox hats for no reason. I was shocked cuz I hadn't been playing for a while, and when I was more active, they were saught out by every nonmember as some grail.
its crazy that the problems present in the animal jam economy are basically exactly the same as the problems in the real-world economy (a few select people hoarding all of the wealth and distributing none of it back, only seeking to make themselves and their peers even wealthier)
This is what i been thinking of. Me and my sister used to play back in elementary to middle school and just now hopped back on. We’ve been shocked at how the game has become a capitalism simulator
i remember grinding as a kid for fox hats and bow and arrows. esp the bow and arows since i love them and had like 6., but theyre not even worth anything anymore lol . crazy how much has changed, i recently got on and its sooooo different .
I feel it. I own a founders hat and people are constantly messaging me about “what for it?” It just got to the point where I was so annoyed that I turned my jags off. But they still even ask me regardless.. I love my founders, I got it from a gift from a friend who doesn’t play anymore so it holds a lot of sentimental value to me that people just won’t understand.
As someone who used to play back in 2014-2017, the whole trading economy is such a mess. I think there was some sort of breach back in 2020-2021, which resulted in my account having all of its rare items taken. So earlier this year when I wanted to get back into the game I tried and failed to make my way back into the market, and honestly trying to become someone who has good items(spikes, headdresses, etc) is worthless, all of the people who hold onto those items seem to be incredibly selfish and unwilling to ever stoop any lower than more than what their items are worth. The whole necklace to spike pipeline will never work again. The only ways I was able to get anything was via forgotten desert and giveaways. I don’t think I had a single trade go through for my 2 months of playing. And from the looks of it, if I picked the game back up again I’d have even worse of a time. I’d say the learning curve of the animal jam economy these days is incredibly steep.
@@azreilli thats not what they are saying, people are OVERPAYING for those items and people with them are still hoarding them its incredibly hard to even play the game anymore, especially as a non member
It took me 6 days to get a trade for my black tiki mask and I had to cross trade just for them to want to take my already over trade. Also, one thing that you missed is how people are hoarding these items and then purposefully getting the account with those items banned so that theres phyically less of that item in the game and it sends the value of that item way way up. When the alpha swords were duplicated there was an account going around and trading for all of them just so that they could do that. Its insane.
why would they purposefully get the account banned? if they wanted to delete items from the game wouldnt it be easier to just recycle them it would make sense though if hoarders got banned naturally for reasons like scamming, selling items, chatting inappropriately etc. a lot of the people willing to do something as scummy as hoard and purposefully worth manipulate are probably willing to do other scummy things
@@ianbatplushie65 if the accounts banned more people would believe the items are gone too which increases their rarity, if they recycled them nobody would know theyve been recycled so there'll be less but the price will stay the same
alot of problems could be fixed by allowing all the items to be accessible again in rotation like the old days, the value and economy would die down, same with exploiters and the fun of decorating your den or character would come back or even looking forward to the next store rotation. i would do anything for a lag free, updated animal jam "classic". that i wont even begin to describe the amount of potential and things the game could do to improve.
That wouldn't necessarily get rid of the want for rares and betas since thats what made the AJ playerbase what it is... sad I know.. wasting your whole life just to get pixels...
i remember when i was younger i used to grind TFD so much, i even got my first black long spiked collar from it it sucks that hackers have been ruining everything
I really wish there was some way to combat the botting problem, like some sort of anti-cheat system that could detect if a user has them installed or something. I’m no tech wiz, and as far as I understand classic’s code is in a precarious place as is, but I think if there was some way to do this, like perhaps detecting repetitive movement patterns or something, it could fix so many problems with the aj economy.
they kind of have one in tfd, if you complete a gem before 3 minutes have passed you dont get the prize. they probably shouldve implemented something like this in rotp but i guess it wasnt as high of a priority idk
Ah, i was wondering what happened to clothing betas when i returned to aj just a few days ago. I played as a nm for a while and yeah trading as one is a nightmare. Getting a fair trade is so difficult, its like ppl think nms dont know rarity or smth.
Is it just me or is the worth wiki also just straight up lying. Items that were never den betas are being classified as den betas and it’s pissing me off
I've been a dedicated player for a looong time now and the only changes to den betas that I recall are the removal of the sewing machine and the items that returned in one of the player hosted parties (fire pit, fountain, bongo drums). Am I missing something? The den beta wiki page looks the same to me as it has for years now.
Unfortunately- before animal jam can help fix the economy, they first have to start figuring out how to stop the hacks with actual fixes and blocks and not just band aids. They stopped people from basically hacking in black longs from the forgotten desert by- well just taking them out, INSTEAD of targeting the hackers and the hacks theyre using (im mostly talking about the autcomplete adventure hacks and such, not account hacking, though that is a problem)
I find it hard to get back into the game now. I remember as a kid spending an entire week grinding, making buddies, and trading up for a founders hat. Nowadays, it’s hard to trade for anything. Everyone with an item i’d like to trade for has it as off limits. I am an uncommon den item collector specifically and it is so hard to find people who care about anything but clothing rares. Trading for uncommon items is fun because there often is no real set value! But I haven’t done it since 2021. I wish I could get back into this game, my account is 12 years old and I’ve got so much stuff :(
made a new acc after years and realized just how out of my element i am now lol. i used to be "rare" and had a lot of betas only cus i played the game when you could buy betas in stores. im so taken aback by how obsessed people are with some of these items
Man, I just want a light pink headdress so badly but I'll never be able to get even 50 black longs. I've got nothin in terms of that. Trading for just ONE takes forever. Even with 35 dbs it's impossible to find someone to trade a black long for that. It's my childhood dream, and likely I'll have to resort to...yk 💀
I had two headdresses (black and blue) and a beta blanket then got banned in 2020. came back yesterday because i managed to get a black headdress from cross trading on roblox 😭. i think its easier than trading up with the current economy and i really never expected to have a headdress again
I always liked to collect on AJ but hoarding became such a problem that i can't even get a party hat because people hoard them so much. It's genuinely sad to see how stingy this community has become and I don't play as often due to it
i recently started playing animal jam again just over 4 months ago (after not playing since like 2016) and it has been an interesting experience... i came back and it felt like everyone was speaking in secret code and also shops were now a thing. on top of that, i lost my old account (which i'm still a little mad about considering i had some items worth quite a bit on there and that when you search my old username i still show but aj hq can do nothing but i digress). despite all that, i continued to keep playing and have played every single day for months. i understand how it all works a lot better now and have a bit of a rims for gems and cheap dim shop business that is serving me well and have been really enjoying myself. however, one thing i do find a little disheartening is how impossible (or at least difficult) it seems for me to actually get too a point where i'm able to have all these cool items i see others with. it took pretty much every high value item i had to get the spike i had on my old account because i remember buying it in the diamond shop so it meant a lot for me to have it again. so it honestly breaks my heart every time i see a hoarder with all these items. i found this video super interesting and helpful because it actually explained the reasoning behind this issue i have been noticing. obviously, i don't expect to be rich after only playing for 4+ months when there's a bunch of long term players, but still i'm glad i'm not the only one who felt this way haha.
Personally I think what ruined trading was being able to trade more then one item for something. I remember having to think really hard to trade lol I played LOOOOONG ago so items like bow and arrow, fox hat, worn, and sword are the only items I care or wanted to wear lol. Like my inner child owning that is so satisfied. I had some other nice rare items, that are valuable in the present economy. But, my account was hacked. Despite me reporting it to AJ, I noticed a lot of my items didn’t return. But tbh it isn’t the thing I like about the game so, the fact its gotten this bad disappoints me.
my account is only worth about 4 black longs, and its so hard to trade up these days because NOBODY wants to accept a fair trade. the only trades I get are heavily unfair on my part
I remember playing back in 2017 and now I see what it is about Play Wild is a huge pay to win, everything is about actual money from your pockets And Classic has developed its own form of capitalism with a borderline classistic hierarchy Not to mention it became my first gambling addiction 😭
grinding for a solid in this economy is so so hard, its so tiring to grind adventures, trade, repeat i wanted to save up 35 den betas for a solid, but i gave up and decided to trade up spikes, since grinding for den betas is so so tedious
I recently came back to this game since not playing it in 2021 and I think it's just crazy. It's got way harder to get into trading unless you already had good items before. And sadly for me i lost a lot of my stuff like my RIM Head feather and 3 solids. I dont get why they made ajc economy like ajpw? Ajpw is also really hard to get into trading because it's hard to get anything to trade up. Not to mention theyve released those solid colors items which looks mediocre at best. I think overall this is bad for returning players and especially new players.
You literally need a rare item just to trade for more items. I usually buy them from players. But something that makes me mad, is when there is a normal item, and then the normal item looking exactly the same but rare. It makes it hard to trade, and I can’t understand anything!!
The thing in animal jam play wild too is that it is a HUGE pay to win. Everything costs real money. The sapphires to get cool items cost an eye from your socket at the very least
2012 player that went on hiatus and recently got back last month here: Current day AJ Economy is atrocious. People are so picky and greedy to stock up on solids and rare items and not help the people around them. I was in the township literally a few seconds ago and saw someone trying to trade down their spikes. I watched the trade thought pop up and disappear only for them to greedily ask for more, the person on the other side of the trade walked up to them and said they were already over trading and refused to add more, saying that people nowadays are demanding too much. They're not wrong. Item Worth, in my opinion, does more harm than support in the community. It made people demand the most for their items and refuse to take less. It made common day dream items incredibly out of reach just because of the high worth it has. It made people selfishly hoard their items and make fun of the people who arent even close to obtaining it. Its disgusting to watch a game meant to teach kids about animals convert into a cesspool of fat cats and hoarders.
Also I swear the black long is one of the most common spikes now. But since it’s always been top, it still is considered the most rare. I think red and purple are less common like I never see them, same with pink
YES hoarding is such a problem and ppl can play it off as collecting but if its more than two of the same item why are you keeping it?? and the ppl who intentionally buy copies and resell them for way more are worse and i unfortunately dont think itll be fixed anytime soon or at all simply bc of how greedy ppl are and they dont want to trade their items. i genuinely didnt know the worth went down and i stopped trading so long ago because of how hard it is. i have a few dream items that i just never tried to get bc the worth was so high and i cant get rid of my items with an even slightly lower demand even artists on animal jam get undercharged its just so bad rn
Man I remember back then when I used to play in 2015 I used to play and items were easy to grab I wish I could get a headdress like pink or blue but their so much now it’s insane
I hate how it's gotten impossible to get rare. Unless you previously had a spike or den betas, you can't rise in worth because of the mess that clothing betas have become. Even if you want to buy a spike, you'd need to log in for dozens of days to gather enough diamonds. Unless you have something valuable to sell, which you don't because you're trying to rise in worth, nobody is going to buy from your store which just makes the game frustrating.
@@idontcheckmynotifsdontboth7753 Is it really that easy to win den betas in tfd? I've played aj for years and never won anything remotely close to rare in tfd besides one time I picked up a red short wrist from a chest in the map.
so glad that this video had randomly came in my recommendations a few days ago for me to save and watch later, because weeks ago i came into animal jam-after months of not playing it-for a little bit and decided to trade for a bit. Not only I was observing what people were trading, but I had also pulled up the Animal jam wiki (which yes, i know isnt the most accurate thing but it can help know worth). I had just happen to left the game when I paused trading my clothing betas for den betas... so of course I checked the clothing beta and den beta page and oh my god i was SHOCKED. I didn't want to immedietely assume the wiki was right, so I observed what people were trading for den betas; people trading over 10 clothing betas for a single den beta supported the wiki's claims. i was actually quite irritated. On top of me keeping a few clothing betas that doesnt add up to the the number i need now to trade for ONE den beta, i am a nonmember now so its harder to get clothing betas (and den betas) more quickly than when you're a member. This was all a month ago, like early July. I am genuinely, genuinely agitated by animal jam's economy. friends become less active in AJC quickly than years ago, the whimsy of the game has been fading and the people behind the game don't bother to keep it alive (won't even bother to make parties work again), the community isnt all that great, shopping & diamonds are taking over the trading economy to the point if it being slightly harder to trade normally, the economy is chaotic to the point its harder to get items you like, the game's light is dimming away. I hardly find the motivation to go on AJC anymore to the point I wont even try getting membership just to be more productive and try to get stuff i casually like and dream items i want by trading (mainly collector & uncommon items). i cant believe theres such a pressuring, difficult economy in a kid's game lol... then again this game (and its community) is hardly fun now so.
the reason i hoard in ajc is because i can't find the people to trade who don't want to hoard. it's also really hard to find those people since i'm not a member anymore. used to love trading.
i keep seeing aj classic vids on my reccomended talking abt how the game is getting worse and im just like "i mean its always been terrible and now its declining in popularity this is entriely expected"
This is actually a really interesting experiment I think. We get to see how an economy works and unfolds on a smaller scale. I think so often we blame bad economies kn governments and rich people (not saying these don't play a part) but when you take away the government and the rich people, like on Animal Jam, you still have the same economic problems. Shows that the people are to blame for bad economies and not necessarily the big dogs.
I don't trade anymore and probably own very few good items now, but I used to be a big trader when I was younger. This is such an interesting video and I appreciate the effort that went into making a whole excel spreadsheet and graph lol. It's kinda crazy how most of us basically grew up with our own mini economy with disruptions and additions along the way. The hoarding situation is kinda sad, I understand wanting to collect like one of each color of something but c'mon.. I wonder if these people are also trying to sell the items they hoard for real cash. edit: i've played ajc since 2013 but somehow never managed to get to a headdress. I guess that would be the item i'd want but never be able to go for without spending a lot of time trading.
yesss i feel so dumb that i didn’t wait till now to trade for a rim hd cause in 2022 i traded 9 black longs and now they are worth 4.5 not even and i could of had left over solids but that’s why im never trading my headdress till it goes up again 💀
I think the economy in the game is just completely ruined in general it should not cost someone 300 spikes etc for one item when the trade system wasn’t and isn’t built for that i remember items costing way less but still a challenge to obtain but now it just seems like its impossible. Yes we have grown up but its a kids game at the end of the day and its just sad seeing the state of the game and its inflated economy it makes it not worth playing and i used to love the game 😢
why do i kinda like how complex the aj economy is tho it makes the game lowkey interesting for me having to find out different worths and everything (i even write them all down) it’s fun for me atleast i dunno, there’s definitely some problems with it tho like people getting banned on purpose and having super rare items is crazy just because they want the worth to go up 😭 and also cbs being worth like nothing now i also thought was really crazy
considering how many of those items that are super rare were duped into the game and how hard it is as a non-rare player to trade its not as fun as it used to be /lh
I didn't realize how much worth had changed when i came back to the game until I traded away my pet mouse for MUCH MUCH less than it was worse, because I didn't realize how much people paid for them. I was talking about the trade to some other people ingame and they informed me id severely undertraded for it and i was devastated
my mindset for all my players who left and came back after a few years: buy it like it still means something to you. because one day the rarity could go back to what it was and you may never know. complete your collections. become what younger you wanted. as long as you are happy y'know?
Exactly! I got my account back after many years, the worth for everything is so different. Even though the clothing betas seem useless to other people, my younger self loved them and I spend my time in adventures now to get them. I feel much happier giving my own worth to items instead of listening to what everyone else thinks it’s worth.
My opinion when Jammers hoard things it is not a good thing like if you have one of each that's okay, but when you start to take all of it and not share you're hurting everyone.
i’ve been wondering why nobody trades in places like crystal sands, temple of zios, etc anymore- like nobody really liked trading in jamaa for big things but now they’re forced to. since the only other trading area is brady’s lab, i’m just confused as to what happened
The game's total population probably isn't large enough anymore to consistently host more than 60 people constantly in these trading rooms, unfortunately I remember Aldan being full up to appondale or kimbara back in the day by that point
trading was ruined once 20 item trading came about. and when the monthly member gifts went away. ofc it made trading safer (not rly. people have been scammed plenty with it in place..) & more convenient (not rly, its laggy asf). it was a lot better when you could trade only 1-4 items because then you had to put thought into things. the monthly member gifts was constantly introducing new items that were sought after by people who couldnt afford it, so item worth wasnt placed solely on black longs, but also nature arches, etc.
I take advantage of the low cost on clothing betas now because eventually they’re going to go up in value. Plus clothing betas like fox hats are my favorite thing ever
trading for rares is SO HARD. I used to have a blue hd for example which i traded for a mag frog hat when they were in high worth…now im down to 1 beta blanket. Sucks when you get so far and the rarity of certain items you trade for randomly goes down so much. Everyone is super greedy these days and since spikes aren’t in forgotten desert it’s SUPER hard to get anywhere. I don’t even trade anymore atp 😭🙏
Yeah. Bradys lab.. is interesting. You have the occasional 5-6 people with fancy names, being extremely rude, lowballing to get profit, and just like idk. Complaining about not getting a fair trade or complaining about trading fair but they didn't accept etc. I was trading someone in there, and obviously u can't move when you trade.. right. 3 people went off at me to "get off" their friend. And it was in all caps. Like.. brooooo. These peoples ego's and "personal" space issues are crazy, they need to go outside. Also yeah, most of the people who hoard stuff, have like over 10 headdresses and magenta items are rude, and have an ego so far up their own ass its crazy.
Bro Ajpw is like that every single day too. Fucking rich idiots in trading dens always talking smack and just sit there for hours not doing anything then lowball you or gas light you and then get chat banned.
I honestly don't play AJ a lot, and just seeing things like this for myself really makes me feel unmotivated to even try anymore. The rarest thing I own is probably my pink long, which isn't much.
It's virtually impossible to climb rarity in this game anymore unless you spend absurd amounts of money for diamonds OR buying membership for the daily spin. I started playing near 2016 and slowly working myself up with my friends in the game was my FAVORITE. PART. The game has become really pay to win lately (in the trading aspect)
I haven’t played it in years but I will say that I tried logging in one day and I wasn’t able to get in. Didn’t forget username and password, it just wasn’t logging me in. I also knew I wasn’t banned. So I tried doing it on mobile but it’s a whole different setup on mobile and my laptop account wasn’t activating. So I don’t know if I need to try again on a desktop or what. I didn’t like the mobile version.
I just liked collecting nm items and the ajhq hot mag/slimegreen/cyan whatevs are great for fits !!! (i try to avoid trading (like i overtraded my tan tiki solids and all my spikes just to get cute outfits since the modern meta is too annoying for me to figure out) :( ...like people host fasion shows anymore
i don't think it's a bad thing let be honest most hoarders are rich jammers who don't want to trade their items and just want to brag about it so i think it's a good thing the items start to lose value so they will be more pressured to trade it or give more Opportunity to other items to be more wanted. i'm just glad that the economy dropped because it was almost impossible for people to get good items before. it can be hard now but better than collecting tons of collars no one will want because they can get in games anyway.
I just got back into AJ after probably a 6 or 7 year hiatus and i offered someone a couple RIMs for a blue fox hat. They declined and said no no no. Then they traded me the fox hat for an elephant plushie that was on my trading list. Fox hats are literally worth nothing now i guess.
The AJPW economy is a dumpster fire 😘 (Coming from a literal member) Also I want the old game owner back bc whoever they sold the game to made it pay to win
I'd say that's up to you technically if you wanted a specific dream item for years, right now might be the perfect time to get it but if you have nothing and have to start again, it might be a bit more challenging
Has anyone els noticed that eco-friendly equipment in aj is nothing more than never-ending Collected clutter that junks up the den and looks terrible. This makes me think of the real equipment and how it will clutter up the real world too. The future looks bleak.
I just came back and 1 den beta is 15-20 CBS…. I thought getting 4 was hard. Now I have to get 15-20… 🥲 oh and my beta set which I traded 70 solids for IN PURE…. Is now worth 14. 😀😀😀😀 edit. I kinda like how things are low now, but it also bounces so much.. just a few months ago, the LPHD was 180. Now it’s 50. I have a chance to get stuff I want but if, and I know it will, things drop more or shoot back up, I’m gonna have a lot of regret haha. Also, I know there are item trackers, but how does everyone keep track of the amount of items?????
I started playing in around 2013, and you could get a RIM headdress pretty easy back in those years. I remember I traded an orange short for mine. It's crazy how inflated the prices have become. Tens of black longs for a light pink hd is crazy. I was debating getting back into the game, but now that I know this is the state the economy is in, it's better that I don't. I think AJHQ just doesn't care about classic anymore, especially since they rebranded AJPW to just Animal Jam. Seems they've shifted focus, and now they don't care about the original game all that much. Just milking it for a bit more before they eventually shut it down. Can't be too long now
What's your opinion on the current economy? (AJ or IRL) :p
The animal jam economy needs a tax system so that I can commit twice the amount of tax evasion 👀
The economy has been this way for years lol
can i have the copy of your spreadsheet I kinda want to make my own opinion on this topic and I will give credits to you of course
I don't like it since I got hacked and I emailed them to recover the lost items and they refused to so there is an issue bec they recovered leamonpuppy's items.
I have to trade 3 den betas for a sandwich! My rent costs as much as a LP headdress but I still only make one neon bow per hour at work!

@@ChewiiCrumbz somebody did a hack where they unlocked all the codes at once so i believe they are all in game now
Wish AJHQ would just bring spikes back to adventures and more "rare" items like the tiki mask. Of course make the chances of those items much lower so they aren't mass produced. It sucks that there's also one of a kind items when I as a hardcore player would love to have one as well. I started hoarding items just so I can afford other items I do want. I used to own the unreleased toilet den item, and I did trade it away. The person who I traded was hoarding them and then got banned... lol
The problem here is that WildWorks has proven they don't know how to run a stable in-game economy (or an economy involving NFTs smh).
I wish that is well, I also wish they would bring headdresses back.
@@Foxypanda15 I would prefer if they didn't, we don't need cultural appropriation...
@@Foxypanda15 no.
the whole reason these items are worthless now is because of botting scripts, that can farm these kinds of items. thats why i believe animaljam shouldnt add ANY of the "rarer" items to adventures, at that point theyre better putting everything in shop.
it doesnt matter the chances of getting the item. the exploits can (almost) INSTANTLY complete adventures if they have a script for the adventure. multiple animaljam tabs and computers, boom, the items are worthless.
Oh so this explains why somebody just gifted me like three fox hats for no reason. I was shocked cuz I hadn't been playing for a while, and when I was more active, they were saught out by every nonmember as some grail.
Same with a bow
OMG I remember when I would do ANYTHING FOR A WORN !!! times have changed
@@namisa33 i remember when you could buy them and i bought a bunch of red ones for some reason
its crazy that the problems present in the animal jam economy are basically exactly the same as the problems in the real-world economy (a few select people hoarding all of the wealth and distributing none of it back, only seeking to make themselves and their peers even wealthier)
This is what i been thinking of. Me and my sister used to play back in elementary to middle school and just now hopped back on. We’ve been shocked at how the game has become a capitalism simulator
@@Cujokitty37 real same i used to play pw with my brother all the time as a little kid
i remember grinding as a kid for fox hats and bow and arrows. esp the bow and arows since i love them and had like 6., but theyre not even worth anything anymore lol . crazy how much has changed, i recently got on and its sooooo different .
But tbh who wants to give away hard earned items for less than it’s worth, especially considering how difficult it can be to get them now.
Its insane.
thats really scummy I didn't even know about that :/
theyre so smart actually
why would they purposefully get the account banned? if they wanted to delete items from the game wouldnt it be easier to just recycle them
it would make sense though if hoarders got banned naturally for reasons like scamming, selling items, chatting inappropriately etc. a lot of the people willing to do something as scummy as hoard and purposefully worth manipulate are probably willing to do other scummy things
@@ianbatplushie65 if the accounts banned more people would believe the items are gone too which increases their rarity, if they recycled them nobody would know theyve been recycled so there'll be less but the price will stay the same
thats honestly insane
animal jam should have a similar system to chicken smoothie where banned members items go to a "pound"
alot of problems could be fixed by allowing all the items to be accessible again in rotation like the old days, the value and economy would die down, same with exploiters and the fun of decorating your den or character would come back or even looking forward to the next store rotation. i would do anything for a lag free, updated animal jam "classic". that i wont even begin to describe the amount of potential and things the game could do to improve.
The problem is flash- they cant do major updates because flash is removed :/ the economy is what keeps people playing aj now
honestly wish they would remake animal jam completely and nobody would care abt rares or betas
That wouldn't necessarily get rid of the want for rares and betas since thats what made the AJ playerbase what it is... sad I know.. wasting your whole life just to get pixels...
Yeah this game sure does deserve a rework 😂
Restarting the game sounds insanely fun
I cannot believe how such a simple educational kids game mutated into a crazy capitalist economical game. 😂
i remember when i was younger i used to grind TFD so much, i even got my first black long spiked collar from it
it sucks that hackers have been ruining everything
I really wish there was some way to combat the botting problem, like some sort of anti-cheat system that could detect if a user has them installed or something. I’m no tech wiz, and as far as I understand classic’s code is in a precarious place as is, but I think if there was some way to do this, like perhaps detecting repetitive movement patterns or something, it could fix so many problems with the aj economy.
they kind of have one in tfd, if you complete a gem before 3 minutes have passed you dont get the prize. they probably shouldve implemented something like this in rotp but i guess it wasnt as high of a priority idk
the problem with a lot of anti cheats is that they are quite invasive, for the stronger ones you have to give it access to your entire pc
Ah, i was wondering what happened to clothing betas when i returned to aj just a few days ago. I played as a nm for a while and yeah trading as one is a nightmare. Getting a fair trade is so difficult, its like ppl think nms dont know rarity or smth.
YES REAL i felt like i had to buy it and i did just bc of that and no one pays attention to u either
We all know Wildworks be too stupid to do that lol
It's my childhood dream, and likely I'll have to resort to...yk
💀
god this is so real😭 my dream item is the silver and blue hd and lord i tried so hard for months and could never get it
Ikr.. I wanted a pet hedgie bc of sonic brainrot but my singular dphd is NOT paying for that
What’s even crazier is that I have never even been able to get a black long. I hope we can one day reach our childhood goals
@@CypressBerry People are literally getting them for free now. They lost so much rarity I am pretty sure, everyone has one now a days. It’s crazy!
It's genuinely sad to see how stingy this community has become and I don't play as often due to it
Over a f*cking kids game even, which I had appropriately outgrown once I reached my early to mid teen years...
i recently started playing animal jam again just over 4 months ago (after not playing since like 2016) and it has been an interesting experience... i came back and it felt like everyone was speaking in secret code and also shops were now a thing. on top of that, i lost my old account (which i'm still a little mad about considering i had some items worth quite a bit on there and that when you search my old username i still show but aj hq can do nothing but i digress). despite all that, i continued to keep playing and have played every single day for months. i understand how it all works a lot better now and have a bit of a rims for gems and cheap dim shop business that is serving me well and have been really enjoying myself. however, one thing i do find a little disheartening is how impossible (or at least difficult) it seems for me to actually get too a point where i'm able to have all these cool items i see others with. it took pretty much every high value item i had to get the spike i had on my old account because i remember buying it in the diamond shop so it meant a lot for me to have it again. so it honestly breaks my heart every time i see a hoarder with all these items. i found this video super interesting and helpful because it actually explained the reasoning behind this issue i have been noticing. obviously, i don't expect to be rich after only playing for 4+ months when there's a bunch of long term players, but still i'm glad i'm not the only one who felt this way haha.
Personally I think what ruined trading was being able to trade more then one item for something. I remember having to think really hard to trade lol
I played LOOOOONG ago so items like bow and arrow, fox hat, worn, and sword are the only items I care or wanted to wear lol.
THISSSSSS ppl wanted the thing full of blacklongs...thats when the game went south
Nah man- the adding more space for trading only let people not get scammed as much anymore haha
my account is only worth about 4 black longs, and its so hard to trade up these days because NOBODY wants to accept a fair trade. the only trades I get are heavily unfair on my part
Way back when i still played aj classic I got my first older rare, a fox hat and I traded a rare star cape for it
That one person who messed up the clothing beta worth is mad, literally impacted the game like crazy💀💀
I remember playing back in 2017 and now I see what it is about
Play Wild is a huge pay to win, everything is about actual money from your pockets
And Classic has developed its own form of capitalism with a borderline classistic hierarchy
Not to mention it became my first gambling addiction 😭
grinding for a solid in this economy is so so hard, its so tiring to grind adventures, trade, repeat
i wanted to save up 35 den betas for a solid, but i gave up and decided to trade up spikes, since grinding for den betas is so so tedious
2012 player that went on hiatus and recently got back last month here:
Current day AJ Economy is atrocious.
Surprised that people don't farm sky high more, once you practice it gets pretty easy. Love playing it and get to the top
It just takes sooo long and the prizes are mostly trash
we just need a full factory reset on both games
fr
Also I swear the black long is one of the most common spikes now. But since it’s always been top, it still is considered the most rare. I think red and purple are less common like I never see them, same with pink
i never see pink or red longs if im being honest. probably being hoarded
YES hoarding is such a problem and ppl can play it off as collecting but if its more than two of the same item why are you keeping it?? and the ppl who intentionally buy copies and resell them for way more are worse
and i unfortunately dont think itll be fixed anytime soon or at all simply bc of how greedy ppl are and they dont want to trade their items. i genuinely didnt know the worth went down and i stopped trading so long ago because of how hard it is. i have a few dream items that i just never tried to get bc the worth was so high and i cant get rid of my items with an even slightly lower demand
even artists on animal jam get undercharged its just so bad rn
I just buy copies just in case something happens to the other one XD (but yeah, also for trading.)
You picked my bug outfit to win your fashion show! Tysm Brad!
Unless you have something valuable to sell, which you don't because you're trying to rise in worth, nobody is going to buy from your store which just makes the game frustrating.
just play tfd lol got wood floor, the claw, and long black wrist in 3 days from only a few game. plus some den betas
I've been seeing those videos as well, and that wasn't my goal to talk about with this video although it seems to align with it
DUDE THIS IS SUCH A MOOD lol
I haven’t played AJ in like 8 years but it’s so interesting to see how it is nowadays. I used to have a light pink headdress and a green one
animal jam headdresses r like roblox valks
Pretty good video , but as suggestion , lowering the music volume would be good as its a bit hard to hear you at times :,D
I guess that would be the item i'd want but never be able to go for without spending a lot of time trading.
tbh ive noticed people only really want to accept overtrades
yesss i feel so dumb that i didn’t wait till now to trade for a rim hd cause in 2022 i traded 9 black longs and now they are worth 4.5 not even and i could of had left over solids but that’s why im never trading my headdress till it goes up again 💀
I think the economy in the game is just completely ruined in general it should not cost someone 300 spikes etc for one item when the trade system wasn’t and isn’t built for that i remember items costing way less but still a challenge to obtain but now it just seems like its impossible. Yes we have grown up but its a kids game at the end of the day and its just sad seeing the state of the game and its inflated economy it makes it not worth playing and i used to love the game 😢
these items shouldn't even be scarce in the first place! What children's game forces kids to grind in rigged economies?! Sigh
why do i kinda like how complex the aj economy is tho it makes the game lowkey interesting for me having to find out different worths and everything (i even write them all down) it’s fun for me atleast i dunno, there’s definitely some problems with it tho like people getting banned on purpose and having super rare items is crazy just because they want the worth to go up 😭 and also cbs being worth like nothing now i also thought was really crazy
considering how many of those items that are super rare were duped into the game and how hard it is as a non-rare player to trade its not as fun as it used to be /lh
It makes me so sad I wish it was like the old days
i remember when i had no idea about trading and i just wanted a fox hat to rp warrior cats 😭 i got some tho somehow lmao
life imitates art imitates life imitates....
ive always really wanted a light pink headdress ,, maybe ill be able to get one in a few years
My opinion when Jammers hoard things it is not a good thing like if you have one of each that's okay, but when you start to take all of it and not share you're hurting everyone.
i’ve been wondering why nobody trades in places like crystal sands, temple of zios, etc anymore- like nobody really liked trading in jamaa for big things but now they’re forced to. since the only other trading area is brady’s lab, i’m just confused as to what happened
The game's total population probably isn't large enough anymore to consistently host more than 60 people constantly in these trading rooms, unfortunately
I remember Aldan being full up to appondale or kimbara back in the day by that point
i miss when animal jam was fun and educational
it stopped being educational in like.. 2013 but yeah LMAO
trading was ruined once 20 item trading came about. and when the monthly member gifts went away. ofc it made trading safer (not rly. people have been scammed plenty with it in place..) & more convenient (not rly, its laggy asf). it was a lot better when you could trade only 1-4 items because then you had to put thought into things. the monthly member gifts was constantly introducing new items that were sought after by people who couldnt afford it, so item worth wasnt placed solely on black longs, but also nature arches, etc.
awesome video im looking forward to more of your content!
I take advantage of the low cost on clothing betas now because eventually they’re going to go up in value. Plus clothing betas like fox hats are my favorite thing ever
played regularly from 2014-2016, came back this summer to find aj in late stage capitalism
trading for rares is SO HARD.
The rarest thing I own is probably my pink long, which isn't much.
i got up from a yellow long to a black long in 3 months!
I’ve always wanted a lphd, pretty much impossible now… 😢
Items rarity should be what people like, not something thats old or not around anymore. Idk its confusing
very inchresting thanks for making these viedos
I quit AJ around a time where the lphd was worth around 116 black longs... WHAT HAPPENED? WHY IS EVERYTHING SO CHEAP NOW?
i really really want a founders hat
I quit years ago and got back on and gave someone my lp headdress just because i wasnt using it anymore.. guys did i ruin the economy more..?
for future videos, you should turn down the background music. It's a little loud
amazing how the economy shifted from a bartering system to late stage capitalism
Its been imploding on itself for the past 10 years. its why i stopped playing at all.
I hope, I can get an Alpha Sword...This is my dream item, because I want go to an adventure with this...
But I don't even have a ONE BLACK SPIKE-
if you're a member i'd suggest getting an "autumn alien sword" from november's bundle, it's much cheaper and still works like the normal alpha sword

I want a den full of cami’s 😭 I’m no trying to “hoard” I just like those items the most

terrible.
