the animal jam art is amazing, not only is the lineless artstyle visually striking but it's also really fun to replicate in my experience :] i think even ages from now when animal jam is behind us the art style will always be timeless
+ i see people talk about the oldest and newest artstyles for aj but i have a very, very soft spot for taylor maw's "comic book" styled loading screens with the alphas. maybe bc i joined in 2013 but they were so cool!! i miss them a lot!!
I would personally love to learn how to draw in the Animal Jam official art style at some point (I already have a few ideas of how they do it, but I have yet to test my theories). Even the older more "beta" art styles are so visually captivating, and recognizable at that! Even if you didn't grow up playing animal jam, it's still very recognizable. I do enjoy ajc art more, probably due to heavy levels of bias as I've been playing since the beta, but the ajpw style has slowly begun to grow on me over time too.
@@Madjastin Learn vectors!!!! That's what they use for the modern style. Taylor Maw usually does raster work, but most of the "newer" art uses vectors.
I agree, the art is so recognizable!! when i was younger, i wasn’t allowed to play Animal Jam since it was an online game, then I forgot about it for a few years. Recently (around 1-2 years ago), I saw one of the official pieces again, and I instantly remembered Animal Jam. The art is definitely the reason why I’m an Animal Jam player now!
I have personally disliked the most recent animals in ajpw. I love the older style it feels more like animal jam to me and I wish they would've kept it that way, I like this video!
one of my favourite obscure things in animal jam is actually sketch jam in the art studio! taylor (pretty sure that was his name haha) has such a calming voice and such a fun demeanour! i definitely recommend checking out some of the videos, they’re very entertaining
Honestly, I think AJ's artstyle is the main thing that drew me in. It genuinely makes me happy to look at and I wish any of the official AJ artists, past or present, the best and many thanks!
Despite Taylor leaving he still has a massive impact on the Animal Jam artstyle. To be honest, his concept art of the alphas were really cool, especially greely and peck's! The new illustrations ever since Taylor has left made me think it seems less Animal Jam-like, while still attempting to copy his artystyle it still seems quite different to me.
Animal jam was a huge inspiration for me Art Style wise, i loved the way the animals look and it matches well with my artistic style preferences i already had. when i was younger i use to take pictures of all the animal art when u go to buy an animal and would trace them because making the shapes was so fun and it taught me a lot when i was first starting out as a digital artist. its sometimes so simple and yet so unique and that really drew me to it.
I am so happy someone is talking about the art of Animal Jam!!! I have always loved the uniqueness of the style sososooo much and it's just so crucial and iconic to their brand! ^.^ I still really wish Animal Jam would release an artbook or something, given they're now showing their Play Wild concept art on Instagram. It'd also be super neat if they did separate artbooks; one for Classic, and one for Play Wild. :^) Especially because there is a bit of divide in interest in Play Wild and Classic.
This is how I expanded and fixed Puppy In My Pocket series in my Puppy In My Pocket fanfiction series 💖🐾💛🐾🧡🐾 1) animal characters live in the same world as human characters 2) all of the animal characters are small and cute (all of the animal characters are the same size as each other (all of them are 31.75 cm tall), plus all of them have large anime eyes and human like facial expressiveness, the only thing that differentiates them is their animal species, as there are both well known species and lesser known species, plus there are more than just one member of the species) 3) all of the girl characters have the same extreme hourglass figure as each other and the exact same cup size as each (all of the girls have 35-25-35 bust-waist-hip ratio and the C cup size, the only things that differentiate them are hair colors, eye colors, skin colors, hairstyles and clothings) 4) all of the boy characters have the same body type as each other (all of the boys have 35-25-24 bust-waist-hip ratio and lean athletic build with medium sized defined muscles, the only things that differentiate them are hair colors, eye colors, skin colors, hairstyles and clothings) 5) all of the characters that are animalistic deities in the original versions of their stories are now just as humanoid as the other characters (the only things hinting at their animal inspiration are their hairstyles that look like attributes of animals they are based on, for example, Bastet has buns that look like cat ears and a braid that looks like a cat tail) Series in Puppy In My Pocket: Puppy In My Pocket Adventures In Pocketville Momotaro Journey To The West The Three Musketiers Sword In The Stone Leilani And Pele's Hair Jason And The Argonauts Wurrunna Little Red Riding Hood Diego And The Charcoal Cat Quetzalcoatl Bastet Anansi Vasilisa The Magical Glooscap Terror Of Gevaudan Killer Phantom Kangaroo Of Kentucky Baatar And The Death Worm Loch Ness Mystery Ramayana Pocketville Princesses are Katie, Martina, Molly, Nicole, Alice, Anabelle, Beatrice, Francesca, Michaela, Vanessa, Alexia, Valerie, Maggie, Emilly, Lillia, Kaguya Hime, Otohime, Urikohime, Jade Princess, Amelie, Vivianne, Leilani, Penelope, Anjea, Little Red Riding Hood, Isabella, Xochiquetzal, Bastet, Zuri, Vasilisa, Atahensic, Jacqueline, Sierra, Zhana, Evelyn and Sita Pocketville Princes are Kevin, Marc, Stephan, Lucas, Daniel, Liam, Momotaro, Urashima Taro, Kintaro, Issun Boshi, Sun Wukong, D'Artagnian, Porthos, Athos, Aramis, Arthur, Kanekehili, Jason, Wurruna, Friedrich, Diego, Quetzalcoatl, Anubis, Anansi, Ivan, Glooscap, Guillaume, Duncan, Baatar, Lesley and Rama Pocketville Principal Pets are Magic (dog), Bella (dog), Princess Ami (cat), Mela (cat), William (dog), Balloon (cat), Danny (dog), Wallace (dog), Eva (cat), Zull (dog), Gort (dog), Krakia (crow), Evershell (turtle), Durilia (crocodile), Toby (dog), Goldie (hamster), Robbie (American robin), Slowpoke (turtle), Juno (dog), Orilliam (pig), Sketch (dog), Swimmy (dolphin), Dr. Carrot (rabbit), Pinna (goldfish), Phoebe (dog), Pia (dog), Ginevra (horse), Kikki (dog), Frankie (dog), Leo (dog), Otto (dog), Camo (cat), Ribbon (baby chick), Tray (dog), Lenny (monkey), Precious (pheasant), Luna (rabbit), Virgo (lamb), Diana (moon moth), Rocky (sea turtle), Coral (tropical reef fish), Maomao (cat), Amethyst (turtle), Crystal (silkmoth), George (cat), Maybelline (parrot), Blush (horse), Elliote (falcon), Malorie (dog), Charlie (cat), Polly (hedgehog), Angela (Hawaiian honeycreeper), Matthew (sea turtle), Sylvester (dolphin), Octavius (octopus), Oscar (tropicbird), Gabriella (swallow), Andy (wallaby), Bouncer (bandicoot), Carmen (numbat), Star (billby), Roxy (dog), Freddy (squirrel), Charcoal (cat), Lilly (dog), Obsidian (snake), Ruby (bat), Holly (cat), Zachary (jackal), David (spider), Glimmer (butterfly), Millie (cat), Chase (wolf), Joshua (turtle), Uriah (groundhog), Mary (bobcat), Alex (peacock moth), Roderick (dog), Briana (Mexican tree frog), Tony (anole), Rufus (ground squirrel), Manisha (sandfish lizard), Harry (longhorn beetle), Sarah (cat), Patch (tiger) and Faith (dog) (Puppy In My Pocket) Pocketville Villains are Pet Buster, Akandoji, Yellow Wind Demon, Cardinal Richelieu, Morrigan, Nightmarcher, Circe, Bunyip and his drop bears, kangawallafoxes and hooroos, Wolfgang, Lobo, Tezcatlipoca, Apophis, Giza, Baba Yaga, Malsumis and his wendigos, Beast of Gevaudan, Killer phanthom kangaroo, Mongolian death worm, Arthur Grant and Ravana
One of my favourite moments in all the time I’ve played animal jam has got to be when I randomly won an outfit of the week event on the daily explorer back in like 2016/2017, and received official artwork of one of my animals. Afaik they don’t do these anymore, which is a shame because it was really cool.
can i be that one person whos around and bugs you when your on? bc i havent been able to do that to a youtuber before and your pretty cool and its every jammers dream to get to meet a youtuber in game and maybe fangirl a little lol (I have an AJ youtube channel too but its not this one, its my other channel CherryPlayzAJ)
What's your opinion on Animal Jam's art, or have you just not thought of it like me for years?
the animal jam art is amazing, not only is the lineless artstyle visually striking but it's also really fun to replicate in my experience :] i think even ages from now when animal jam is behind us the art style will always be timeless

i love animal jam art in both the official art style and i love seeing the items interpreted into individual artists' styles 🥰

Its such a unique and amazing art style, unforgettable.
I love the artwork; there's definitely a lot of talented people on this platform. Awesome vid too btw :)

Your jambassador art looks SO COOL!!! It's got to be my favorite one so far. It helps that your avatar has an amazing design in the first place.
It really is awesome, it looks like it's moving but it's actually a still picture, and that's so cool

I always wanted my avatar to be drawn in the offical art style, seems like I should work on that dream now that my skills have improved since then!
Love to see a video about this
i live for art appreciation
damn, people still play this game as adults? im now 20 and quit playing back around 2018, might get back into the game!
the community is still alive ^^ i myself got back into playing a few weeks ago

I thought you meant the fan paintings not the official art. Dear god I miss being young
The art community is also amazing, but I wouldn't do it justice covering that in only a 10 minute video
ive always thought this too!!!
can i be that one person whos around and bugs you when your on? bc i havent been able to do that to a youtuber before and your pretty cool and its every jammers dream to get to meet a youtuber in game and maybe fangirl a little lol
(I have an AJ youtube channel too but its not this one, its my other channel CherryPlayzAJ)
if you see me on feel free to say something
heyy!! i just hosted a 15k sapphire giveaway, do you mind sharing? thank you!! ☺️💕
