Has there ever been two short speeches that were so filled with love, sincerity and honesty....... incredible group of people..... may they all rest in peace and yet their memories live on in music and dance for evermore.
It's hard to say which speech was more poignant, Martin or Sinatra, but both a tribute to the class acts and greatness they were...so glad they broke from the show's usual yuk-yuk stuff and spoke from the heart here, and so sad that we'll never see anyone remotely close to them again
Thanks, colshe. Having heard all the accolades about the man: the demands on his life and the schedule he had to meet: to hear his own words from his heart, they were exquisitely elegant, mingled with a little wit.
What’s an opening beautiful speech from Dean Martin to Frank Sinatra, And later- from Frank returns to Dean, as a pure beauty as the same. ~ Loyal, honest, and sincere. I am speechless. Such an inspiration. A great friendship. RIP the greats man. They’ll always be loved, remembered.
These entertainers came through an era where your talent, whatever that was, was your meal ticket. And if you didn’t live up to the expectations of your peers and the fans, you could easily be swept aside.
There was just 1 reason why Frank was known as the, Chairman of the board.’ If he didn’t like you or your style of entertainment, you never got the big breaks, the top entertainment venues. That’s how much control he wielded.
You won't see entertainers/people like this again. Especially with all of the forced manipulative gaslighting that's present now in our society. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Orson Wells, thank you and at least your legacies can live on through film/video.
I’ve always loved how Frank and his friends would kiss each other on the cheek every time. They had great respect and affection towards each other.
What would Anita Bryant say?

Such heartfelt speeches about each other. So great.

Apparently Frank's old mobster buddy Sam Giancana was overlooked for the dais. And Dean Martin, as always, was a class act.
I wonder why that would be.
